In fairness, Nintendo's first hit had a carpenter climbing up scaffolding to fight a monkey rolling barrels that would eventually turn into fireballs at the bottom. Their second had a guy jumping into blocks to grab mushrooms and who couldn't go left very far. I'm willing to suspend disbelief at their logic. |

Charmander: It would be in balanced if one of the 3 starters could DIE while while the others won't. Also. Just cuz he was hit whit surf dosen't mean his flame would go out in an instant. For example his body would get hit but he sticks his tail out of the wave. Also fire dose not instantly go out from wather. For example if it would then fire fighters wouldn't have such touble puting out building fires. Also something feeds charmanders fire cuz it dose not go out on it's own over time. So possibly his fire is somewhat more powerful then a regular one. Amnesia and SDEF: Well amnesia would mean loss of some of your intelect and I think as such you would fall back to your instincts and the original special attacks wear Fire, Tunder and the such from wich instinctive beings ( animals ) run like hell while humans might get interested and want to see such things and then foolishly get cought in it. |

How, after killing thousands of monsters in RPGs, they keep spawning with the same level that it's predecessors? I mean, I can understand that they can reproduce at a really fast rate, but they are already at level 21 (80-99 in the last areas) just after being born? |

Fairly sure I've given up.

Also, Sephiroth kills Aerith. AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT. In related news, if you play Dissidia, you'd realize this 'damage / not damage' factor. While they may be cutting up enemies, they're only breaking their will to fight, their bravery. It isn't until they do an ACTUAL devastating attack that it kills their HP. I think the same applies with the Aerith case- While normally they're getting minor damage, enough to eventually faint, that stab was a devastating attack. Unexpected, backstab, and Sephiroth being dozens levels higher.. if it was Dissidia, I'd have believed it. I think you can pretty much use this same ideology for the other RPGs, too. They just do the ACTUAL damage until AFTER the enemies are all defeated. I mean, you dont lose until YOUR ENTIRE PARTY is gone, right? Because when all guys are unconcious, thats the moment the monsters can go 'whoo, food!' and kill you. |

That is more or less basicaly what I said and yeah I aply this to all rpgs. As an rpg is only an abstract simulation of fighting. When thinking realisticly it is stupid to think that the rpg characters take a few milion stabs and slashes whit full force throu the corse of the game cuz they would louse limbs and die in the first dungeon or so if they really took all that. So damage and geting hit is only symbolical to the characters fighting and starting to louse their stamina and such. And yeah as you explained it. When all your guys are down is when your party actualy gets killed by the monsters. One more evidence to this is when you actually have to louse a fight. In some RPGs there are fights you just can't win so you have to louse to advance the story but that means that you have to let all your guys hp drop to zero. At that point all of them are dead? Hardly. If they wear dead then they would not just wake up being captured by the enemy and such and it can't be that the enemy used the Phoenix Down on you cuz in battle if you get a Phoenix Down you imidiatly wake up while in such events like this you usualy wake up all by yourself in a cell or something so there is no one around who could possibly use the recovery item and also you wake up after a long time has passed -> enough time for you to regain consciusness.
