The Impossible Scientist!

I love that you were all enthusiastic about the "Hover surfing", but the only one who made a comment about it was Abadlex... B. Sit on the grass Deciding you'd prefer comfort over appearance, you and Mark take sit just off to the side, on the grass. Sighing, Mark turns to you. "I'm actually REALLY excited about this!" he says, with an excited look in his eyes. Smiling, you look at your watch. 2:59PM. Looks like you really did just make it. Looking up, you see that you made the right choice of sitting on the grass. The seats are complete full, with some people squeezing their friend onto the seat with them, and loads of people standing at the back. "Good thing we can sit near the stage isn't it?" Leanne tells you, and sits down. "THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY FOR 100 YEARS, CREATED BY A SINGLE MAN. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BEHOLD!!!" "Wait, that wasn't the PC..." Mark says, as the three of you look over to the stage, to see smoke pour out of the box, and the sides slowly lower, revealing a large, bronze dome like object. On the front, you see what appears to be a door, with a large, fancy looking handle on it, and a shiny glass window in the center. On the left hand side, there are large gears poking out, which clicked and whirred as they span, and threw little sparks out. On the right, there is a monitor with a tube running up the side. In the tube, you can see a flashing liquid, which is seems to be flashing every colour imaginable, and loops round the monitor, before going back into the machine. On the top, you can see some little pistons, that appear to be bouncing up and down, with steam puffing out of them every so often. "Damn, that's on fancy looking machine!" Leanne says, as she goes over to. Standing up, you and a few of the other scientists and officials go and have a proper look at the machine. It is warm to the touch, but also feels cold at the same time, like it doesn't belong here. You shudder, and go to the screen. A few people are there, trying to figure out what it is, and trying to read the information on the screen. Deciding to leave them to it, you head over to the other side, and start inspecting the cogs, when suddenly you see smoke appear, and the door open. "Welcome everyone! I'm so glad to see you all here today! Now, if you're all ready, I shall demonstrate the machine..." You can't quite make out the figure who has stepped out, but you know they must have been in there the whole time. "Hey, come over here, it's starting!" you hear Mark say, in a loud whisper. Looking round, you see the others returning to their seats, or going back to the edge of the stage. A. Go back to Mark B. Stand at the edge C. Stay and wait for the smoke to clear Edited by Retro, Mar 19 2012, 03:03 PM.

I know I normally wait for 5 votes before continuing, but I'm bored, and this is slipping down the list. I'm also curious how much of the previous update you read Rising, since it's stage smoke, and not cigarette smoke... Also, POSSIBLE SPOILER TIME!!! C. Wait for the smoke to clear You take a slight step back, as to try and get a clearer view of the person. You stand there for a second, before realising that Mark has crawled forward, and is pulling at your coat. "Get over here!" he hisses, and gestures over to Leanne. You smack his hand off, and look up to see the man has come over to you. "I can see you like the machine. She's a really work of art, isn't she?" You look at the man, feeling confused. Perched on his head is what appears to be a Trilby hat, tilted to the side, and part of it looks bent, like it has been sat on. Under the hat, you can see a mess of brown hair, which flies off in different directions, and looks to be about shoulder length. In place of the standard lab coat, the man is wearing what appears to be a long, black, cotton trench coat, which reaches his knees. The collar, which has been folded up, reaches up to the bottom of the hat. You can see some silver buttons running down one side, which glisten in the sunlight, all displaying the same insignia as your badge. Under the coat, you can see what appears to be a Ghostbusters T-shirt, with the logo fading slightly. Stepping back slightly, you look down, to see the man wearing dark blue skinny jeans, which crumple slightly at the bottom. On his feet, you see a pair of old, tattered, black converse, with the rubber soles cracked on one side. You look up, confused. He doesn't exactly look like a scientist, but at the same time, he does. You smile nervously. "I'm sorry sir, he's a bit enthusiastic!" Mark says, as he jumps up and stands next to you. "Ah, Mark! So this is the man I saved earlier is it? The pleasures all mine" the man says, as he smiles and shakes your hand. You can feel Mark giving you a nudge as he does, as if prompting you to say something. A. Introduce yourself B. Thank him C. Stand there gob-smacked. It's the boss! |
