Saw a list on Gamefaqs, and it got me wondering, if I could choose 8 characters to form an ultimate crossover JRPG party, who would I choose? I finally came up with:

Aigis: P3/FES/Portable, Jack of all Trades

Aigis, to me is the most powerful of the Fools in the Persona series. I place Arisato above her, but well.... I'll not spoil why he's not my first choice. And unlike the other fools, she has a much more defined personality.

Beatrix: FF9, Paladin

Beatrix is just that hard to beat. I mean, she's ridiculously powerful, has white magic and a kickass sword. No doubts about this one.

Kireek: Phantasy Star Online, Warrior

Kireek is just a tank. The guy is intentionally overpowered, a giant robot, and he wields a scythe. How could I not pick him?

Amelia: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Heavy Armor

Amelia is one of those characters who starts okay and becomes unbeatable in Fire Emblem. There are just a few of them in each game. Amelia takes no coddling, and she levels up at a ridiculous rate. Couple that with her insane growths, and she's one of the top units in any Fire Emblem game.

Cheria: Tales of Graces f, Mage

Two words: Adorable, Indignation. She uses knives instead of the typical staves as a bonus. Easily the best character in Tales of Graces.

Marche: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Thief

Why use him as a thief? I dunno, I just seemed to find my best weapons for him as a thief, especially after you teach him double sword as a Ninja. He hits hard, is fast, and I know an exploit to level him up rather quickly. Really hard to find something to neglect here. He's definitely in.

Joshua: The World Ends With You, Resident Badass Psychic

Joshua is unique in that when you first add him to your party, you will despise his existence. He's a cool character, but going from Shiki's simplicity to his method of attack is a huge curve. Deal with it for a few days, however, and you wind up with by far the most powerful partner in the game. Adding his personality in only makes him cooler.

Mickey: Kingdom Hearts, Red Mage.

I'm going to give Mickey my final nod. He's really well rounded, although he does lean towards speed just a bit. Still, he's by far the best incarnation of Mickey in any recent series, and definitely fun to play as.

Runner Ups:
Estelle (ToV) - Paladin, just outclassed by Beatrix
Beast (KH) - Warrior, didn't want to have two KH characters. Shame too, since he's one of the few useful partners.
Rebecca (FE) - Archer, Archers are kinda nerfed in most non SRPGs... so she really didn't fit too well. Immensely useful though, and a dodging machine.

Who would your choices be?

Hmmm... Interesting. I guess I'd go with

Cecil Harvey (Final Fantasy IV) - Paladin
FFIV is one of my favourite Final Fantasies, and is a fairly strong character in both defense and offense, as well as being able to take damage for weaker allies and all that.

Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4) - Healer
Probably tied with Flonne as one of my favourite healers in an RPG, she does a damn good job at it second only to the MC (But nobody can compare to the MC). And she is adorable.

Stocke (Radiant Historia) - Spellblade/Jack of all Trades
Quite the badass character, in both appearance and attitude. He is skilled in both swordplay and fire magic as well as having the whole time travel boon.

Neku (The World Ends With You) - Jack of all Trades/Psychic
Joshua may be a badass, I won't argue that but Neku is definitely more Badass (although less powerful). Being able to use almost any psyche pin to great extent and do things normal players in the UG could only dream of doing puts him above Joshua in my opinion.

Flonne (Disgaea Series) - Healer/Mage
How did you not see this one coming? Shame on you.

Main Protagonist/"Revya" (Soul Nomad and the World Eaters) - Warrior
Another NIS title, being able to contain an evil god in ones body without being taken over (It's right at the start, so it's not really a spoiler. Play the game if you can!) is quite the feat, and using those powers from said god, even if only a fragment of it is quite to boon to ones party. Also I pick the female version over the male version of course :P.

Locke (Final Fantasy VI) - Thief Treasure Hunter
I'll admit I've not played much of FFVI, but I should have a thief to steal all the loots (Except Stocke who can steal, and Flonne/Revya can steal in their games as well with an item.) would help. And he is probably the funniest thief I've ever seen in an RPG.

Frog (Chrono Trigger) - Warrior
Dat Frog, what more do I need to say? Another great swordsman like Stocke, Revya and Cecil and can also heal (Again, like Stocke and Cecil). Also has that Elizabethan accent and vocabulary.

