Book 1 - Foolish and Successful Chapter 1: Wonders of the Internet Everyone has their hobbies. Some people collect things. Some people make things. Some people read stories or watch shows. Some people have hobbies that are some combination of these. Me? My name is Cody Como. I have long, brown hair tied into a pony tail, and my eyes are blue. I'm a guy of approximately average height at five eleven but somewhat scrawny with only about 120 pounds. My favorite music is rock but not the really heavy metal where they sing in high pitched screams. I like to collect things to watch and things to read. Mainly anime and manga. My favorite stories are fantasy oriented. I liked fantasy to the point that I hoped it was real. What draws me to fantasy is magic. I liked to imagine what I could do if I had magical abilities. So, I decided to find anything that can teach me these abilities. But admittedly, I'm a bit shy and didn't to share to much with anyone so they wouldn't think I was stupid or crazy. You wouldn’t believe what you can find on the Internet. Especially if you search Google. I found sites on stage magic, Wicca, Witchcraft (the kind that doesn’t prefer to be called “Wicca”), candle magic, magick (spelled with a ‘k’), and even a few Asian influenced magics. Most of this I thought was garbage or at least wasn't what I was interested in. But what caught my attention was called “sorcery.” This was the magic you usually find in these action/adventure fantasy stories. What I found in these sites was stuff about energy, chakras, auras, spirits, and planes. What really surprised me was the “mental planes” mentioned. What I gathered from the “mental planes” was that great magic resides in them. I thought, “Maybe if I could break through to these planes, I could become a great sorcerer.” I also learned from these sites how to sense auras through my senses. Especially touch and sight. And I found that I can direct my energy through my body mostly by will. From this point on I got deep into meditation. My favorite exercise is where I hold my hands in front of me and focus my energy into my hands and the space between them. After a while, I would feel a force building between my hands. Not strong enough to push them apart but noticeably weaker as I separate them further. What saddened me was that I couldn’t quite do anything with my energy that I hoped. Just directing it through my body and building it into balls. I would throw these balls to see if they can do anything, but nothing happened. I continued meditating and building my energy. As I meditated, I would reach a higher state of consciousness and occasionally hear unintelligible voices. I thought during these episodes of “higher consciousness” I have reached these mental realms where the magic rests. Postscript: This is the first chapter from a series of stories I've been wanting to share for a while. Something I will admit to is that the main character is a close representation of myself. But I guess he is at least the kind of guy I hope to become and behave. I hope he doesn't become too much of a Mary-Sue. I have already written quite a bit more of this series, five more chapters in this one book. What I refer to as "books" may seem too short for most. This is partly because I usually try to avoid stalling and focusing on unimportant details, but more importantly each "book" is supposed to be the same amount of content to a TV episode. Since I wrote most of these years ago, much of the content might seem dated, so I might update or edit them as they come out. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Chapter 2: Taking Down Barriers One fateful night, I had reached my meditative trance and built a strong energy ball in my hands. At that point, I decided to see if I could breach to the “Realm of the Mind.” I raised my hands up, opened them until my palms were facing upward, and forced this energy ball upward. It seemed to pierce something after that, but it didn’t end there. This “break” felt as if it opened further, and whatever was behind it proceeded to pass through into me. I felt a bit “empty” or drained, more jaded I guess, after that energy ball, but whatever it was that filled me back up kept coming. I felt as if I was an inflating balloon. Soon, I was as “inflated” as I could be and passed out. Some time later, I woke up to see a woman sitting at the end of my bed. I jumped up and crawled back a bit. I was wearing my shorts from the previous day so I was mainly startled by her sudden presence than what she