If you guys haven't been keeping up with Spiral Knights, now is a good time to check up on updates. There were quite a few changes made...
July 6 update New Boss Stratum:
Within the depths of Tier 2 a new gremlin weapons facility has been discovered, The Ironclaw Munitions Factory. Intel from Spiral HQ has confirmed that under a direct mandate from the Crimson Order, gremlin engineers have begun developing a weapon of incredible power. Known only as 'Project Roarmulus,' this weapon has been designed with the sole purpose of destroying Haven!
Knights are ordered to infiltrate this harrowing complex of devious destructive devices and put an end to 'Project Roarmulus' as well as recover a recon module of the Alpha Squad. Take heed though, gremlins don’t exactly believe in a ‘safe’ work environment.
Survive this deadly complex and earn your Bark Modules as you'll find that Brinks has a new selection of 2* items available for trade. These include:
- The Pulsar, an experimental energy gun that shoots bullets that grow stronger as they travel - The Catalyzer, a gun whose regular shots can be combined with its charge shots to create a powerful explosion - Quicksilver Mail and Helm, armor created from the mercurial quicksilvers, capable of resisting shock - The Static Capacitor, a bomb that creates a shocking field of electricity
All of these items can be further upgraded through 5* provided you acquire their recipes from Basil.
New Items:
Handguns: 2* Pulsar (token reward only, has two upgrade paths) 3* Heavy Pulsar 4* Radiant Pulsar 5* Supernova
Alternate Pulsar path: 3* Kilowatt Pulsar 4* Gigawatt Pulsar 5* Polaris
2* Catalyzer (token reward only, has two upgrade paths) 3* Industrial Catalyzer 4* Volatile Catalyzer 5* Neutralizer
Alternate Catalyzer path: 3* Toxic Catalyzer 4* Virulent Catalyzer 5* Biohazard
Bombs: 2* Static Capacitor (token reward only) 3* Lightning Capacitor 4* Plasma Capacitor 5* Voltaic Tempest
Armor: 3* Quicksilver Mail (token reward only) 4* Charged Quicksilver Mail 5* Mercurial Mail
Helms: 3* Quicksilver Helm (token reward only) 4* Charged Quicksilver Helm 5* Mercurial Helm
Additional Changes:
Items - All handgun charge times have been reduced. - Most handguns have had their charge attack animation speed increased by 33% - Two-Shot heavy style handguns and Autogun style handguns can now move while reloading at 55% run speed. - Prismatech and Shadowtech Alchemer damage increased. - 2*-4* 'Vaporizer' style bombs have an increased cloud radius and duration. - The Ash of Agni, Shivermist Buster and Venom Veiler have a slightly reduced cloud radius and duration. - New inventory icons for Relic and Chemical bomb families. - New sounds for Coldsnap. - New sounds for Fang of Vog. - New art for 3* and 5* chemical bombs.
Monsters - Lumbers now do split elemental damage. - Lumbers now have a attack flash notification.
Merchants - Basil is now guaranteed to have at least one of the highest star recipe in each tier. - Vatel is now guaranteed to have at least one 2* recipe - Brinks the Token Trader has had his boss token catalogs revamped. Material rewards are no longer available for boss tokens, and many existing equipment rewards are now cheaper to obtain.
Levels - Replaced the corner pillars in Vanaduke's throne room with water wells.
Bugfixes: - Fixed an issue where a rare love puppy spawn would prevent players from progressing in the Clockworks - Fixed an invisible pitfall in the first Clockworks Terminal - Fixed an issue that was causing the Freezing Atomizer to apply the wrong tier of Freeze.
July 14 notice Get energized Spiral Knights, this weekend will be a Power Surge Weekend! Beginning Friday, July 15 at 2pm server time and ending Sunday, July 17 at 9pm server time all elevator costs will be half off! A Power Surge Weekend is the perfect time to see more of the Clockworks than you ever have before, offering more adventure for your mist. So gather your friends, ready your sword and take the plunge!
