“The universe is a vast and boundless realm, full of countless races, civilizations, and organizes of all shapes and sizes. Of the nearly infinite number of souls that exist within this universe, there are a few that have the potential for greatness: The Awakened.

Some are born into this power: a birthright passed from generation to generation. Some are preordained to this calling: chosen by powers outside of their control. Others have this power given to them: ordinary citizens until that day of reckoning when everything changes. Regardless of their origins or identify one thing is consistent: They all have the potential for power and the capacity to break through their limits.

As a new Awakened, your path begins here. Are you a royal heir destined for the adventure of a lifetime? Are you a Space Pirate searching only for fame and fortune? Are you an ordinary soul just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time? The choice is up to you. The Universe is a vast and boundless realm, full of countless races, civilizations, and organizations of all shapes and sizes. You are but one of a nearly infinite number of souls, but this is just the beginning; The universe is full of trials and adventure, waiting for you to go out and explore. Continued from Relaxing is Nice

Amaria picked up the pace as she walked away from the quaint little cafe in the second district and quickly made her way towards the Third District of Dawnbreak. This was her first time here in Dawnbreak but funny enough she found her way among the crowd and towards the Third District. Halfway through the walk, Amaria flicked her hand upward and Lugos, the Knight that had been following her from that point, slowly disintegrate into a dust cloud before dissipating into the air. While it would appear to the pedestrian passing by that the Knight had simply turned to dust and blown away, anyone carefully observing the dust would notice that it was disappearing into the air before the tiny grains of dust found their way back towards Amaria's right arm, which would then be sucked up like a vacuum into the glowing magical seal around her wrist.

Finally, Amaria would find herself in the Third District. Much different than the First or Second, this District was much darker and neon and red lights littered the streets as shady characters and oddly dressed individuals littered the streets. Still, Amaria paid no mind to these people. In her lifetime she had come across many different individuals and civilizations, some even weirder than the freakshows that she found herself walking next to.

She continued to walk through the district, heading towards her destination without stopping.

Stella rested her spear of her shoulder, like a young adventurer with their bag on a stick. She had wrapped the polearm up with a a tablecloth from the cafe so that she wouldn't cause alarm from anyone passing by. She stayed a good distance back, but kept the warhammer-wielding woman and her knight within her sights. They had been walking for a short while after exiting the cafe, and the scenery around them had slowly begun to change. The cityscape changed from the quaint little old town into something grungier and darker. Amaria had walked into a huge domed building which simulated the night time. Before entering, she waved her hand. As if on command, the suit of armor that had been following her around slowly disintegrated into dust. At least that's what it would seem to be to most people just casually observing the weird phenomena. Stella notice that the metallic particles drifted towards Amaria's hand, as if being drawn in by some sort of vacuum.

She's dismissing her spirit armor?

She's letting her guard down.

I wouldn't be so sure. It's easier for her to move in here without that thing tagging along.

Well whatever her intent, we still have the element of surprise.

Stella entered the domed district after Amaria, gripping her spear just a little tighter. The buildings inside were lit up with all sorts of crazy neon signs. The air was filled with the smell of burning paper, urine, and alcohol. The streets were filled with all manner of shady folk and outlandishly outfitted misfits.

Ugh, we've definitely hit the red-light. Stella wrinkled her nose in distaste. No matter how many times her job took her to these kinds of places, she still disliked the smell.

The girl's showing her true colors.

This is definitely more in line with "someone with a bounty on their head".

It's going to be difficult to use your spear in the streets. We should go up top.

Yeah, good idea.

As Stella kept her eyes on Amaria before dipping into an empty alley off of the main road. She focused her aura energy into her legs, letting it course through her body for a few moments. After building up her power, she sprung off the ground leaping two stories up off the ground and catching herself on the edge of the roof of the building in front of her. Like an acrobat, she pulled herself up onto the roof and rushed towards the other end. The buildings were built closely together, capitalizing on the limited area of the dome. She saw Amaria continuing down the main road, weaving through the throngs of people. Stella unwrapped her spear and planted it into the roof of the building. It was slightly cumbersome to tail people with it. She could call the spear to her hand at anytime, so she wasn't worried about someone taking it.

Alright, let's go.

Stella hopped to the next building, keeping her eyes on Amaria.