saw. She wore a light blue skirt and a top. They seemed like normal clothing to me, but she seemed to glow a bit and was semitransparent. “By seeing what you did, I’m a bit surprised, myself,” she said. “That was quite an amazing feat you did.” “Wh-who are you?” I managed to get out. “And what are you doing here?” “Haha. My name is Genesis Lecocq. I am a spirit that came through the rift you just made. I’m half-way surprised you asked. You humans ARE naturally curious. You just about had to.” “What exactly did I do?” “HAHAhaha. Oh man, you’ve got to be kidding me! You created a rift to a mental realm. That’s what you intended to do, wasn’t it?” “Yeah...” I answer hesitantly. “And you wanted to have magical abilities. Once the rift opened, its contents poured into you.” “Wait. What? Are you saying I have magic now?” I said as I raised my hand to look at it. “Yes.” I started focusing my energy into my hand like I have before. Unlike before, it started to glow, but soon fizzled out. “Hehe. I’m a bit more familiar with that magic than you are seeing how I also came from the same realm as it. Would you like me to teach you to use it?” she queried. Of course I perked up. It took a while before I responded. “You can teach me?” Before she replies, I interrupt “Sure I’d like you to!” “I guess from now on, I’m your spirit guide. I just realized that I never asked you your name.” “My name...? Oh! It’s Cody Como.” “Well, good night... Sorcerer Cody.” |

Chapter 3: Oops? “Ah man, what a weird dream.” I said as I got out of bed. I walked into the living room of my apartment where the TV was tuned to the news as it is usually left when I wake up. On it was the everyday current events: pop culture, crime, world disasters, local weather, politics. An emergency broadcast comes up. “We apologize for the interruption, but an important story came up,” the newscaster reported. “An incident happened last night where a violent attack was reported. The police were assigned to a scene where a woman was found severely injured and unconscious. Shortly after their arrival, officers spotted and chased down a dark figure. They attempted to corner it in an alley where it escaped. We warn you to be careful as you go outside for the perpetrator may still be around.” After taking the reporters caution I was startled by a familiar voice. “Cody! There’s bad news!” I turned to see where the voice came from and jumped to find someone I only remember seeing in a dream. “You? You’re real?” “Uuuuh,” she groaned. “Yes, it’s me, Genesis. It wasn’t a dream, and I wasn’t the only one who came through that rift you made. I have already detected some demonic activity, and this could continue as long as it remains open.” “’Demonic Activity?’ You’re kidding!” “Yes, demons. Malevolent spirits. They exist only to cause destruction, chaos, and suffering. They are born from the more selfish thoughts and ideas as well as humans' fears and will try to arouse the feelings they are made from to fuel their existence. Even worse, they could even feed of spirits directly.” “That sounds like that news flash I just saw. A dark figure supposedly attacked someone.” “Yes I would believe that a dark figure could count as a demon.” “Let me guess. I have to take care of this,” I said dutifully. Genesis pauses and raises an eyebrow as she squints at me. “Why do you figure that? No one is obligating you to fight demons.” I became worried. “But I’m responsible. Isn't that how this works? I opened the portal and let the demons out. I have to get rid of them. Plus, I’m probably the only one who can fight them since I’m a sorcerer. Reminds me: you think you can give me a quick lesson?” “That depends on how long you are willing to wait until it attacks again.” “I’d also need to get a costume.” “What for?” “It’s obvious why the super heroes need them. I don’t want people swarming me as I walk down the street everyday or get arrested for any reason.” “Okay. I guess I’ll go over the basics as we go to town where you will find a costume. I don’t think we have the time, supplies, or skills to make one here.” “People would think I’m crazy if they hear me talking to myself, don’t you think?” <They don’t have to hear you.> Thoughts that weren’t my own entered my head. After a second, I try it myself. <An interesting idea.> <Wow. You catch on fast.> Postscript: The '<' and '>' symbols I used at the end of this chapter are supposed to represent telepathic communication. I read Animorphs as a kid and realize that this is similar to "thought-speak" in that series. But I am mainly attempting this to be more similar how foreign languages are represented and indicated as translated into English (or whichever language a story is written in) that I have seen done in series such as Mega Tokyo as well as others. As I expect it to be performed, telepathic communication is more a direct conveyance of thoughts rather than using words as a medium. |