Dragon Lord in Training
Hmm... where to begin...?

Emil Castagnier (Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World) - Fighter/Beastmaster
I'm aware that this guy gets a good bit of flak among the Tales fans, and I can't say they don't have a point- he IS quite insecure for a protagonist, sure. However, personally, I actually LIKE this guy, possibly even more than Llyod (GYASP). Granted, I'm probably biased, given that (A) I can't help but consider his over-apologeticness and timid nature much like myself, and (B) DotNW was my FIRST Tales game [Albeit one I have not finished to this day... why have I stopped around the Earth Centurion dungeon place >_>], but I was able to sympathize with his character. Besides, he gave me quite a good impression as a fighter character... that, and he can form pacts with almost ANY monster and add it to his party.

Interchangable Monster (Look above) - ???
... yearp, I'm serious. Call me lazy, I probably am, but I always like to have the option to use random monsters as party members, so long as I like their design, and I happen to like a LOT of monster designs in Dawn of the New World. That, and this IS an extension of Emil's abilities... >_>

Onion Knight (FFIII/Dissidia) - Magic Knight
Okay, so I've played FFIII DS, and I just can't get very into it. I've TRIED to play it a lot, and at times I've been somewhat pulled into it, but I honestly cannot stay interested for any farther than the Fire crystal. And yet, I just happen to like Onion Knight a lot in his Dissidia incarnation. Personality, well I can understand some saying his personality isn't one of the best, but I've mained him for his abilities. He may be a fragile little guy, but he's got a perfect balance between physical and magical attacks- and his sword HP moves are freaking SWORD BEAM TIMES ONE MILLION. That and I like Fragile Speedsters. All he needs is a dragon transformation, and he'd be the closest thing to my persona in Dissidia form. Speaking of which...

Ryu (Breath of Fire... let's say IV?) - DRAGON
... no, I have never played Breath of Fire, nor do I have the means to (Aside from emulation, which I avoid, and I think the crappy 1st and 2nd games on the VC). If BoF 3 or 4 came out on the Virtural Console, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. And yes, I know very little about what kind of role Ryu plays in his party within the games. But the guy can transform into a freakin' DRAGON. A LOT of freakin' dragons, that can serve a wide variety of combat roles for X turns or so. I don't need a good reason to put him there, he's just automatically in. Oh yeah, and he has blue hair, so there's another prop for him. Did I mention I didn't know BoF existed when I made my persona?

Marle (Chrono Trigger) - Red Mage/Archer
What can I say? Admittedly, Marle may not be my FAVORITE Chrono Trigger character, but she's a good one, and I liked Chrono Trigger in general. Besides, this party needs more female characters and mages with support/healing magic. >_>

Vivian (Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door) - Black Mage
Okay, so her ONLY magic is fire-based (And hiding in the shadows to avoid attacks, I guess), but she counts. When I first played TTYD, Chapter 4 shocked me in SO many ways, and Vivian's rebellion from her abusive sisters was one of them. I wasn't sure if I could trust her to become a faithful party member, but to my surprise she did, and she grew on me after that. Aside from that, she's pretty good with what few fire abilities she has. Even if you don't want to instantly burninate everything, she can just FIRE PUNCH ENEMIES IN THE FACE. And it's a DECENT basic attack, unlike most magic-based characters (Of course, that's just how the Mario RPGs work, but hey~).

Madason (Dragon Quest V) - Magic Knight
Technically this character doesn't have a canon name, being the protagonist, but let's just assume that it is the name his father suggests for him in the opening cuscene. The protagonist of Dragon Quest V is quite possibly THE Woobie of the series, going through so much horrible crap that is most likely a load of spoilers to list. And yet, does he angst about it? NO. He does what his father would have wanted him to do, travelling the world with his beloved family for the ultimate goal of vanquishing the evil responsible behind ALL the crap done to him, for his own sake as well as the world's. Plus, he's rare as a protagonist, in that his canon unique endgame weapon is a STAFF, out of all weapon types, and he has decent wind and healing spells on top of good fighting abilities. Oh yeah, and that endgame staff that is unique to him? Use it in battle, BECOME A DRAGON AND BURNINATE/TEAR APART EVERYTHING. Why did I not remember this guy when trying to write this list yesterday?