The mecurial set adds a movement speed bonus, which will probably be popular when PvP comes out. Static Capacitor seems to mimic the haze bomb series, which will probably make it quite popular. Pusar would be great for long distance snipers, and DAT catalyzer series, especially Biohazard. Shadow damage, AoE charge shot, and poison: can you say anti-slime king gun? This is what the catalyzer is capable of. Now, if the explosion area increases per level... Hooo wee!

Great game and has a great story layout. Although the tutorial could have shown you how to charge attack,if it did it would be better than figuring out yourself. I approve!

Haven't updated this in ages, sah! Let's get this show on the road!
Starting off, as of the 2nd of August, PvP was introduced. If you imagine yourself running around in a battlefield, swinging a Combuster at your opponent to proceed peppering them with a Sentenza you are horribly mistaken.
PvP is here, in the form of a Bomberman-esque mini-game called Blast Network. You pay a fee of 200 crowns to participate in a game and play Free-for-All, Random Team Match or Guild versus Guild Match. Any participating players to finish the match will receive a single Krogmo Coin token that can be used to purchase new rewards, and winners receive an extra token in addition to prize crowns for being the victor.
King Krogmo can be bribed for additional prices such as extra Krogmo Coin tokens and Bombhead Mask costume pieces. These will either be given to all participating players after the match or the winners. Bribing Krogmo can be done in the lobby before a game starts and you must collectively have offered 25 Energy in order to receive the additional rewards. If you do not bribe him with enough Energy before the game starts you will not lose your offered Energy.
Gameplay plays like any other Bomberman game. You run around with a bomb equipped, and the objective is to destroy your opponents using it and earn points to ultimately win the match. The blasts go off in straight paths instead of one massive blast covering a huge area. Getting hit by the bomb's blast counts as an insta-kill, regardless of how much HP you have. Armour bonuses are nullified and your shield can not be used. Even though bombs are insta-kill, traps and monsters can chip your HP off in the arena and eventually kill you if you aren't careful. Any suicides counts as a point towards all opposing players in Free-for-All(?) and in Team Matches suicides and team-kills counts as a point to the enemy team. As the game goes on, a lot of items will be dropped in the arena for you to pick up and power yourself up. There is a blast power-up that increases your bomb's blast radius, a count power-up that allows you to place more bombs at once and a speed power-up that speeds up your movement speed. Your powers start off at level one and caps at level 5, but the blast power-up goes all the way up to level 15.
Prizes range from more Bombhead Masks, to shiny new weapons and new Trinket Modules.
For 150 Krogmo Coins each you can get an Azure, an Emerald, a Golden, an Onyx, a Ruby or a Silver Bombhead Mask. These are costume-only items and only serve as a show-off to other players.
New weapons are available, ranging from 50 Krogmo Coins for 3* weapons, 100 Krogmo Coins for 4* weapons and 150 Krogmo Coins for 5* weapons recipes. The new recipes are as follows.
- A new bomb-series, the Electron Charge. It resembles the Graviton bomb-line but deals Elemental damage instead of Shadow and creates an electric vortex that traps monsters in the core until it detonates. It can be upgraded to the Electron Bomb and Electron Vortex for higher damage and a bigger vortex.
Materials required - Electron Charge 10 Blue Shard 3 Ecto Drop 1 Forbidden Fruit 1 Static Clinger 1 Volt Oil
Materials required - Electron Bomb 15 Blue Shard 4 Ecto Drop 3 Forbidden Fruit 1 Phial of Phear 1 Volt Oil 1 Thunderball 1 Electron Charge (Lv5+)
Materials required - Electron Vortex 20 Blue Shard 5 Ecto Drop 4 Forbidden Fruit 3 Phial of Phear 1 Mug of Misery 1 Thunderball 1 Spark of Life 1 Electron Bomb (Lv10)
- An expansion to the Troika-series, the Grintovec. A heavy sword with a Slight chance of causing Moderate Freeze. Its power and continued line is identical to that of Kamarin, but the Stun has been replaced with Freeze instead, for those who want to completely stop their foes in their tracks. It can be upgraded to an ornate Jalovec and a nasty-looking Triglav with its massive power and Slight chance of causing Strong Freeze.