Chapter 4: Cloak and Scarf We began my lesson on the drive to find a costume shop. The whole time, Genesis is floating in my car and only visible to me. <So, what kind of incantations do I need to know?> <Incantations?> <Magic words.> <Haha. You won’t need magic words.> <Then, how am I supposed to make fireballs and lightning?> <You just will it into existence.> <That’s where it gets confusing.> We pulled into a building’s parking lot. <Speaking of confusing, Cody: What are we doing here? This isn’t a costume shop.> <I came to the bank to withdraw some cash. My cover would be blown if the guy at the costume shop hears about someone fighting a demon wearing something that was bought earlier that day. If I pay with a check or a card, they can tell anyone that customer’s name.> <That’s clever. A good trait for a spellcaster.> After I got $80 out of the ATM, I got back into the car and continued our drive down town. <So, about this ‘will’ I need to use to cast spells. How do I use that?> <It’s simple. You just imagine what your trying to make and shape your aura into it..> <Simple, eh? Doesn’t sound very simple. I’m more confused.> <It came from the Realm of the Mind. What did you expect?> <Incantations. But that clears things up a little bit.> <The best advice I can give you at this point is that visualization helps a lot. Since you’re mortal and don’t use your spiritual sense as much as spirits like I do, it is good to associate magic effects to something you are familiar with. For example, when controlling your energy, it would be easier to start out by imagining it the same as your breath: exhaling as you’re pushing it out and inhaling as you draw it in. The breath is very important.> <So it’s kind of like Sendo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Or was that really called “Ripple”?> <What?> <Nevermind.> We reached a costume shop at a nearby mall. It mainly had the generic costumes like vampires, clowns, Frankenstein’s monster, a few things a guy shouldn’t wear. Luckily this was a big store, and it had a big section dedicated to cosplay and a bunch of stuff to put together an original costume. I wanted to keep the visit short and not spend too much on my disguise. A mask would be too clichéd, and I would rather not wear spandex. My costume had to “fit the part,” though. I found a cloak that seamed suitable for a wizard and helped hide my face since it had a hood. It could also function as the generic cape. The hood can fall off and reveal my face so I found a scarf to cover my mouth and nose with. After trying them on in a fashion that I was comfortable with, I brought them to the counter to check out. “Please, don’t tell anyone about this,” I requested to the cashier. “Everyone says that,” he responded without looking up. “I stopped listening after a while.” |

Chapter 5: First Encounter Genesis gave me a few pointers on sorcery, but they hardly provided me any more help than what I already knew. While waiting for the demon to show up, I put on my disguise, and we practiced a few things hiding in an alley. There were a few tramps, vagrants, and other homeless people in the alleys, but Genesis assured me no one would believe them. I couldn't help but feel bad for them, but neither could I do anything for them personally. <You seem to speak as if you have experience with bums.> <Some people are so tuned into the mental planes that they seem to be insane. They usually are.> <Would it be that they go insane from being exposed to the Realm, or that they are more in tune because they are ‘insane?’> <The causes and effects differ among them.> After moving on, Genesis started her lesson with some basic skills. <As I mentioned before: visualization helps with what you want to accomplish. You already know how to shift your energy through your body, right?> <Yeah.> <Good. Now, extend your right arm forward and collect your energy into your hand.> Which I followed as she said. <Now try extending your energy further away from your hand. Visualize it.> <Uh. Am I doing it right? I can’t really tell.