"She's close..." Amaria muttered to herself, her eyes focused and shifted through the crowd ahead of her. Time was such a fickle thing, consistent yet at the same time unpredictable. 207.995.824ptns until her demise. Amaria quickly pushed her way through the crowd, she had no idea where that woman was, only that she was running out of time.

Originally, Amaria had planned on coming here immediately, arriving in the third district and staking out the streets until the hunter was alone and exactly where she was supposed to be. How very unlike her to end up entranced by the beauty and aesthetics and the city of all things. Still, she couldn't help but smile at the memory of the Clocktower and the breathtaking view that Lester had shown her earlier that day. It wasn't just the sunset itself that had caught her attention, but the idea of the Clocktower itself that really hung in her thoughts. Such a simple device, gears and metal and clogs pushing one instance from another. One piece of her mind scoffed at the idea of such a primitive device, metal and brass desperately moving to keep up with the flow of time. Another piece, however, it gazed at the titan of a building that loomed over the city. Unlike the rest of the city, the clocktower imposed itself over the rest of Dawnbreak. It did not chase after time but seemed instead to command it. The rest of the city did not seem to look to reality to track their passage across this timeline, but rather they counted the movements along the clock.

She had heard them while standing within the halls of the clocktower talk of these measurements: "Seconds", "Minutes", "Hours", "Days". The mere thought of such a reality fluttered around in her mind, exciting her and filling her with both curiosity and wonder.

Caught in an overwhelming burst of thoughts and excitement, she almost completely missed the sight of a young woman, barely above 4 feet, and her almost luminescent platinum blonde hair. In the sea of freaks and oddities that swept across the streets of the Third Districts, she almost completely blended in. Yet, Amaria caught a glimpse at the young woman's eyes. There was no mistaking that malicious, sadistic look in her eyes. She was the one, the person that Amaria was looking for.

"Byorri..." she muttered under her breath before quickening her step to follow after the young woman. The energy of her seal located on her right hand began to charge up and glow, her energy and power building up as she pushed her way through the crowd trying not to lose sight of the young woman, barely catching flashes of light that illuminated from her hair.

Stella crept along the rooftops, making sure that Amaria was still in her line of sight. They had been walking for some time now, and nothing seemed to changed with the blonde woman's demeanor or patterns. She just continued walking forward.

She sure seems to be set on something.

I'm surprised no one has tried to stop her yet.

She doesn't give off the air of someone who would take kindly to that.

Stella hopped a couple of buildings ahead and squatted on the edge of the roof like a gargoyle on watch. She continued observing her target, taking note of her gait and movements. Amaria carried herself with purpose. She seemed to be the same age as Stella, maybe a little older, but she had a regal air about her, making her look like a much more mature woman. Her attitude earlier from earlier in the cafe was totally unbecoming of her appearance. Her platinum blonde hair flowed behind her as she strode forward. Her mouth set in a frown. Her gleaming blue eyes...

HEY! What are you doing?

Wha-What are you talking about?

I can tell what you're thinking. No. Just no.

It's not that.

Oh really now?

She kind of reminds me of my brother...

That's even worse.

Shut up.

Just then, Stella noticed Amaria pick up speed, shoving her way past people. She seemed to have found something or someone that she had been looking for. Stella looked at Amaria's gaze then began scanning the crowd in that direction. There seemed to be nothing out of the usual underworld scum when she noticed a patch of blonde in the sea of filth. It was the same color as Amaria's hair.

A relative maybe?

I don't know, but whoever that is, Amaria seems eager to catch up.

"207.985.825ptns...207.975.826ptns...207.965.827ptns..." Amaria muttered to herself, quickly making her way through the crowd. Quickly she shoved her way past two large individuals, then past several more. She squeezed her way through the crowd and slipped into a nearby alley, following the path of the mysterious blonde girl. Squeezing her way through the dark, trash cluttered, back alley her feet clanked and kicked around papers, empty bottle, and cans all lying on the floor as she made her way through the small space between the building. She broke out into a full sprint, shoveling her way through the clutter and kicking down a stack of boxes along the way. Finally, she burst out of the alleyway onto the adjacent street and quickly looked around.