Ogi (Phantasy Star 0) - Hunter
Okay, so as much as I enjoyed playing Phantasy Star Zero blind, there was one great flaw with the game- that was pretty much all it COULD offer. The first run was plenty of fun and enjoyable, which is important for a game, but the main story was so short and the post game and online multiplayer added very little that I couldn't already do in the main story. At least Phantasy Star Portable 2 provided a great experience pretty much all the time, excluding the fact that I struggled to advance in the story... I think I leveled up way too much, forcing the enemies to scale up to me while my equipment didn't quite match. So many hazards would just about OHKO me. >_>
... but I've gone off on a tangent there. REGARDING THIS CHARACTER, I always liked the CASTs since my first PS experience, Universe on the PS2. Sure, he WAS useless in the single player mode, but only because EVERYONE ELSE WAS AS WELL. But that's only a flaw with the game as a whole. Aside from this party needing a true marksman (Who technically should be capable of using traps as well, sans his game's AI not being programmed to use items I think), he's just Awesome. You first meet him as a disembodied head (Which he can totally be becuase he's, you know, a robot), who takes his plight completely casually as the rest of your party freaks out. And when you finally get him a proper new body, this happens.

Fairly sure I've given up.
I'd be pulling alot of characters from some mainstream games~

1. Crono (Chrono Trigger)
Like this isn't expected of me. Dude's swinging the sword, casting the lightning.. I fucking love my Chrono Trigger, and Chrono f'in rules, so he should be in this list. End of story. Don't agree with it? Eat Luminaire. :|

2. Ness (Earthbound)
It's Ness. 'Nuf said. No? Okay, fine. Dude's got a nasty baseball bat, an even nastier yo-yo, and never mind all of the PSI attacks he got. Need to get rid of strong enemies? PK Rockin' to the face.

3. Kain Highwind (Final Fantasy IV Dissidia Duodecim)
..Dude's got a spear. Dude can jump. All of the epic packed in a guy who ain't afraid to wear purple.

4. Ark (Terranigma)
The game's got enough elements to be called an RPG.. So obviously, Ark needs to be in here. Dude gets thrown into all sorts of crazy shit leaving him to remake the planet from scratch.. And that without a day of training under his belt. Poor Ark; perhaps it is karma for your mischievous pranks..

5. Luigi (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga)
The man in green himself~! He's got two things I like; green clothing and lightning attacks. Why wouldn't I like him? When he gets his chance to shine, he shows he's just as good even without that guy in red. What's his name uh.. Lario? Wario? Something with ario.. Eh, who cares, Luigi's epic enough on his own, never mind in a superstar team like this.

6. Django (Boktai 2)
Again, all of the RPG elements make this a possibility; Solar Boy Django~! His gun may be out of commission, but that only took a quick fix.. With all of the skills of his father and the power of the sun, he'll kick your ass like there's no tomorrow. Night? No Sun? HAH! Then out comes Black Django, who uses vampiric abilities to still kick all of your collective asses.

7. Soma Cruz (Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow)
Dude's the living embodiment of Dracula, pretty much. With all the souls he has collected from his enemies, he's got a wide arsenal of special attacks that'll leave you go 'what the hell just happened'. Admittedly, I preferred Aria of Sorrow, but Dawn of Sorrow's Soma simply got more abilities. Never mind the two ultimate weapons; the Death Scythe and the Claimh Solais.

8. Ayla (Chrono Trigger)
I initially started this list with the intention to have A. At least one girl and B. to not use a specific game twice. But then I figured 'oh damn it all, Ayla and Crono need to be in the same list.' They work SO GODDAMN WELL together, they don't even NEED Robo as third character; let alone the fact this dreamteam has SIX other Awesome characters. Who doesn't like a prehistoric girl that can THROW THINGS THAT ARE 15 TIMES BIGGER THAN SHE IS. She puts Sabin and suplexing that Ghost Train to friggin' SHAME. She would be able to throw him AND the train and FIVE OTHER TRAINS in the same throw and still go 'didn't break a sweat, yo.'

Random~
1) Presea Combatir (Tales of Symphonia) Lumberjack - My favourite character from Tales of Symphonia. Pure powerhouse, a variety of moves... I use her as soon as I get her in my party.

