Salutations, I'm *HexZyle I came here because I was introduced to a related Skype group by a friend, and I want people to talk to, and I've probably got nothing better to do with my time than to game, come up with analytical explanations for things that really don't need it, make subtle references to weird stuff, and stalk another forum for hours on end. I've a mild interest in multiple genres of games, least of all 4X and racing, but most of all games that have weird genre mixes and try out unique things. I dabble in traditional (pencil) and digital (pixel) art, programming (although I've only done GML), tabletop gaming, I have an interest in RP although I've never done it before, and I really want to start playing DnD. Not sure how to end this introduction, I could probably just use forum_introduction_template.conclusion. |

Deliciously delicious.

Hey there, HexZyle. I hope you have a good time. If you're into weird games, have you heard of the Katamari franchise? |

Hey, HexZyle. Welcome to the boards. If you're interested in D&D, I recently posted in the Shoutbox that I'm trying to get a campaign started in 4th Edition. |

I have, but to be honest I haven't played them yet.
I heard 5th edition came out really recently and was really eager to start out in that. Is there a particular reason why you are still playing 4th? |

I'm mainly more familiar with 4th, but also pretty much like 4e's system better that 3.5 and what I've seen of 5th (and by extension Pathfinder). Characters from all classes have more options other than "I basic attack the guy." Fighters may get more options if they choose their bonus feats properly, but it's mostly spell casting classes like wizards are able to have multiple options. Even then spellslots seems a bit restrictive for me mainly how you either choose a lot of uses of some spells or multiple different spells that can only be used once a day. I like the At-will, Encounter, and Daily Powers system much better. Also, 4e seems more like a game to me because I'm mainly playing D&D to play a game rather than just talk with people. |

I should go find a side by side comparison of the versions and make my decision from that... |