Unlike the main street which was bustling with people and excitement, this street seemed completely empty. The road was deserted and even the lights seemed dimly lit compared to the main street behind her. This...was highly unusual. Amaria whipped her head around and looked up and down the street for her target. She was certain that she had gone down this way, how could she have lost her?

"Damn it!" she swore out in frustration, punching the side of the building in the alleyway she had just exited from. Her fist collided with the building and rigid cracks began to form from the impact. She paused for a moment and took a slow deep breath in. Her anger subsided and she calmed down.

For now, she would continue to search around the deserted street. Amaria knew that she had come down this way so she should be able to spot or at least detect her in some fashion if she was nearby.

Stella picked up her pace as Amaria began to push through the crowd more frantically. She hopped from one roof top to the next. As she landed she looked back down on the street to find that Amaria had vanished.

Shit!

The alley!

Stella rushed back to the alley she had just jumped over and saw Amaria sprinting down the alleyway, silver hair flowing behind her like a shiny beacon. She was headed for the next street over. Stella resumed her watch, jogging to keep up with Amaria down below. As the platinum blonde burst out into the street, Stella skid to a stop at the edge of the rooftop. She stood on the edge, just above Amaria. Her target looked up and down the street, then grumbled and swore. She was obviously angry.

That girl she was going for is gone. I wonder where she went.

Just then, the building shook underneath her unexpectedly. Stella was so deep in thought that she was taken completely by surprise. She looked down to see that Amaria had punched the building she was standing on in frustration. Stella almost lost her balance, but her tail kept her from falling.

Phew, that was close.

Stay focused numbskull.

It's hard enough when you're alwa-

Stella's retort at Fenria was cut short when the corner of the roof she was one suddenly broke off from under her. She had surmised that these buildings were old and shoddy, but not this rickety. She had no time to react as she plummeted towards the ground.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-OOF!" Stella fell two stories before crashing into a large heap for trash bags. She groaned as she rolled her way out of the garbage. getting up on her hands and knees, she arched her back and stretched it out, trying to ease the ache of her fall. She looked up to find that she had fallen next to Amaria.

Ah great, there goes the element of surprise.

Amaria was surprised when suddenly chunks of rubble and debris fell from the sky. Instinctively, Amaria raised her right arm upwards, planning on sucking up and converting the falling debris before it slammed down on her. But then, she heard a voice from above.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-OOF!"

Crap! her mind flashed for options. She didn't want to risk sucking in whoever was falling down from the rooftop. Instinctively, she activated her seal and four metallic arms, each wielding large metallic tower shields, materialized around her and formed a dome of metal above her. the debris rained down on Amaria's metallic dome and Amaria heard a loud crash! as whoever was up there landed, quite harshly, into a nearby heap of trash.

Similarly to the Knight Lugos, the metallic arms and shields disintegrated before being swept back into the seal on Amaria's arm. Looking down on the arrival of this person, Amaria got a good glance at the woman.

"You're that wolf girl that jumped down from the sky earlier. I must admit, this landing wasn't quite as graceful as the last one. Though I must admit, you seemed to have collided with trash all the same once again." a small sliver of a smile etched itself across her face before a look of confusion overwrote her expression.

"What exactly are you doing here? I don't see any dragons or idiots for you to stab your spear at around here."

"Uh...Hey there," said Stella awkwardly as she looked up at the platinum blonde. She had used her spirit magic to summon an umbrella of shields to keep the debris from falling on her head.

"You're that wolf girl that jumped down from the sky earlier. I must admit, this landing wasn't quite as graceful as the last one," said Amaria. "Though I must admit, you seemed to have collided with trash all the same once again."

"This one wasn't as calculated," replied Stella. She laughed awkwardly as she got up and dusted herself off, getting the joke about Daemon. She rotated and stretched all of her limbs to make sure nothing was broken. "Thankfully it's not from as high up either."

Stella smiled sweetly, though the cogs in her mind were working rapidly. What now? What was she going to say? People don't just fall from the roof without a reason. Stella quickly began forming excuses.

"What exactly are you doing here?" asked the droll enforcer, her face not betraying any sort of surprise by Stella's presence. "I don't see any dragons or idiots for you to stab your spear at around here."

There it was. The question. Stella's mind raced.

Fen, any ideas?

...

Bitch.

