Does anyone have this game? It looks really cool and fun and well, colorfull! Is this game good or is it bad? I really want to buy it,-sigh- well if I can find it first. My gamestop is always sold out. But if I do find it should I buy it?

Don't play with fire, kids.

Don't own it, but I read that it's a pretty good game for a Sonic game. There are some minor frustrating areas, and co-op isn't excellent, but those are the only negatives I really read. Try Amazon or eBay if you want to buy it. |

It's supposed to be criminally short, so I'd suggest you rent it. It looks really fun to play though. The game is really beautiful for a Sonic "RUNRUNRUNDON'TLOOK" title, and I've heard some gorgeous music from it(Planet Wisp anyone?). If you really liked Sonic then you'll be pleased by its honesty to its 2-dimensional roots, but the 3d parts it adds aren't obtrusive. Boss fights are a little simplistic though. |

Ok well I have sonic unleashed and some reviewers said its like(and a little different) that but better. Also sonic has a new voice acter,I like it. Well anyway I thought about it, and I want to get this game. I loved sonic unleashed so I'm sure to love this one.

I'm saving my money for the new game rather than this one. Colors didn't look very attractive to me, and looking over some of the feedback I'm glad I didn't buy it. But then again, it's your call I suppose. |

Confirmed for doki-doki tier.

Colours was pretty good. It is pretty similar to the day levels of Sonic Unleashed. Note: All my judgement is based on the WII version of the game. As Dodgy said, it's insanely short. It's not really worth buying because you'll probably be very disappointed by its length. It's definitely worth a rental, though! Edited by Milk, Apr 25 2011, 12:56 AM.

I've not played the DS version, but I greatly recommend the Wii version. I've played through the vast majority of it and enjoyed every second of it. It's fast, yes, but it also slows down for some platforming and a little problem-solving. It feels like the Genesis Sonics in that regard. It made the game a good bit more than runrunrun, with the wisps adding some nice gameplay elements without feeling tacked on or intrusive. The level design has been nice as well. I'm told there's a weird difficulty curve, but I'm yet to really encounter it. You could probably buzz through the game fairly quickly if you're just going for completion, but if you slow down and explore, trying to get the red rings, you'll see how large each stage actually is. I'm not even a big Sonic guy, but I've happily played each stage a half-dozen times before moving on to the next, just trying to get the red rings and a higher rank. The boss fights haven't been the best I've ever seen, but that's my only real complaint. The first was way too easy. The second was a nice change-up, but the difficulty felt a little cheap. I loved the third boss, though. I've played most stages, but not many of the later bosses. I'm fairly certain the later bosses are recolors of the first three, which feels like a bit of a cop-out, though. So yeah, some of the bosses aside, I can't really find a bad thing to say about it. I've enjoyed it a great deal. I only wish there was a decent guide to the red rings on Gamefaqs... |

I played through the Wii one for my channel (assuming it's ok to post a link to the playlist, tell me if it's not) if you're interested in seeing someone's first impressions of the game. Overall I was very happy, even though I'm in the camp of "Sonic fan who tends to see the good in most of the games" to start with. My only gripe really lies with the step down in the controls with respect to Unleashed Day - to me those controls were the best 3D Sonic controls ever (even better than Adventure 2, although they did well for the type of game it was), as some of the precise control felt lost compared to what I was used to speedrunning with. However the levels do go back and forth more than in Unleashed, so it makes sense that they made it easier to go backwards... but they really dumbed down stuff like Quick Step and drifting, making it much harder than necessary to use them. Overall though, obvious "shortness" aside (come on, it's still longer than the originals and nobody complained about their length did they?) Naka's right, there really isn't much to complain about. The music is stellar as always, the game itself is very pretty, and the gameplay is on the whole one of the best 3D ones yet (even though half of it is 2D that isn't the point here! The 3D that is there is still done very well). So if you're remotely into Sonic I'd definitely give it a go. |

played the wii one. Its alright but its double jump is very stiff and awkward. it is a descent game to rent and has amazing music but at 3-6 hours of gameplay, I really wouldn't reccomend buying it. |