Materials required - Grintovec 10 Green Shard 3 Brimstone 1 Driftwood 1 Cooling Cell 1 Hailstone 1 Troika
Materials required - Jalovec 15 Green Shard 4 Brimstone 3 Driftwood 1 Redwood 1 Hailstone 1 Perfect Snowball 1 Grintovec (Lv5+)
Materials required - Triglav 20 Green Shard 5 Brimstone 4 Driftwood 3 Redwood 1 Heavy Gear 1 Perfect Snowball 1 Everfrost 1 Jalovec (Lv10)
- The Haze Bomb has received its own line of bombs and introduces the Haze Bomb Mk II. An expansion to the Elemental Status bomb-series, a 3* bomb capable of dealing more Elemental damage and has a Good chance of causing Minor Stun. It can be upgraded to the Haze Burst and Stagger Storm bombs for a greater blast radius and more Elemental damage.
Materials required - Haze Bomb Mk II 10 Light Shard 3 Gel Drop 2 Gel Core 1 Brute Core 1 Haze Bomb
Materials required - Haze Burst 15 Light Shard 4 Gel Drop 3 Gel Core 2 Brute Core 1 Rocky Core 1 Haze Bomb Mk II (Lv5+)
Materials required - Stagger Storm 20 Light Shard 5 Gel Drop 4 Gel Core 3 Brute Core 2 Rocky Core 1 Royal Core 1 Haze Burst (Lv10)
- Yet another Brandish-series has been created and it's designed to leave your enemies in a shock. The Shockburst Brandish makes an appearance as an electric-charged Elemental Sword to expand to the all-powerful Status Brandish-series. These new swords have a Good chance of causing Strong Shock and their charge-attacks are just as explosive as the other Brandish swords. A fine addition to any swordsman's arsenal. It can be upgraded into the more powerful Boltbrand and Voltedge swords.
Materials required - Shockburst Brandish 10 Blue Shard 3 Beast Scale 1 Monster Bone 1 Static Clinger 1 Volt Oil 1 Brandish
Materials required - Boltbrand 15 Blue Shard 4 Beast Scale 3 Monster Bone 1 Rocket Sprocket 1 Volt Oil 1 Thunderball 1 Shockburst Brandish (Lv5+)

- The last weapon available for your tokens is the new Autogun variant, the Toxic Needle. This venomous gun deals Piercing damage as well as having a Slight chance of causing Moderate Poison. This gun can be upgraded to the even more powerful Blight Needle and the horrific Plague Needle with its Slight chance of causing Strong Poison.
Materials required - Toxic Needle 10 Dark Shard 3 Sharp Fang 1 Iron Gear 1 Waste Module 1 Toxic Core 1 Autogun
Materials required - Blight Needle 15 Dark Shard 4 Sharp Fang 3 Iron Gear 1 Phial of Phear 1 Toxic Core 1 Corrosive Acid 1 Toxic Needle (Lv5+)

Finally, we have the new Modules which are placed in your Trinket Slots. These will make you more powerful should you get your hands on one and require a Mod Calibrator to be crafted. You craft them using the specialized Module Alchemy Station next to Sullivan, the Coliseum Rewards Supervisor. Mod Calibrators can be bought for 50 Krogmo Coins each. So I was asked for a Spiral Knights run. I had little to do at the time, so I was 'cool, sure'.
That was my first mistake.
After grueling HOURS getting through floor after floor.. after floor.. We reached OUR DOOM. And then we still had 4 floors to go.
We then reached him.
LORD VANADUKE "This is terrifying."
 "OH DEAR LORD WHY"
 "OHSHITOHSHIT"
 "OH .. SHIT..."
 "OH GOD SO THATS VANADUKE"
"OH GOD OH GOD WE'RE GONNA DIE" And so we did.
