Honestly, one of my favorite games of the Gamecube. An action/adventure game with comical situations and the like. This game probably takes place after Super Mario Sunshine due to King Boo being there and something he says near the end. One day Luigi receives a letter containing a map to a mansion he won out of the blue. Mario hears about this and being jealous storms off to the mansion first, unfortunately disappearing. As soon as Luigi gets there though, he's surprised by how the mansion looks. Definitely not like the one in the picture. He goes up the steps unsure of what to expect. When he enters the mansion and examines, an eerie light holding a key shows up and the second he spots it it disappears, dropping the key. Maybe it's for a door in the mansion? Trying the key at the door to the Parlor with success, he enters the room and spots ghosts, and screeches. An old man then shows up trying to suck up the ghosts into a vacuum but falls to the floor and is dragged around the room until the ghosts break free and disappear. You then meet him and he introduces himself as Professor E. Gadd. E. Gadd explains how the mansion just showed up out of thin air one day and that it's full of ghosts, more unfortunately the ghosts he made into portraits in his youth, better known as Portrait Ghosts. He gives Luigi the iconic Poltergust 3000 which is one of the items in Mario that Luigi is known by and Luigi then heads off to the mansion in search of his brother, and to capture the Portrait Ghosts.(God it's hard to get every Portrait Ghost in one suction, practically took me a year thanks to that stinking Sir Weston, but I finally did it!) The game is split up into areas which are further split up by rooms. Each room has some sort of a gimmick to it, from it being a certain ghost who appears to interaction between objects in the room and so on so forth. Each area ends with a Boss Ghost, which will then drop a key opening the next area. It also has puzzles like for example a way to get through a room to capturing a Portrait Ghost. Regardless, amazing game, I would recommend it to someone who likes the theme or its style of gameplay. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is the sequel to the original. One night in the ever eerie Evershade Valley where ghosts are peaceful due to the sacred artifact known as the Dark Moon, E. Gadd asks Luigi if he could help him get the broken pieces of the Dark Moon in order to restore peace in Evershade Valley. This time around, equipped with the Poltergust 5000 and his trusty flashlight now with the Strobulb feature for stunning ghosts and Dark-Light Device which reveals hidden objects. The ghosts will also cleverly use objects to shield themselves from light, so fighting these will be a lot less linear than usual. This game will also focus on strategic and tactical decisions and methods. With multiple mansions now, there's tons of content and scenery changes, from your typical creepy mansion to a frozen mine to an ancient factory above lost civilizations' tombs. Fairly sure I've given up.

Luigi's Mansion puts Luigi in the scaredycat role, even if he does save Mario at the end. > Wasn't too happy about that. |

Yeah, but it's still an amazing game. I'll have to replay the first one when I've moved. Maybe I'll stream it... Retro add it to the list |

Well, meanwhile some of us wait for the game, how about differing the first from the sequel. I'll probably make the topic for both games, not much reason to make a separate topic. |

Y'know, if you're gonna make the topic wider, might as well update that opening post with a tad more information.. Screenshots, videos, short explanation, etc. |

Or they could ask people to help them make the OP. Well that, or you could have separate topics, and let me make the Luigi's Mansion 1 topic. Since, you know, I could give it a proper OP with all the pictures and videos and stuff...