2) Soma (Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow) Vampire/ Soul Master - Only played Aria of Sorrow... He's a badass and has control over the soul's of... Pretty much his own minions since he is Dracula. He defeated the evil of his own castle as well.

3) Aht (Radiant Historia) Shaman/ Trap Master - Sure, Stocke has healing and attack magic as well as a variety of sword moves... But I prefer Aht over him. I never played Radiant Historia but I did see a LP of it. Aht's traps are useful and her Dancing Death move is useful when you want to rack up a large combo. Plus she can steal like Stocke and some of moves involves her using a giant mace.

4) Puniyo (Mana Khemia 2) Mage - Ahh... Another favourite. She has both healing and attack magic. Uses pretty much all elements. She has the assistance of her Puni brothers and one of her special attacks involves crushing enemies with a giant Puni.

5) Magus (Chrono Trigger) Badass/ Mage - Yet another favourite. Sure, he starts as a villian but he's only trying to kill Lavos, so he's not a true villian. A powerhouse when it comes to magic. Pretty badass with a scythe as well.

6) Female White Mage (Final Fantasy) Healer - Why just a sterotypical white mage and not ones like Rosa? Because my preferrences are like that. Why female? I like having female healers.

7) Riesz (Seiken Densetsu 3) Amazion Princess - Has access to some useful job classes. The two I saw gave her stat boosting magic and summons. I forgotten the names of the classes and I don't want to look them up. But I prefer to have Riesz in the second of the two I've seen, which gives her the summons.

Speaking of summons...

8) Rydia (Final Fantasy 4) Summoner - And another favourite appears on this list. Knows black magic and summons, including but not limited to: Bahamut, Meteor, Flare, Ashura. She knew white magic as a child but, during a trial that sent her back to that form, it is revealed that young Rydia doesn't know much white magic. Plus she lost that ability when she became an adult and increased her black magic capibilities.

Bringing THIS baby back
Let's see... my choices would be:

Geno (Square Enix, was in two Mario games.): No idea what class Geno would be.
Come on, Square! Let us use Geno again! Awesome star possessing a doll of the same name, shoots fricken STARS out of his ELBOW! With the Almighty Geno Whirl, who wouldn't use him?

Merric (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon): Black Mage.
Excalibur, Excalibur! Plus, he has all sorts of other tomes at his disposal. Too bad his game isn't Radiant Dawn, I would love to see all the tomes he could use!

Randi (Secret of Mana): Swordsman.
Secret of Mana has always been one of my favorite SNES games, and the Mana Sword only does good for his choice. Assistance from Purim and Popoi with the Elemental weapon spells.

Ellie & Chompy (Adult)(Monster Tale): Beast-Tamer & Monster duo.
Ellie doesn't really fight. She give commands and treats to Chompy. Chompy has a multitude of skills it can learn from the five elements of Monster Tale, Nature, Water, Fire, Shadow, and Light. Plus, gotta love that Gilgamesh form.

Mokka (Magical Starsign): Tank.
Mokka has a Crap-ton of HP and pretty high Def, but suffers when it comes to MP and Speed. Perfect for those moments when you need to clear house with Bellowing Rock or buff your team with Vibrant Dance.

Lucca (Chrono Trigger): Scientist (like Jeff).
I would have picked Robo, but I've already got one robot. Lucca has excellent Fire magic, but not the best Strength. Flare to all who scoff at her might.

Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4): Red Mage (Those use both White and Black magic, right?)
Sorry to have one of somebody else's re-used, but...
Yukiko has great potential for healing, can whip out the Fire skills when she needs to, and I always thought she was pretty fights with them fans like Yumi from Code Lyoko.

Simba (Kingdom Hearts II): Awesome Fighter Lion.
Simba is King of the Pride Lands, and uses his immense power to his advantage. Plus, he's a kick-ass Lion. Nuff said.

Runner-Ups:
Matthew (Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken)
Ditto (Pokémon)
Adell (Disgaea 2)
Female Healer (Disgaea: Hour of Darkness)

Psst, Spiritomb:

Red Mages are those who can use both White and Black; Blue Mages use a form of magical mimicry to use the spells of opponents.
