I suppose now's as good a time as ever to mention that I myself have some issues with paranoia. A lot of recent, more major, events really aren't helping either. |

Yeah, that's not extreme paranoia. It's pretty common for someone to not want their barely teenaged daughter talking a long time with strangers online. Heck, Facebook has a 13 year old age limit for a reason. Gaia is exactly right. If I had a daughter that age, she'd be daddy's little princess still... I wouldn't even want to have to deal with relationships for another two years. >.< So Daddy is all freaking out that his little girl is maybe dating someone he's never met, and she probably has never even seen. Then a ton of worst case scenarios run through his mind, all of which seem perfectly plausible since he doesn't know what she's gotten into. I know it's annoying for you, and you are feeling frustrated and angry. But in all honesty, by hiding this from her parents, you made his reaction even worse than it would have been. I believe at the beginning, I suggested that she tell her parents, and received the predictable "they won't understand and will shut it down" response. So I didn't push the issue. As much as you don't want to hear what your parents have to say, you need to realize they want to keep you safe. Paranoia is a side effect of loving someone. |

Onto a DIFFERENT topic. I stepped in some sort of mysterious candy goo the other day whilst on the bus. My god, students, is it THAT HARD to pick up wrappers, dropped candy, or gum? If it's on the ground and it's gonna be a nuance, just pick it the hell up! What's so difficult about that? I saw a bottle cap be slid across the ground, two girls walked by, the supervisor asked them to pick it up, and neither of them even bothered! My friend got up and picked up by herself. Jesus, really. Some people, I swear... |

Mm. America is a dirty place. We should be more respectful of those around us and the places we visit. Someone has to pick up the trash or scrape off the dried gum. It's why I like Janitors. They have no praise, yet they work hard to keep us safe. |

Well, I learned that the only reason why people like me in Chemistry class, except for my 2 closest friends, are just so then they can get answers from me. Wow, really? I already know you hate me and think I'm a loser or whatever, but come on. Now I will admit, Chemistry is one of my favourite subjects and I would like to have a job as a chemist possibly, but really, we're studying really easy stuff like Boyle's Law. I wouldn't mind so much if they were to come up and ask "what does this question mean" or "what do I do for this step in the experiment", but hearing "oh my god -insert name here- is writing down something, quick, look over at their paper and copy every single detail so then I don't have to do jack" really pisses me off. I mean, you guys couldn't even help me GATHER the data or help me when none of the cords were working properly and just stood there like morons and thought talking about some fashion/crush thing was more important, why the hell should I give MY answers that I worked on to you? No, screw off and do your own damn project by yourselves if you can't help me. God damn high schoolers man. Some are really cool and nice, but others just piss me off to no end. |
