Unlike the psp, it is made of solid nintendium. It's actually really smooth and responsive, without feeling flimsy.
I haven't seen anything built out of Nintendium since the 'cube. And even that thing wasn't entirely indestructible.

All the generations DSes and the Wii are easily broken, so I do so hope you aren't mistaken.

The cube was practically a block of Nintendium, hallowed out enough to store some circuitry (like the other Nintendo products before it). Nowadays, more circuits are needed, so less Nintendium is used. It's a trade off.

The only thing that broke easily on my DS was the screen and the L and R buttons. Screens are made of glass, and it only happened to the original DS that I got. I can't quite excuse the L and R buttons though.

My Wii has stayed firm, but mainly because its not in constant danger. It has fallen over more than a few times without breaking though, so that's good enough for me.

Regardless, the control stick is solid, but flexible. I wouldn't be able to play Rayman 3D without the stick being as good as it is, with all the precision jumping the game has. Good thing too, that game isn't too easy either, despite the lack of enemies...

Just remind yourself that it's not New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I don't know why so many people have such an issue with shaking the system.

Funny, I had a friend with a DS like that too. Still worked just fine. It did refuse to start every now and then, but tell me, can you find another device that could still work after damage like that? I don't think so.

True. Both my DSes have this issue (both classic and Lite) and they're still functioning.

The issue is more that they managed to get this damaged in the first place..

I have three DS Lites with broken upper screens. None of them live. So I bought me a new (or rather, used) Lite for the sake of being able to play imported games again. Let's hope this one lives to see tomorrow's light...
