So I came across this watching a video of some random guys doing role play: http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/ Give the video a watch.

It's in early access but it looks pretty interesting. As far as I can tell it's basically a physics sandbox in which you can play all sorts of board games. It's a simple concept really but I haven't seen it before. You can add custom board types and in the future it'll even have full steam workshop support.

Thinking about getting it, I don't really have people around to play physical board games with but I'd like to get into it. If some of you are interested we could see if we can get the 4 pack with gives a small discount.

If you didn't want that tavern burnt you shouldn't of put it in the same continent as your players
It certainly looks interesting.

That looks interesting. The most annoying part of playing board games is finding people to play them with. Hopefully I'd be able to use something like this to play games like Arkham Horror or Battlestar Gallactica with others online.

More like a table flipping simulator.

Although I am curious if it could run something like DnD...

I believe it should be able to facilitate something like DnD eventually. They're working on an RPG Kit (30 animated figurines, Dungeon Tileset, Character Sheets) and they obviously already have dice. I think it's one of their aims to eventually support it.

I look forward to that addition, then. If that's actually supported, I would consider getting it just for that.

I can see Pandemic being played on that.
