Yeah, that occurred to me just a little while ago. It'd be pretty interesting actually to see how my clone changes in behavior as time goes on; it'd be kinda like a psychological experiment.

I AM looking rather beautiful today.
If I had a clone I think I would destroy it. I can't bear to have another me running around, that'd just be crazy.

Oh dear, you know what just occurred to me though? You'd have to watch your older self die, knowing full well that that'd be you come tomorrow. Essentially giving yourself a heads up as to when you're gonna die.

Well, if time is working by the multiverse theory (it'd probably have to be: it doesn't seem possible for the alternative to be true when you're getting feedback from your actions on a daily basis) and your future self died from a non-natural cause, you could always avoid it.
Then if you died anyway from another cause, you (and everyone who knew you) would be able to prove that "the day you are to die, you will die."

On the topic of being vastly different from your clone based on each person's individual experiences, assuming they don't have a hivemind, that's kinda implied. I can imagine my clone getting tired of a certain food at a different rate than me, or me finding a certain song and loving it, and the clone having a "meh" sort of opinion on it. This could be a help in other cases, though - I often find myself not being able to expand upon my creative impulses. If my clone is present at the time, they could help with that, finishing what I can't, or filling in blanks, due to having a different perspective.

I personally feel like the experiences make the man, so if an exact duplicate of myself just suddenly came into existence, there would probably be several weeks of trying to explain the significance of all the memories the clone would've received to them. If they retained any memories at all.
If I could get past the initial hurdle of educating him though, it would definitely help with my dire lack of second players for all of my offline gaming since the move. :P
You know, the more I think about this topic, the more I realize I have some serious isolation issues... I should probably do something about that. <_<