"Well...I was here gathering information," replied Stella. "A friend of mine does some business with the folks in these parts, so I was sort of gathering data for him."

Well, it's not a total lie.

Stella's heart was racing. The biggest bounty ever was standing in front of her. With the amount on this girl's head, it was easy to assume that she would be extremely powerful and dangerous. The ability to summon suits of armor was enough to handle most other hunters that Stella knew. The fact that Amari could bring out four shields meant that she had the potential to spawn even more soldiers to protect herself. Just how many could she call on? However, she didn't seem to be defensive or alarmed by Stella's presence, which meant that she probably didn't know that Stella was a bounty hunter. She wanted to keep it that way.

"As for why I fell from the roof...well, my phone's a cheap one that I don't mind getting banged up during work." Stella took out her phone and showed it to Amaria. She was telling the truth, it was a rather beaten up piece of tech. "But that means it gets bad signal, so I was up on the roof trying to get a signal so I could send him a message."

Spirits, this is the lamest excuse I've ever made.

"But that means it gets bad signal, so I was up on the roof trying to get a signal so I could send him a message."

There was a blank look on Amaria's face.

Signal? Message? Amaria understood the concept of what these devices did. You spoke to them and the person on the other end spoke back. Lester had explained that to her on their walk over to the Cafe, but what did she mean by signal? Did altitude play some part in how loudly one needed to be in order to speak? And what did she mean by "cheap one"? Did currency play some role that she hadn't considered? If cheaper meant worse, didn't that mean the one currently in her pocket was literally the worst possible phone out there? She had acquired it from Lester for free, and free was the cheapest price she could imagine.

Her mind raced as all these questions and deductions filled her mind. A hollow smile creaked its way across Amaria's face as she attempted to hide her nervousness.

"Ah! yes. I see" she wholeheartedly lied through her teeth. She didn't enjoy the feeling of not understanding something. She particularly hated appearing to others as if she didn't know something. She completely ignored the fact that Stella was sweating bullets.

"So...I do not believe I caught your name. May I ask who you are?"

As soon as the sentence slipped out of her mouth a jolt of inspiration hit her.

"Oh!" She would suddenly exclaim, possibly interrupting Stella's answer to her first question. "What kind of information are you gathering? I'm looking for someone right now, but I seem to have run into a dead end. Maybe I can help you while I look for another lead?" She really did need another lead to where Byorri was heading. This entire District was fairly tame to the other locations she had been, still, Amaria could not make heads or tails of the social and cultural interactions that were going on along the main street. If she knew more about what was going on, maybe she could figure out where Byorri was heading and get ahead of her. There wasn't much time, but there was still enough to look around for a while.

207.895.257ptns...she thought to herself, I've still got some breathing room, but I should keep my eyes open just in case.

Amaria stared at Stella blankly. Was her lie effective? Was she so baffled by Stella's pathetic attempt to figure out an excuse that she had no idea how to react? Either way, Stella clenched her fists tightly, ready to react if the lady struck.

"Ah! yes. I see" said Amaria with a smile. It was obviously forced. Her eyes betrayed the amount of thought going through her head as they shifted side to side ever so slightly. Was she also nervous about Stella being near her? Was she unprepared to fight a bounty hunter?

Crisis averted?

She's just as bad at lying as you are.

For now, I'll see that as a good thing.

"So...I do not believe I caught your name. May I ask who you are?" Stella snapped out of her thoughts and redirected her attention to Amaria's face.

"Oh, uh I-" Stella started.

"Oh!" She was abruptly interrupted by Amaria who seemed rather chipper now. "What kind of information are you gathering? I'm looking for someone right now, but I seem to have run into a dead end. Maybe I can help you while I look for another lead?"

I don't know if she's seriously switching her personality or if she's just plain kooky.

At least she doesn't seem to be suspecting you.

Yeah, good point.

"Well, I've already gathered the info I needed and the message was sent just before my little daredevil act," said Stella holding out her hand to Amaria for a handshake. "Anyways, I'm Stella-Fenria, but just call me Stella. Or you can call me Big Sis too!"

Hopefully Amaria would let her guard down even more around Stella. Perhaps see her as a friend.

"Thanks for the offer to help, but it seems like you're the one who needs help." Stella gave her a wink. "Luckily for you, I happen to be an expert in finding people."
