Saving Marriages and RE-filtering people as what it means to live.

I never ever understood why I had no REAL INTERNET firends. friends I could play minecraft with and maybe meet with one day IRL. but I guess I'm not really asking for direct friendship. Just a friendship that could be. I would love to get to know some of you. I don't really ask for this sort of thing and it kinda makes me uncomfortable. If I'm being desperate please let me know and I'm sorry if this topic irritates any of you. So....any takers?

Best way of starting a friendship is to get involved! The board suffers a slight lack of activity (understatement) due to external branches like Skype, but the Compendium is a useful tool if you're looking for where people can be found outside of VE. (Be mindful that it may be somewhat out-of-date.) We're a pretty open-minded group of people so don't feel reserved about approaching us. |

A good way to make friends is definitely to put yourself out there. Start something up, show something off that you think is cool that you think other people might be interested in. Even try pushing yourself a bit out of your comfort zone and trying something different with a group of people, online or otherwise. Online, you could probably try L4D2, and yes, Minecraft. Interact; work together as a team for something over a Skype call while playing games. Maybe try something weird like "Draw for me" or something. Feel free to Private Message those you interact with for a game and a Skype call. If you keep a consistent conversation going over PM or Skype, they shouldn't mind if you asked to play a game with them. If you put yourself around people and give them the chance to interact with you, someone will. It might take forever, but someone will. People do not leave other people alone forever if those people are always around. If someone sees you pass by them on the street every day, they'll eventually recognize you. You just have to give others the chance to recognize you. As far as around here, find dead topics and dig them up, private message people you've seen around a lot, etc. You could join Skype as well if you really want. If you don't want to, that's understandable... And to be honest, we need more people around on the forum, than on Skype. ... I'd personally offer myself to be an online friend, but I'm more in the real world at this point in my life. I don't get on Steam as much as I did a few months ago... I don't even HAVE Minecraft on this computer... |

Don't play with fire, kids.

Working together with people can make some pretty strong friendships. Heck, PRP has given me a ton of new friends, and I'm glad to chat with or play games with a ton of them whenever I'm available. Friendship is a two-way street. Good friendship abandons the road altogether and starts new adventures together. |
