What do you mean? >_>. You mean the ponies? Don't forget Milk, too. So it turns out Capcom was onstage for E3 stuff. Cole from inFamous is apparently going to be in Tekken vs. Street Fighter. How does that work? Edited by Wool, Jun 7 2011, 08:17 PM.

Renzo is too sexy for himself

I now take back what I said about Nintendo not catering to their loyal fans. Far from it, actually. There are so many hot titles coming out for the Wii U that it makes my head spin. I wonder if any of these titles will still be GOOD however, given Nintendo's rep with 3rd person parties. I'm still worried about Smash Bros. The fact that it only got a mention and has no screens or trailers still reads massive train wreck for me. That's supposed to be a massive hype title, and you can't deny that. After all, both the GameCube and the Wii really took off with their respective SSB titles, and the N64 just snowballed with it's title. If it's just being treated like so run-off-the-mill title, then I don't have high hopes for it. I would have rather had them not announce and have a trailer and pics out for it later, than it having just a mention at an E3 conference. You can accuse me of overreacting, but my points still stand. |

The only thing that got me really excited at Nintendo's press conference was Four Swords, which I can't wait for. It comes in September, and it's going to be win. |

They only announced it was planned. Sakurai is still working on Kid Icarus, and SSB4 hasn't even entered Preproduction. So this one is going to be a LONG way off. Pull up a chair, it's gonna be a while. |

I just honestly think Nintendo shouldn't even be going for a new system right now. The N3DS is doing horrifically right now, and a bad launch on a product such as Wii U could bring them down for a while. |

I wouldn't count the 3DS down so fast. Yeah, it undersold, but there are still many strong titles waiting to be released, and its E-store just opened. Honestly, the Wii is doing worse imo, and if they can replace it with the Wii U fast enough, and if that's successful, then they will pick up momentum greater than any other system right now. |

Lots of hate for Nintendo here... The 3DS is suffering from a lack of games and very stiff competition. Not from Sony, from smartphones. It's also completely missing a killer app. Super Street Fighter 4 3D is a nice piece, but it can't take a system to the next level by itself. Say what you want about Zelda or Smash or Mario or Final Fantasy, they move systems like nobody's business. I'd love to see the PS3 sales the week FF13 came out. The 3DS needs one of those titles, and I think Ocarina 3D will be it. Lots of gamers have been holding out for that one. The Wii U hasn't played its hand at all to me. I don't know where you guys think it's targeting casuals; I could easily see this spring both ways. Nintendo can use it to draw in more casuals, but I think that market is shrinking. Or, it can use it to sell itself to hardcore players. Like I said earlier, that thing really makes me want to try an RPG. One of the bigger problems with the battle system in FF13 was how much slower it was to select attacks than use auto. Imagine just tapping the series of attacks you want to perform. And unlike the Wiimote, it's easier to select exact choices. Don't get me wrong; it may still implode and make me hate it. But I'm an optimist; I see it working better than Kinect, which I think Microsoft is going to run into a Guitar Hero/Wii Sports problem with. A lot of the people with Kinects don't buy games. |

@MastaDJ While you provide good points, those are big if's, especially for Nintendo. If the Wii U ends up bombing, that's a big loss for Nintendo. I mean, Iwata even said it wasn't cheap (I think? It's hard to understand him with the English speaking in a thick Japanese accented voice) and the games didn't look to impressive. I'll admit, Nintendo's probably going to attempt to keep their current fanbase while trying to draw in the hardcores with this one. And I'm not counting the 3DS out at all, just saying that it's sells have been less than lackluster. But I feel this is due to a less than lackluster current line-up of games. But what was talked about at E3 most definitely got me excited for the 3DS. I'd entirely forgotten about the Virtual Console System for the 3DS, and with all of the titles that are in works (with some coming out soon) I might just start saving up for one. @Ghoul02 After Microsoft's press conference, I only see positive things for Kinect. As you stated yourself that it takes just one good release to really push them units, and I agree with you there. Once you get the technology in the right hands, your console or add-on or what-have-you will only fly higher, and I think Kinect just got cleared for take-off. Mainly a personal thing here about something from YouTube

Uh oh, Nintendo might have just hurt themselves here. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110804-E3-Nintendo-Boss-Admits-Third-Party-Wii-U-Footage-Came-from-Other-Platforms Honestly, I was actually thinking the footage was real, but after this, I have even more doubts about Wii U. This was a bad idea for Nintendo. I don't know who came up with this idea, but it was a bad one. If they didn't have anything good ready, they shouldn't have even talked about it, IMO. |
