It's true what Zondac said. There is a lot of hype over it. But who am I to complain? With the results of this year's E3 it's fully understandable with the hype the 3DS has. But I am gonna get it anyway just for Paper Mario 3DS and Metal Gear Solid 3DS (wild guess at name. really likely though).

Edit: And to add, 300$ ain't that much here in norway. The PS3 cost 1020$ when it came out here in norway... I'm not kidding.

For a PS3,1000 DOLLARS!
Jeez.....
I'll probably have enough money to get it by November.(A 3DS,even though it's released at March,it's good to have your money early.)

Triggers.
Norwegians are pretty darn rich compared to Americans >_>

The average American will be having trouble affording stuff in Norway,
while the average Norwegian can shop til they drop in the US.

Learned that from personal experience during my summer vacation to Norway last year.

Hype? Sure. But well deserved hype. The price sure it's a little steep but it's portable 3D gaming, the hardware on it is pretty amazing (a step above the PS2 but below the 360), it has everything that a DSi currently has, and more. It's being innovative, it's doing something that no one else is. Seriously, people pay $300 for a 360 to play the same game in different shades of grey, why? i have no idea, but they do.

The release titles (or the games that seem to be coming out in the first couple of months at least) are amazing, and one of the biggest and best selections a system has ever seen.

The system is well worth the price tag. Maybe it's just me as I've always played portable systems way more often than my consoles, but March 2011 can't come sooner. I'm really looking forward to some Paper Mario, LoZ, Kid Icarus, RE, FF and many more. And although I may perchance have dabbled in a rom or to for the gba, it'll be nice to get the games on the VC that the 3DS has. Hopefully I'll be able to trade the pokemon from Firered>Diamond>White all within the same console.

Nintendo has said that they aren't stopping the with the normal DS games for quite a while, so if you're worried about giving up that newly bought DSi XL, I wouldn't worry too much. But myself, well I still have my DS lite from way back when. And like the Wii, I'll probably be camping for it (Most stores around me don't do midnight releases).
