Lovely. More info about the exact stuff they SHOULDN'T be focusing on. It's like they're trying to make me buy the game used in 1 or 2 years. Or that they're not entirely confident in DLC, so they're trying to justify it by bringing it up at every turn. It's telling me that Squeenix has NO idea what they're doing with the Final Fantasy franchise. 4 Heroes of Light was a great idea for a spinoff. But we're going on 6 or 7 years without a demo for FFv13. Final Fantasy 13 was extremely polarizing. 14 turned into a PR nightmare. Theatrythm seems interesting but 3 years too late (should have been done during the music games craze of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, or at least around Elite Beat Agents/Quenden). And let's not even mention Luminous, their new game engine. Crystal Tools took 4 years to complete. There are 2 games that use it, and one coming in the next year, if I'm not mistaken. Can they just turn over the entire company to Nomura and Uematsu? Edited by Ghoul, Oct 13 2011, 09:54 AM.

Well, they won't announce useful info unless they're at Comic-con or something, so this is all I got

I'm not arguing with you lol. I just don't think that them focusing on DLC is good or smart. It's just frustrating. That's literally been the only news on the game for the last month. I'm not saying I want a full plot or anything. But, it's like telling consumers: I'm going to try to rip you off and the game's not even out yet. I swear, I will rage if vs13 gets this kind of focus on DLC. Edited by Ghoul, Oct 13 2011, 09:57 AM.

Depending on what they do, DLC might actually make the game even better. The replayability of FF13-2 is already pretty high, and they're talking about adding in quests, not just stealing money (read the link :P). Basically, if done right, they can make this game into a never-ending RPG, which could be AWESOME. Every month, a new quest available, fighting off gigantic monsters, building your inventory of assists, and continuing to get stronger and stronger. If done wrong, it will basically be underpowered bows and swords, and a few pretty costumes. However, it sounds like the majority of DLC will be like the OMEGA pre-order DLC... defeat an enemy to gain its crystal or some other prize. I'd like to see a Chrystarium Expansion as a DLC in about 6-8 months, complete with monsters to challenge your newfound strength scattered throughout Pulse and Cocoon, like the Long Gui. I'd gladly pay about $15-20 for a DLC like that once I beat the game. Think of it like with Rock Band, which is the absolute best use of DLC ever, imo. The DLC MAKES the game. The producers constantly are asking the fans "What do you want to see here?" If this game can capture that level of enthusiasm, then FF13-2 will be an amazing and fresh game for months, if not years to come. Edited by JBRam, Oct 13 2011, 10:48 AM.

You wanted more info? How about a brand new 7+ minute trailer that shows how Lightning was separated from everyone, gives more info on sidequests, etc., and shows a ton of gameplay? Just found this online. Warning: Major FF13 spoilers. Edited by JBRam, Oct 13 2011, 01:07 PM.

I'm not going to retread the DLC thing again lol. I think I've kinda beaten that horse enough. And you're not going to be able to change my mind on the situation. If I buy the game new, for what they're offering me, just make it a free update. I'll have to check the trailer out sometime when I'm not scrambling around. Edited by Ghoul, Oct 13 2011, 01:19 PM.

I have to say, i loved that trailer. And i saw one thing in it JB's going to hate, MINIGAME TOWN! YEA! Also, at 2:18, i saw something interesting. They picked an ability and it filled the ATB bar Attack Blitz Attack Attack so maybe we can actually have "abilities" where we customize what goes into the ATB bar instead of going through the list and picking things manually. On the earlier topic, the DLC will aggervate me if it is full price for all of them, but i think most will be about .50$ each, so that seems like a bit of a fair price. Sure it could come with the game, but at least it isn't 20 dollars for rehashed maps like call of duty. And that version with the English everything but voicing? Square Enix take my money now. I swear more games need to do that |

Actually, what you saw was them holding right and selecting Abilities, an option available in FF13. This fills the ATB Guage with your last selected Abilities. The thing that popped up after was the enemy's name, Twilight Odin. One thing I saw was the addition of Paradigms: Cerberus-X and Aggression-X showed up in the video. I have no idea how they are different from the normal versions, which also showed up. Change Leader was an available option, thankfully. There was at least one new normal enemy: Gendayaks. I've never seen that in FF13-2. Also, that blue thing off to the left seemed to maybe have a use... still undisclosed though. Edited by JBRam, Oct 13 2011, 02:37 PM.

Oh, derp. I guess that's what happens when you watch the video in a really small screen cause your too lazy to get to open a new tab. I should have remembered that from the time i played the FF-XIII Edited by altoguy16499, Oct 13 2011, 03:04 PM.
