I'm pretty upset either used right now. -Then again, I'm pretty much always upset with myself... Anyway--I'm upset because: Even though I personally cannot stand FPS, Borderlands 2 is too much fun. -You mayb be asking why I'm upset. Because I didn't try this series out earlier. -I heard it was fun--but to make me completely disregard my intense dislike of FPS? Shit is too good, yo. Edited by Milk, Oct 30 2012, 11:50 AM.

The Impossible Scientist!
|
Ok, I currently don't have a job. I get £112 evey other week to help me pay for food, and look for work. After I put money towards the food, the gas and electric, and take out my travel expenses, I have about £45 left for two weeks. This is fine, and I normally have a bit left over. What pisses me off is when people, who know that I only get a small amount, tell others that I'll lend them money without asking me first, then complain when I get annoyed about it! It's my fucking money! Don't tell me who I'm going to give it to! |

Renzo is too sexy for himself

*sigh* Well, I actually have something legitimate to rant about instead of the silly things I was ragging on the last few times. As you all may know, Hurricane Sandy hit the Tri-state area around Monday. There was a great deal of damage done to most of the area, and many people either evacuated themselves to shelters or were rescued and sent to shelters. My mother is a Department of Health nurse, so naturally she was asked to come in to help with the relief efforts, taking care of anyone who was sick or injured during the hurricane. She refused. They had initially called her on Sunday to tell her to report to a shelter, and all she did was hang up the phone immediately. She even called in to her boss, on my phone, to tell her that she didn't have phone service on her phone, and that she wasn't getting any calls. All of a sudden, today on Tuesday, she HAS to head in to a shelter. Our cell phones are down: the hurricane is probably interfering with those because our neighbors are having the same problem, and we have no home phone. Mother can't get the info she needs online, so now she's stuck in deep water. She could lose her job because of this, and all because she didn't answer a few calls because she didn't want to head out into the hurricane. I know that heading out there wouldn't have been the safest thing to do: that's why we stayed inside. But she's a DoH nurse: it's her duty to respond to these kinds of situations, despite the safety risks. She's been doing this all her life, and she chooses now to chicken out. It's shameful, to say the least. The kicker is that if she loses her job, I pay the price for this more than she does. It means I would have to find a full time job to pay for bills, and put my education on hold, thanks to my money-grubbing bitch of a father. If I had been working on a game-design or liberal arts degree, I might have been able to go indie or freelance for some extra cash, but I was working on a forensic science degree. That means I actually need my degree to get into my career. Yes, those other degrees that I mentioned probably pay much better if they actually had their degrees for their jobs, but at least they could do something in a situation like this. Welp, I probably sound like a bitch myself, so I'm going to stop typing now. I can only hope that she doesn't lose her job because of her mistakes. |

Because it's NOT a downgrade?! Borderlands 2 isn't just "A better Borderlands 1". Borderlands 2 may improve over Borderlands 1, but it is IN ADDITION TO Borderlands 1, not 'better'. BL2 is a DIRECT SEQUEL, the story of BL1 tying into BL2 perfectly. I personally would like to say that your Borderlands experience is not over until you've played BOTH games. Think of it like eating a piece of cooked chicken. You salt it a bit, and bam, instant chicken meal. Good chicken. Next time, you cook the chicken, but decide to throw seasoning and spices on it. Bam, instant chicken meal, way better than the first, but that first time was pretty delicious too, and you're glad you tasted it before you did the seasoned one, since now you can compare the two properly.. And y'know what, the normally salted one was pretty damn good too, so you might switch it up between salted and specially seasoned. IT IS LIKE THAT. You got the best, and turned out there was something better. BUT THAT FIRST WAS STILL THE BEST BEFORE THE BETTER ONE CAME. |

I watched an LP of BL1. It was decent. I see no reason to buy it though. BL2 is better in every regard. And now people will play BL2, and not BL1 as much. Might as well watch someone else play BL1 and save yourself the 50 hours. |
