Uh oh, Nintendo might have just hurt themselves here.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110804-E3-Nintendo-Boss-Admits-Third-Party-Wii-U-Footage-Came-from-Other-Platforms

Honestly, I was actually thinking the footage was real, but after this, I have even more doubts about Wii U. This was a bad idea for Nintendo. I don't know who came up with this idea, but it was a bad one. If they didn't have anything good ready, they shouldn't have even talked about it, IMO.
I think (I didn't get a chance to listen to this posted video) that the games were from other platforms, but they were running on the Wii U system, showcasing ONLY the technical aspects of the Wii U. Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned this during the conference itself..

Of course, Reggie may have said in the interview what the link claims... but from what I read and from the Conference, it doesn't sound that way.

It's official: Wii U will NOT have friend codes. They will fall in line with everyone else and have a basic profile system.

ABOUT DAMN TIME TOO. Friend codes sucked huge donkey balls. I still am left wondering how they can possibly screw this up though >_>

This.

Friend Codes were the worst invention since Al Gore's Manbearpig.

I AM looking rather beautiful today.
May I ask why exactly Friend Codes sucked?
Because I never used them at all.

Friend Codes sucked because you needed one, a different one, for EVERY GAME!!!! It got annoying getting friend codes eventually

They made it hell to find anyone online. Not only did you have to get their system code, but you had to get a different code for each game that they played. It sucked.

The 3DS sort of fixed it by gettting rid of all the 1-code-per-game nonsense, but it really shouldn't exist at this rate.

Those friend codes suck a lot. What is also bad about it is that if you delete your old gamefiles or say you wanted to play your game on someone elses DS, it'll completely need a new code to play online and basically revert it to "noob" setting, like you're playing brand new again without results.

It really does suck. Even trying to play with others is insane. It should be like every other normal gaming system out there. Just enter the person's name information and their server host or whatever simple information you need and presto! No need to wait and what not.

As for E3 2011... I was very disappointed. Nintendo however is usually always good because I been a gamer with them since the beginning. But Sony... screw you. You were very good during your first time in the beginning, but as you pressed on and further your ways of making new systems and gaming better, also trying to think you can make ends met with your so called policies and protections, you forgot one thing, the "consumer's respect".

You always need customer's respect if you want them to actually purchase your products and not prohibit certain things they intended to purchase things from you. I lost respect for them, even after they removed a feature I used a lot which was suppose to be permanent. People who use linux knows, and that one of them is me who used the "Other OS" option. After they were hacked recently, I also learned how cheap they are, well cheap sounds very low, I highly doubt they are but still... Using old security hardware? That I am absolutely mad at. Makes me feel as if they are being cheapskates. Anyways...

As for Xbox... I'm not really into them as their console is just a cut down PC. No offense to those who use it, if I could I would play with anyone if I had the system, but I like my PC as it can handle the games better than their system. Until I see prices drop on the console, I'll probably buy it as there are some very awesome games I would love to play, but can't because of them being exclusive to the console. Their conference... was kind of odd to me, even showing a kids game on E3. I can completely understand for the young viewers, but come on... This is E3. Not exactly a place to show off their kinect capabilites. Sure, it would be more appropriate as an advertisement for television, but not like this.

My post is probably isn't exactly that very informative, it mostly more of a rant I guess, but hey, I'm just trying to conversate and get with today's news.

Another thing worth mentioning about the Wii U, it will not be backwards compatible with the Gamecubes games nor controllers. (not bothering with checking grammar) :P
Also, I'm happy that the friend code system will be getting abolished. Honestly, I never used it.
As for the DS Kirby game, it doesn't look bad. From what I saw of the trailer for it, it made me think of the mini-mario games (sort of) mixed with canvas curse (because of the touched-based controls). I'll admit, the Kirby Wii game looks more inviting and I'm anticipating that one more.(big Kirby fan) And with all the good games coming out for the 3DS soon, I'm rethinking about my plan to wait till next year to get the system. :want:
Nintendo fan and proud of it. :prance:
