I was just going to record audio, but I can probably use a camera. She's actually doing really, really well. We beat the Gattuso at Ehmead Hill 8 levels below my first playthrough. On our second try, and some of the first was my fault. I tried to buff in the beginning, and really didn't have time to. We're several hours above my pace for my first time. And of our two game overs, one was since I couldn't figure out how to target her with a spell, and the other was the Gattuso. Not bad imho.

I'm wondering if I'll die against Gattuso or not this time around...

Done for the day. Just finished (spoilers) the ruined city(/spoilers)

The Gattuso was pure evil. Who's idea was it to make an enemy that hits like a tank, runs like a cheetah, and has double the HP of the previous boss? We spent like 2 minutes running in circles, trying to not get hit while healing. I had to powerlevel for like 4 hours my first time. And the guy has no real impact on the story! He was there since the area needed a boss.

Also, getting ambushed sucks with a partner. It was actually nice on occasion to give the regulars a break and use someone else's HP and TP. Not so when it switches your sisters character to the person outside the party. Thankfully,I haven't been ambushed with Karol outside the party. I can't figure out if you can change who you're controlling either.

And I may have to play as Tear in Tales of the Abyss (that games healer). Its much better than hoping they're in a position to cast the spell.

If you have a Special Flag, you can change the character you're controlling, right? You probably ought to give her the P1 controller, and you take P2. That way, you're the one getting the odd character.

I haven't gotten the special flag yet. The only solution is to have her be the first player, but I'd rather choose the fights.

It's not bad anyway. She needs practice with Repede for the ship.

Update: past the forest of Keiv Mok now. She's gotten the hang of it,and we're ever so slightly overlevelled. The boss is pretty easy. Slow, and not enough area attacks to disrupt spellcasting. I didn't have to move to do my job.

*sigh*... Tales of Xillia was released a week ago in Japan. No word on a US release. Is it that hard to translate a game? Or to say "Hey, it's coming as soon as it passes through our localization team." Hell, I'd take Japanese audio with English subtitles if it meant we got the game...

The Last Story, Xenoblade, Tales of Vesperia PS3, Tales of Hearts, Tales of Innocence, the other DS Fire Emblem... Not a fun time to be a US JRPG lover.

A week is hardly enough time for them to decide whether or not they will localize this game.

They are probably still working of Graces f. Translating may seem simple, but it's not as easy as you'd think.
And translating is only part of it, next they'll need voice actors. Once again, it may sound simple but I don't think it is.

I doubt they won't localize Xillia, not after all the hype for it. But it may be a while before we get any news, just wait until Graces f is released, we might get some news by then.

Why don't they work on localization during production, like Square Enix does?

Or just a simple "it's coming eventually, don't import it yet" would be nice. I know translating is hard, but when you have a history of not localizing games, I want some info. That's not mentioning that the only reason we're getting Graces F is because they never bothered with plain old Graces. And honestly, I'm not sure the audience for the game is dead set on English voice acting. Most of us are old school enough where we just want the game.
