Yeah, I played. The game in itself is flawed for reasons Shane will be mad at me for bringing up yet again.

It's the energy system.

You NEED this energy and they force you to spend it at almost every oporitunity. You need it for the elevators, to start a guild, to use alchemy, to revive yourself when your entire party dies... Yet, there are only 3 real ways of getting it. Buying it with real money, grinding for 3000-some crowns to get it, or quit until you can grind for crowns again. Now, this seems great, right? You can simply grind for crowns enough to continue playing and to continue leveling up your equipment.

BUT WAIT.

When you get really low in a dungeon, you'll be blocked off from continuing into a floor because you'll need BETTER equipment.
"Well that's cool, I'll just go buy better equipment."

AGAIN I SAY BUT WAIT.

You've SPENT all your crowns on more energy. Which you then proceed to use to grind for more crowns which you then use to buy more energy which you then use to grind for more crowns which you then use to...

You see what I'm getting at here?

A game that will require you to quit and wait for you to keep in-game currency, albeit a fun game, is not one I would like to partake in. It attempts to corner you into using real-life money so you won't have to quit for the day.

I think the system is flawed, too. I think of it as a pacing mechanic, but it recovers far too slowly. This makes it a better F2P for the casual gamers who want something low-committal, especially when the later equipment requires more energy than you can hold at once.

I could see a profitable run from your loop when you can clear out past tier 2, I'm not comfortable with the amount of profit of (Amount of crowns made from tier 1) minus (How much energy costs). If you could sustain a longer/more profitable run then I could see worth, but in the beginning it's very tedious to get a respectable profit margin to support yourself.

It pretty much requires market savvy to get some high-end crowns, but tier 1 doesn't distribute anything worth selling, unless you're extremely lucky at the wandering vendor between floors. From how I see it, marketing is basically: (1)a delivery service from the deeper subtowns with worthwhile recipes, or (2)an alchemy service for your equipment, or (3)a materials tradesmen who have excess, all of which requiring beyond tier 1 experience.

You get 1,0417 ME points every 15 minutes.
That makes 4,1667 points each hour.
After 3 hours, that's 12,5.
After 6 hours, that's 25.
After 12, that's 50.
After 24, that's 100.

EDIT: This is all wrong. The wiki states you get 100 points after roughly 22 hours.

22 hrs = 100 ME,
11 hrs = 50 ME,
10 hrs = 45,4545 ME,
5 hrs = 22,7272 ME
1 hrs = 4,5454 ME
15 min = 1,1363 ME

I have noticed that even with a large amount of CE, which is easily obtainable- but scares people off because it costs REAL money- your energy will still go down RAPIDLY.

Simple matter: The 8th floor is where you hit the Tier 2 gate. Going down each floor is 10 energy. When you hit the Tier 2 gate, you're already down to only 30 energy left. (1=>8 is 7 floors, not 8, thus 70 energy spent.)

This makes getting to the VERY low depths, like say 26.. Impossible on the Mist Energy.

You need 250 energy just to get there. You start off with 100. Given that you are CAPABLE of getting to that floor, (i.e. got the right equipment, say it's the ideal situation and you never lose health) you'll take about.. 36 hours to refill 150 energy.

Admittedly, if you take your time and you'll go down SLOW.. you'll end up getting to the 10 floor in.. say two hours. (I doubt it's that long.)

You'll only have 8 energy. Maybe 9, depending on circumstance. That's still 1 energy too little to head down.

In conclusion:
I love this game, but if it wasn't so 'cheap' to get CE, I wouldn't play it.

Quick correction on your calculations Speedy. You hit a clockwork gate at depth 4 every time you go down, which costs no energy. Therefore, you only spend 60 energy.

Also, we need to consider the energy doors inside of the dungeons. Those require 3 energy each.
