Go ahead, but it's really easy to exhaust an adventure map imo.

The only way I can see this work out would be if everyone who joined were forced to start anew by creating an entirely new character just for this server and closing entries once the server is full. Why close it? Well, not everyone can join in at the same time, and logging in to find a village and upgraded characters - being the one new guy with nothing is going to grow not-fun. Quickly, I'd believe.

Sah, yeah. If you're doing this, I advise you to only accept fresh characters (no gear aside from starters copper pickaxe & axe and 100 HP, 0 Mana) and that you close it from new people once all the slots have been filled.
Of course, this means that it would be limited to those who were accepted so it wouldn't make much of a VE Terraria server, but then again, it'd be ruining good fun otherwise. Or at least that's how I see it.

Take this as you may, but that's the only way I can see this properly working out for those who want to enjoy multiplayer to its full extent.

well even then it doesn't really work.

I think the idea of an adventure server between anyone but a group of good friends can't really work.
What if not everyone is there? Then the one guy that's not there becomes "that guy" who's behind everyone else.
I really feel that unless you're setting out with a specific goal for the day a community adventure server can't really work.

Like I said, a creative server could work but it would still exclude people who aren't endgame yet.

Of course one solution to things could be to put the server up at a specific time every day or week, but that poses the problem of people simply not being able to attend any or even every date. It would still boil down to a select few compatible people playing together.

IMO the best way to go about playing Terraria with VE would be to make a skype chat for it or something. When you see a lot of people online, you can put up a server or ask someone else to.

This, pretty much (without the blue). Even between a group of IRL friends, in a fairly generic mmorpg, I have trouble keeping everybody within reasonably close levels. One person leveled way ahead of us, and now he just doesn't get to play with us for the most part until we catch up within a certain range. A few people level slower than the rest of us, so we spend most of our time catching them up, which we can only do because we've kept the range within like 2-3 levels.

I think it would be nice to have a server. Pretty much everthing else I have to say has already been said one way or the other.