> <Huh. Seems like you can’t quite see spiritual energy that well. I suppose I’ll have to help you with that. Yes that’s good. Now see if there are any small objects around.> I looked around and noticed a can nearby. <How about that can over there?> I asked as I gestured to it. <Yes. That’s good. Focus on the can and send your energy to it. Surround the can with it and take it as yours. A sense of 'possession' helps.> Genesis guided me as I tried to focus on the can. <Now you have the can, let’s try telekinesis. Visualize a physical force lifting the can of the ground.> <I think I get it.> I focused more on the can, but it hardly moved. <I tried this before, but it didn’t work then either.> <Try harder,> she encouraged. <Put more energy into it and visualize. I know you can do it.> I tried harder as she said and grunted a few times in the process, but with some focus and effort, the can began to hover. I grinned <I got it.> Then the can dipped a little. “Whoa.” I regained my focus and lifted the can further. <Good job!> Genesis cheered. <Now try bringing it closer and moving it around little. Try imagining an arm moving it for you.> I practiced a little more as a involuntarily curled my arm towards my body. <If you feel tired, try drawing energy into you. I’ll help give you some if you need it.> After a while, I got more familiar with telekinesis. I moved on to more things and heavier things. We even tried moving them in different ways like rotating them in place or throwing them. We also tried to move on to moving fluids and air currents. After a while, I caught myself making weird gestures as I was performing my tricks. <Um. Do I need to be doing these gestures? I feel awkward.> <Not really, but I recommend you keep doing them. It helps you visualize and concentrate. When you get more skilled with it, you might be able to perform sorcery while standing completely still. Until then, I recommend you keep it up. Also keep focusing your energy through your hand to keep it focused in the right direction.> After asking some help from a local resident, we started to specialize. We had him throw objects towards me (not AT me) while I tried to deflect them or stop them with telekinetic “shields.” It took me a while to get the timing right, but I was able to practice and save some effort by returning them to my “attacker.” We also tried a few things like fire conjuring and lightning, but they were a bit complicated, and I couldn’t quite get the hang of it. After a while of “training,” we heard a crash and a scream. It started to sound as if something is coming this way. Something charged past the alley we were in but too fast to see what it was. It sounded as if it stopped and started to come back. A large humanoid figure stopped at the opening. It had longer arms than a normal person and appeared to have thick skin, almost like armor. What really gave me an idea what it was was its fangs. “Kind of lucky for it to run into us,” I stated with a slight shudder in my voice. <I think it was more than luck,> Genesis replied. <I think your magic drew it here.> The demon appeared to sniff around and suddenly turned to face me. I assume it knew who I was because it charged at me. I instinctively dodged out of the way. He continued charging for a bit but stopped a few feet away from me. I quickly glanced around to find a “weapon.” I spotted a pipe and drew it to me like it was a light saber. Once equipped, I refocused my attention to notice the coming attack and shield it in time to soften the blow. I tried to counter with my pipe, but it blocked and knocked me away. |

Chapter 6: Two Heads... “Man, too bad I didn’t have enough time to practice more.” <Your main problem might be your inability to think quickly enough,> Genesis concluded. <Let me see if I can help.> After saying that, she dove at me and I reflexively flinched. It felt as if she entered my body and then felt a new presence in my mind. <What happened?> I asked. <I merged with you.> Though this was much like our other telepathic messages, it seemed to come more from myself. <Like a possession? Like in The Exorcist?> <Much like that, except I’m not The Devil, and you’ll still have control over your body. I’ll just help with your spells.> <Things keep getting weirder.> The demon continued its assault. It dashed toward us, and we dodged. When we stopped, I felt more stable and swung at him with the pipe. I connected a blow, and it seemed to feel the hit but didn’t seem to be harmed. It countered and Genesis blocked with a shield. <Let me help with that.