It's free to play GoD. There are options to buy energy if you feel like it. Speaking of energy, the CE market is very good for selling right now.

@Shane- I have a limited amount of time myself, about.... 40 mins from when I type this edit. Then I have to go to dentist. If you can't make it in time, then just hold onto them for me until I get back.

Don't forget about the mailing system. You can use that too.

I read up on some more on the Spiral Knights forums, it seems my base-coverage is less strategic than planning for specific resistances...

Probably putting up the full list later, but I am interested in the Haze Bomb and Magic Cloak recipes. 1250 there, but I'll have to save up and grind more money for the others...

Fairly sure I've given up.
I <3 how nobody comments on my launcher, but everyone is using it.

Or at least Rescla and Shane and I are.

In-game money?
Because if I have to use RL money then screw it.

Both in game money and RL money can be used.

@Speedy- I don't have steam, so there's no reason for me to use it :P

Oh yes, because god forbid not being forced to get stuff with real money and it not being necessary to actually do so.. huh, looks like I'm breaking down my own point.

In my earlier calculations I neglected to mention Tier gates. While you wont be able to do the entire thing in a single run, you can easily start off from a later tier gate and finish it anyway.

There is NOT A SINGLE REASON to EVER, EVER, EVER use REAL MONEY.

ALSO; THERE IS NOTHING PEOPLE WITH REAL MONEY 'HAVE' BETTER THAN YOU.

Just Energy that they can trade for money or use to keep on going. It's more a money equals more gaming time than money equals I am better than you.

Basically it works like what Speedy said here. You can buy Energy with crowns (in-game currency), but you can also buy it with real-life money if you wish to do so. Unfortunately the market is easy to manipulate, so Energy is hard to grind for at the moment. Seeing how it's steadily rising, I can only assume it's going to get harder the longer you wait. The only thing money can get you is more Energy. While this equals more gameplay, that is all there is to it besides preserving more crowns. It is optional, but it is recommended if you have money to spare and want to spend money on it. I did so because I happened to have a way of paying that wouldn't really affect my economy. It doesn't mean that anyone else has to.

Not sure if anyone is still around playing the game due to me not being able to get on much, but I had some questions on an armor build. I was thinking of my final set being something like this:

Valkyrie Helm
Skolver Coat
Grey Owlite Shield
Dread Venom Striker (I originally was going to with Leviathan Blade for damage since I'm laggy, but DVS looks more useful overall)
And maybe Blitz Needle for a gun

Good grief, I should learn to pay more attention.

For those of you who are paying, or consider paying money for Energy, there's a special offer going now that ends at the 6th of May, 3 PM PDT*.

If you make a purchase of $9.95 worth you will receive one of the following items as a bonus:

Chapeau of the Red Rose
Chapeau of the Black Rose
Chapeau of the White Rose
Tabard of the Red Rose
Tabard of the Black Rose
Tabard of the White Rose

The item you get will be random, so if you're looking for a special item, you may want to look around the market (or trade with Guild Members who made a purchase).
Do note that multiple payments under the price of $9.95 will not stack, and payment over $9.95 will still give you one item, even if you paid double.
You can, however, pay $9.95 multiple times and get multiple times. Do mind your own wallet, though.

Last note: all of these are costume-only, which means they can only be equipped in the costume slot and give no bonuses whatsoever - but they look cool!
Rose Regalia, as the set is called, is inspired by the musketeer look, so if you're into looking like a mighty, heroic musketeer this could be something for you. They look pretty good with the Flourish swords.

* I am not entirely sure of this timezone, if anyone knows please tell me.

And there's more! What's more? Swords!

They've added a whole bunch of swords to the game, so now there's plenty to choose from if you couldn't fixate your mind yet. (How, though?)
The list goes as follows, directly from the news post!
  • Sixteen new swords have been added!
  • All-new Flourish family of Piercing damage swords! Starting from the basic 2* Flourish...
  • Swift Flourish (3*), Grand Flourish (4*) and Final Flourish (5*)
  • Rigadoon (3*), Daring Rigadoon (4*) Fearless Rigadoon (5*)
  • Flamberge (3*), Fierce Flamberge (4*), Furious Flamberge (5*)
  • The Brandish family is enhanced and expanded!
  • The basic 2* Brandish now has an explosive charge attack.
  • The 3* Fireburst Brandish, Iceburst Brandish and Nightblade all have new appearances.
  • The Nightblade's tooltip now correctly states that it deals Normal and Shadow damage.
  • The Fireburst and Iceburst Brandish lines now do Normal and Elemental damage.
  • All three of those sword lines now extend all the way to 5*...
  • Blizzbrand (4*) and Glacius (5*)
  • Blazebrand (4*) and Combuster (5*)
  • Silent Nightblade (4*) and Acheron (5*)

More possibilites have been made, so make sure to look out for your type of sword.
