I'm happy... doesn't mean Nintendo is, however. |

They dropped it in price because people weren't buying. Yes, they're unhappy, but if the consumer isn't buying, they're even LESS happy. They'll be more happy if they can make a good amount of decent games for the handheld, which will make up for those losses as they've gotten more people to buy the system, which means more people are buying the games. |

I just looked it up. I can't believe this actually happened. I wasn't expecting the price to drop this soon. (I was actually expecting it would drop sometime next year) Anyway, this was a nice turn of events.

The problem wasn't the price, although I imagine it was certainly a contributing factor. It seems to me that in Nintendo's quest to increase third party support, they left the launch software to other developers, hoping somebody would design a killer app. Super Street Fighter 4 3D is a nice piece, but it is far from a killer app. Dead or Alive Dimensions is not a killer app. I'd argue that Ocarina is on the verge of being a system mover. They need just a bit more. A strong RPG, likely to be filled by Tales of the Abyss 3D will certainly help. I'm an early adopter of Nintendo hardware, and I see very little reason to pick one up. There aren't any major Nintendo franchises I can't live without on the system yet. And after this, I'm very glad I wasn't an early adopter. I own most of the announced "ambassador" titles, and they're perfectly playable on my Droid X or Nook Color. Dedicated gaming controls can be fulfilled with a bluetoothed Wiimote. Needless to say, I'm very glad there was no compelling software and that I waited. Edited by Ghoul, Jul 30 2011, 12:30 AM.

I might buy one, if only to have Phoenix Wright object directly into my nostrils. |

I'll be getting one in a few months most likely. Really disappointing that everything confirmed is pretty much getting delayed. Only games I care for on it that are out are BBCSII and OoT3D. |

I heard that people who bought the 3DS at the original price will be getting a special treat. Something about being able to download 20 free virtual console titles for the NES + GBA that won't be released to the general public till some time next year.
