Let's become someone else. Perhaps with more depth of character.

Renzo is too sexy for himself

I have come to the stunning revelation that TPP is just like a traditional Shin Megami Tensei game (not Persona). Why is that? Well, there are clearly 3 factions in play, in an all consuming war that threatens reality as we know it: The Helix that you all praise so much, the Anarchy that you love, is actually the side of Chaos, of the demons that initially invade earth, or in this case, grip Red's poor soul. They are always first to arrive, first to be encountered, and always value power and freedom over everything else. TTP essentially started off in Anarchy, which means the force of Chaos was well in play before anyone realized it, a forte of demons in the SMT games. Now, the Dome and Democracy, surprisingly, plays the part of Law. Democracy, unity, but also punishment and binding: elements that all describe the angels and God himself. The same God who is depicted in the SMT games as vain, selfish, and vengeful. Who would go through the motions of destroying the people he creates in order to ensure that he is always the one in charge. The side of Law also always arrives late, and tries to pull the protagonist to their side. This happens in TPP on the 3rd day, where Democracy was officially introduced, then scrapped for a Democracy and Anarchy meter... an alignment meter. Now, this is all well and good, but what is the force representing the Neutral side? Some would say the Old Amber, since it is the last fossil in the game that you can get, just like the Helix and Dome fossils. However, this doesn't quite work because Neutral is supposed to be the side of humanity, and thus is always present. What is always present? What can't be tossed or released by the dreaded PC? It's simple: it's the one you leave behind, Pokedex entry #1. Yes, Bulbasaur is the representative of the Neutral side. But didn't we leave Bulbasaur back in Pallet Town? Yes, but his cry is ever present when the Pokedex is opened: the players have access to him any time they wish, just like how the protagonist of any SMT game still has his humanity until he discards it at the end of the game. To know the cry of Bulbasaur is to remember humanity: to remember what it was like before the world was thrown out of balance, before it came under siege of the forces of Chaos and Law. In order to truely win TPP, the alignment meter must be discarded, but cooperation must be maintained as much as possible. Only then can Red rise above the force that tear away from his very soul and free himself from this nightmare. Neutral is the real winning path in any SMT game: to pick an alignment is to destroy the world as we know it, and to forfeit it to a new power, one that isn't human. So please, don't choose the Helix or the Dome. Choose Bulbasaur. Choose Humanity. Edited by Don Jentleman, Feb 24 2014, 07:28 PM.

Old Amber is supposed to be the Neutral one, and is supposed to bring Balance to Helix and Dome, Anarchy and Democracy. |

Really, lorelei wouldnt be such an issue if they sued democracy to have Castor the Zapdos take the lead. Zap 'em into submission, then move on to the real challenges. |

The Embodiment of Smugness

Oh god. This stream. I took one look at this and I already knew this was going to be madness, and now there's a new adventure? May the Helix Fossil have mercy on their immortal souls. |