> I felt my aura growing around my pipe, and it appeared to glow faintly. I swung again, and energy seemed to explode when I hit. Cracks started to spider-web at the area of impact. The demon was obviously hurt from this attack. I hit again and again. When it seemed dazed, I took a big swing at him, and he was hit against the wall. Bricks fell off the wall. When it stood back up, the demon picked up these bricks and threw them at me. Genesis caught them in mid-air. Noticing them floating there, I decided to send them back with a strong force. Genesis must have done to them the same as she did with my pipe because the ones that hit had the same “explosions,” and the demon fell back over. At this time it was showing signs of damage: cracks were forming on its skin and breaking off like sand or dust, but I didn’t see anything like blood or other fluids. Though a sort of smoke or steam would escape from the cracks and vanish into the air. <Let’s finish it,> Genesis suggested as my hand started to zap. I could feel my hair start to prickle up as what I believe to be a charge built in my body. I extended my hand toward it, and lightning arched into my target. It seemed to spasm from the electricity until it disintegrated into a pile of what looked like ash and dust. I breathed a sign of relief, but was startled by the black smoke that appeared to take form. <I may have been easy for you, sorcerer.> This time the voice came from the dark form, and I could feel a sort of malevolence or cruelty to its "voice". <But the rift continues to grow, and more powerful demons are passing through.> I swung at him again, but it passed through it and it laughed. <You can’t hurt it, now,> Genesis informed. <It’s intangible.> <We have to get rid of it somehow. It’ll just cause more trouble.> Just then I remembered my “ritual” last night. I threw the pipe aside, took a wide stance, and put my hands in front of me. <What?!> The demon seemed to panic as it tried to resist and get away from me as I started drawing the demon into a ball. Wait, I thought. I can’t send him back to The Realm. The rift is still open. I should banish it to Hell or something. After this decision, I pointed my hands downward and forced the demon-ball like I did my energy last night, but this time made sure to “close the door.” <Cody. What did you just do?> Genesis seemed confused. <I don’t remember teaching you that.> <I...> I stuttered. <I don’t exactly know. It sort of seemed natural.> <Whatever you did, it worked. I don’t sense the demon at all.> Just then, the bums that decided to stay along with a few other people came out of hiding and cheered. I turned to notice them as some ran to greet me. “That was amazing. You beat that monster.” “Are you a super hero? You have a mask and cape.” “Wow! A real super hero in our city.” “What’s your name and your powers?” “Uuuh,” I thought for a moment. “I haven’t given that enough thought. I’m kind of an angel, fighting demons. But I’m not quite.” Just then, I remembered a fantasy creature that fit that description. “Call me ‘Archon.’ Archon the Sorcerer. Battle Sorcerer.” “Thank you, Archon.” “I’ve got to go. I suggest you don’t follow me if you want me to stay.” They agreed, and I ran off. I think I heard someone say “I don’t think we want to anger him.” As I ran, I felt Genesis separate herself from me. <I think I’ll need more practice if I need you to cast my spells for me,> I suggested. <We’ll practice when we have time.> I took off the cloak and scarf. <This is cool and all, but I’d just like to get back to a normal life for a moment.> Postscript: And so ends my first "book". As I have already been told and have mentioned before, it might seem a little short for a book, but I mainly intend this to be about the same length as a TV episode. I sort of intend it to also follow a sort of "monster of the week" sort of format. As for the monsters themselves, they are more often in this series referred to as "demons", but they are actually distinct from what would be considered "true demons" in this setting. The Realm of the Mind is essentially the collective unconsciousness of humanity, and spiritual entities that come from it are born from thoughts and emotions, sometimes common and shared with multiple people and others can be more specific. I at some point started calling them "gnostic spirits" due to their nature relating to knowledge. "Gnostic demons" are specifically created from fears, vices, malice, and other negative thoughts and emotions and often take appearances relating to them. For example: a demon created from fears of spiders would take an arachnoid shape to arouse the fears it was created from and feed its existence. Same thing how fear of darkness may manifest as a black cloud that absorbs light and potentially would also project a sense of a malevolent, unseen presence. If anyone has any suggestions for monster or villain ideas or anything else regarding my story and setting, please tell me either in this thread, the discussion thread, or in a PM to me. Thanks for reading. |

