Ok, I've had something on my mind for a while now, I'm not asking if I can do this, I just wanna get peoples opinion on it. I can't stress this enough. I'm not asking for permission to make one, just want a opinion. So ya, vote up in the polls^ To be honest, I might not do it myself.

:omfg: Wow, I feel really retarded for posting this.

EDIT: wow, I put checkboxes instead of just 1 vote per person, now I feel even more retarded. JUST CHECK ONE PLZ.

A creative server would be nice for people to make things on but I can't really see an adventure server working out.

As you know, since I've helped you before, even one overpowered person can fairly quickly get anyone up to their level in a couple hours. Imagine multiple people, all with endgame equipment on a server and then some new guy joins. The fun would be completely removed from the game as they would see everything in about 10 minutes and obtain everything in an hour.

Or on the reverse side, they could join and everyone would be busy with their projects. Not wanting to ruin the game for them, the person essentially ends up soloing on a multiplayer server, with spawn rates meant for a party of anywhere from 3 - 5 or 6. It would take a long time and be very frustrating for them to get to the point where they could join everyone else.

A purely creative server could work but it still poses the problem of excluding everyone not at least able to attempt the skeletron boss.

Ya, I know. I really thought this was a stupid idea, it just kept eating at me so I just had to see a thread. I'll count your vote as a no.

I, myself thought chose "No"

It's not a "no". I think a creative server could do really well if people wanted to build things.

You just have to keep in mind that you can't please everyone and some people will be left out.

Oh! I know!
Two separate spawn points!
Since beginners really can't travel to the end of a map without being mauled to death, we could put a spawn point there for people. That way beginners can have a little fun while most adventuring can still be had. Creative stuff at original spawn :D

Or the other spawn point could be deeeeepppp somewhere underground.
OR IN THE SKY. AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET THERE WOULD BE A COMBINATION OF ROCKET BOOTS, CLOUD IN A BOTTLE, AND GRAPPLING HOOKS.

Uh Wool, you can't manipulate the world like on Minecraft. Well, that I know of.

It's called beds :|

A base in the sky for higher leveled players would be easier, since you could just jump down to the beginner place :3
And the base could be hidden away from spawn, so that beginners can't just stack dirt to the sky.

Moth points out some excellent points, but there is something I feel the need to point out.

There are some areas in the game (Corruption, Underground Jungle, Underworld) that I absolutely will not explore, even with knowledge of where they are, and some awesome equipment (Starfury, Enchanted Boomerang, Lucky Horseshoe). The only reason I do not visit them is because no matter what, I am certain I'm just going to get overwhelmed by the constant spawning enemies. It's almost like I'd need the power of two people...OH WAIT!!!

Honestly, I'd just like to have an extra person to help me out through the different areas, what with the whole 'Two Heads Better Than One' Theory. I'd just like to see what other people can do, and what people can do together.

Actually that was one of my points.

I brought up the issue of not having anyone around to help since having someone with way better gear than you would make everything really, really easy, and thus, less fun.

Regarding the individual areas mentioned:
Corruption can be a little tough at first but with the right armor and a dependable projectile, it's really not a big deal.
Underground Jungle DOES in fact have pretty much the highest spawn limit in the game, but that's because of how it is. With all the overhangs, and man eater plants, the spawn rate is surprisingly bearable with a decent projectile.
About Hell... believe it or not, in singleplayer it has the smallest spawn limit in the game. no more than two enemies will ever spawn in hell at once. The real trick to surviving it is fighting off the bone serpents until you get two fire imps and just swat away the fireballs while you mine (think Meteorite mining). Yes having another person can help but not for Hell. A friend and I went down there and it was a huge headache. After trying it in singleplayer we pretty much decided going through it in multi wasn't worth the effort.

And I'm not trying to say "help is bad, go play singleplayer." Having a friend help you out is actually an enormous load off your shoulders sometimes, but it's not as much fun unless you're in the same place they are.
