Confirmed for doki-doki tier.

I'm not sure where you heard drawing from the head downward wasn't preferred. As far as I know, that's the most common, and most comfortable approach. -From my experience, drawing from the feet (Or just lower body in general) upward is really difficult and hard to coordinate. You should do what you feel comfortable with. It's your method, you should do what you're comfortable with to get the best out of your work. Anyway: Onto the picture. The main thing that stands out to me are the wrinkles. Specifically the pants. -You can definitely cut down on those. -I usually add mine in after the piece is mostly-done, along with the outline. In this case, the wrinkles on the jeans seem to make the left leg bend inward near the shin. The face, oh man the face. That face makes Gaia look so mature! I'm really impressed with it. -The expression he has makes it seem like he's confident in what he's doing, and it's not much of a big deal. I feel like ALL of my previous Gaia drawings--(And by all I mean the, like: 3 I've done) aren't representing him well at all~ Overall, I think you did a good job, Gaia. I'm jealous of your shoes! Stupid stuff from me. 20minutes of boredom. MeowMeow retuns? (Not likely)

Thanks, Milk~ Yeah... I see what you mean about the pants... I was forcing it a little too hard, trying too add as many as I could... That was the result. Gaia's undershirt definitely could have done with some... The shoes, in the end, don't really look half as good as they originally did, but their perspective made Gaia look like he was standing on the side of his feet, which looked rather painful :/ Also, I feel like you did a good job on those drawings of Gaia! He was a bit different as a character before Cloud came along, but his overall personality hasn't changed. He's a bit more serious due to story reasons, but I still feel that what you've done with the character is fine~ On a final note: I love that tie! It's just so badass, defying gravity like that. |

I'm almost done on a picture, and I'm having trouble with wrinkles as well, and I'm sure there's a couple mistakes I'm not aware of... So yeah to anyone who's reading, I'll always take constructive criticism... *finishes it up |

Is this considered art? Cartoons are my specialty, y'know. Edit: Nevermind, my computer doesn't want to work with me right now. Spoiler: click to toggle

Well... This is our art thread, so yeah. Pretty much anything you draw would be considered art, and would warrant a post here. |

Fairly sure I've given up.

Or compose, animate, write, etc.. you get the drift, anything you create really. Wait, not write. Stuff you write goes into the Writing section. And no photographs either. Those go into their specific threads. |

I'm quite pleased! But I have no clue how to do wrinkles, and I still think his legs are a little short... I can't tell. :V Edited by CarrotShticks, Aug 18 2012, 11:39 PM.