Book 2: “Semi-normal life” Chapter 1: Today’s Schedule I woke up and went into the living room. I found the silence uncomfortable, so I turned on the TV. It was left on the same news channel as yesterday. Yesterday, there was a report of an attack. I wonder if they caught the guy, I thought to myself. Something was weird. I noticed I was holding the remote but didn’t remember picking it up. Oh well, I thought. There have been times I’ve walked somewhere and can’t recall it. “In local news,” the newscaster stated, “there have been reports of a new ‘super hero’ in McNewtonvil City.” That caught my interest. “The 'dark figure' spotted yesterday is believed to have been a ‘monster’ and is said to have been killed by a disguised man who refers to himself as 'Archon the Battle Sorcerer.' Police suspect this an act of vigilante action, but it is also theorized to be a publicity stunt. A hunt is still out for the 'dark figure' even though witnesses claim it was destroyed by the so called sorcerer's magical abilities. Citizens are also advised to be careful around the man who calls himself 'Archon' and report sightings to the police.” Archon? Then that wasn’t a dream, either. “Good morning, Cody,” cheered a familiar voice. “Or should I call you ‘Archon?’” “Hey, Genesis,” I replied. “What’s up, today?” “I have to go to school today. Other than that, nothing that I know of. Perhaps after class, I can train with you.” “Where’s your class?” “McNewtonvil University. I’m a major in Computer Science. There’s something about programming that gives me a good feeling. Like I’m a god. I also think it's fun and challenging.” “Probably because you make some sort of reality.” “Maybe so. Anyway, I have to get ready.” I took a shower, changed clothes, ate some breakfast, and went off to school. I lived at on campus apartments, so the trip wasn't far. |

Chapter 2: Meeting up with Friends My first, and probably favorite, class for today was my Comp. Sci. class. Other than it is my major, I like this class because most of my friends take it, as well. I usually sit next to Ryan Hester, a close friend who practices blacksmithing as a minor hobby. He has made a few swords and knives but mostly for decoration and to say he made something. He is also a bit more into computers than me. Behind me, usually, is another close friend, Neil Gemmill. He’s mainly a friend because we are both fans of anime. I also look up to him as a fellow fan of magic. He’s someone I can come to for a spiritual conversation. I do more listening since he likes to talk. He says he is able to talk and breathe at the same time. Despite being a big person, he has a bit of energy. After class, the three of us plus a few others met up in the hall. “Anybody see that news report this morning?” Neil asked. “Yeah, what’s up with that?” Ryan replied. “I doubt a super hero would exist, especially here. I bet whoever sent in that report was crazy or just making up stories. They even said it might have been a publicity stunt or performance. What do you think, Cody?” “I don’t know,” I bluffed. “These things are hard for me to decide on. I’m still unsure about the chupacabra.” That last part was actually the truth. “Hey, Cody,” cheered a familiar voice. “What’s this about the chupacabra?” I knew it was Genesis but chose not to respond so I wouldn’t look weird since I doubt my friends could see spirits. “Who’s this?” Ryan asked. I was surprised that Ryan noticed her so I turned around. She was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. “What are you doing here?” “That’s a nice way to introduce a friend.” The new girl said with an expression mixed with a scowl and a smirk. “Oh! This is my... friend” <Call me ‘Genny.’> “Genny. Uh... I met her here at school, recently. What ARE you doing here?” “I thought I’d meet you between classes and get to know your other friends.” “Oo~. Looks like you finally got a girlfriend, Cody,” someone mocked. “She’s not my girlfriend. That would be weird.” “Weird how? She too good for you?” “No. We uh... just come from different backgrounds.” I introduced my friends to Genny, and they moved on to their other classes. I had a break until my next class so I decided to spend it talking to Genesis. “Really, what are you doing here?” “I already told you. I wanted to meet your friends.” She paused. “And I wanted to introduce you to Genny. Demons aren’t the only spirits that can take on a physical form. I thought it would be easier to meet up with you like this than have you talking to yourself.” <What about when I speak to you telepathically?> “Then you would just seem mentally occupied or distracted. I want to save you from having to make up excuses for ignoring people. You don’t want to look like a jerk, do you?” “I guess not. How do you plan on staying around here? Did you enroll in any classes?” “Of course not. I’ll just manifest whenever I want to hang out with you and your friends. I usually do it in the girls’ room.” After our conversation, we broke off and said goodbye. I then went to the cafeteria for a snack and went to my next classes afterwards. |

Chapter 3: After School Plans “Aw man, you’re finally out,” Genny sighed as I exited the class room. “Oh, hey, G-Genny. How did y... Never mind. So, what are you waiting outside my last class for?” “We were planning on having practice after class, today, right? Thought I’d meet up with you. Besides, I started having a weird feeling, lately.” “Demons?” “I’m not sure. I’ve spent my whole time here. At the university," She corrected and gestured to where she was standing. "Not... HERE.” “Got ya. Anyway. I thought I could also work on my costume. I drew an idea for what I’d wear.” I showed here a few sketches on my notebook as we walked down the hall. The sketches were a little rough, but I believe I have some drawing talent. The proportions and anatomy were a little off, though. “You’re not very good, are you?” “I know. I don’t draw much. Sometimes, I copy stuff I like. I’m much better if I have a reference.” “How much?” “Like this.” I showed here a copy of a character out of a manga. “Oh," she said with moderate esteem. "Which do you want to do first? The costume or the training?” “I don’t know. I would need a lot of practice, but I might need to keep from getting noticed. Let’s get the costume, first.” Outside, a familiar voice calls out, “Hey, Cody.” “Oh. Hey, Neil.” “What are you guys up to?” “We were planning on going somewhere after school.” “Like where?” “Uuh... Just to a store I need to go buy something.” “Mind if I come? I have nothing to do for the rest of the day.” Ah, man. I wish I didn't have to, but I’ve got to ditch him. “I don’t know. It might take a while.” “I told you. I have nothing to do.” Man, I don’t want to look like a jerk or make us look like a couple. “Do you have work or something today?” “Oh! Crap! I forgot. Guess I can’t come with you.” “I’m sorry you can’t come.” “I know. Anyway, see ya later.” He walked off to his car. “Whoa. Got lucky there.” “Deus ex machina,” Genny muttered. “What?” “N-nothing.” |

Chapter 4: Cloak, Scarf, and... Weird Feelings We drove back down to the shop we were at yesterday to finish my costume. Luckily, a different employee was at the counter. Back in the cosplay area, I found some one-piece martial arts outfits much like out of Dragon Ball to be the main outfit, a sash to tie around my waist, some gloves, and some boots. Again, I went to the counter, paid for it in cash, and said “Please, don’t tell anyone,” making sure to avoid eye contact. “That’s what everyone says.” We went outside and got back in the car. “Hey, Cody,” Genny sounded worried. “Yeah?” “Remember the feeling I got back at the university?” “Yeah.” “It’s back, and I think it’s coming from the school.” “I guess we’re going back there.” “I’ll go there myself to see what’s going on.” She turned transparent and flew up through the roof. <See you there, Gen.> Half way back to the school, Genesis was back. <We definitely have a demon, Cody.> <What’s it like?> <Canine. Like a big dog.> <I guess it would fit in with all those other dogs around. Where’s a good place to change?> <There is an alley near the school. You can park in the nearby lot and change there.> She led me to the lot. I took my costume and changed in the alley. I took off my shirt and shoes. Then, put the main outfit over my pants, tied the sash around my waist, and let the loose ends hang to my left side. After that was the gloves and boots. Finally I tied my scarf around my face and put on the cloak. I put what I took off back in the car. <Alright, Genesis. Lead me to the demon.> |
