FUCKING IDIOTS! Quit setting off god damn fireworks, the forth of July was DAYS ago. I am enraged enough as it is right now. I don't need dumbasses that can't tell what day it is to irritate me any further, ESPECIALLY when I'm trying to fucking sleep!

Im getting REAL pissed off with my brother.
So, one of my favorite dishes (and primary source of nutrition, horrible as it may be) would be French Fries. A good few years back my family bought a little Min-fryer, but i only noticed it last year (it was still in its box, atop the fridge). Long story short, i use that thing more than i use the toilet these days.
So, about a month ago, my brother gets fed up with how the fryer looks, citing that i never clean it. This is absolute bullshit, and he knows it. What was his solution? Go behind my back and buy a NEW goddamn fryer that is 50% harder to both clean AND operate.
So, to get him off my back and to ensure he wont throw away any more of my stuff, i try my damnedest to keep that thing SPOTLESS.
Apparently, im not at all good at cleaning shit. So, he gets someone else to clean it for me- Which i wasn't terribly upset by, the guy was cool and only helped because he was concerned with my health (With good reason, mind) and was a mutual friend to boot.
This was yesterday. When i go to fix a batch about 20 minutes ago, guess what i find?
My idiot brother dumping out the grease that was in the fryer as a sign that i should clean it. Less than 24 hours after himself having it cleaned.

I don't even know why he gives a damn. He never fucking uses it. No, really, i have NEVER seen him use it. I may as well just move the damn thing into my room. Hell, i might just do exactly that. He just wants shit to look nice- He's said as much himself. Whats more, grease can get pretty fucking expensive. But that part isn't my concern- He's the one paying for it, after all. He wants to waste all of it, its his loss.

Your want to listen to music in a public place? Fine. You don't feel like using headphones? Not fine. Common fucking courtesy, get some.

Alright, I think it's about time I lay out my thoughts on the animation studio known as DreamWorks. Now I just got back from seeing Turbo and I'll be quite honest; they actually managed to make it into a good movie, for the most part. It ranks right up there with How to Train Your Dragon as one of my favorite DreamWorks movies, and I can appreciate that. But what I don't appreciate is DreamWorks constantly ruining all their good movies by making unnecessary squeals (i.e. Shrek), a redundant amount of animated shorts, TV shows, or in the case of How to Train Your Dragon, all three.

I mean, god, seriously? A How to Train Your Dragon squeal? Way to ruin yet another good movie by making a pointless squeal. To be fair, they haven't reveal enough yet for me to say much about it, but what I do know is that Hiccup is an adult now. And might I add, WHAT THE HELL?! Come on DreamWorks, why do you always gotta pull this crap? I liked DreamWorks once. ONCE.

... Fuck. They're not just making a squeal, they're making a trilogy.

I actually like Shrek 2, it had a lot of humour, and also developed the characters more, and introduced some hilarious new characters (though I will be honest, Shrek 3 was god awful). As far as "pointless sequels" go, it honestly depends on their motive. If they are doing it to continue a franchise that people are still enjoying/asking about, and they have a decent way of linking the two stories together, then it's not really a pointless sequel (though it may still end up being a bad sequel).

And that seems to be the case when it comes to Dreamworks. They release a film, it becomes well known, and everyone loves it. They see the film at the cinema, buy it when it's released for home viewing, and go on about it for ages. The, of course, everything dies down for a while. But it only takes the smallest rumour, and the fans will start speculating, and saying how much they'd love a sequel. (I honestly think the companies spread those rumours, just to see how people react)

Let's be honest. If you could make a fuck load of money, AND please all your fans at the same time, would you turn down the opportunity?

tbh, Candy, this is a common business practice. My gramps calls it "milking the cash cow." At least DreamWorks puts effort behind each sequel and tries to both make it unique and tie it to the movies before it. Shrek and its three accompanying movies actually had things about each that were enjoyable, and without four's massive success, we wouldn't have gotten Puss in Boots.

If you want a more monotonous example, let's use my main time-slayer: Pokemon. It's been pretty much the same formula for almost twenty years and people still play, those new to the series and those who have been around since '94/'95. While I may not be looking forward to XY, there are millions of others who are. That's where the money comes from when a cash cow gets milked. A vast majority of the time, the desires of the many painfully dwarf those of the few.

If it works, if it makes people happy, and if it keeps money rolling in so businesses can consider being innovative and making something new, why change it?

Outside of Shrek 3, I don't get your beef with Dreamworks... Heck Shrek 2 is still one of my favourite movies and I enjoy it more than 1 :/.

You seem to be mixing up Dreamworks with Disney. I mean, name me one DIsney sequel that was actually good? (Rescuer Down under doesn't count)

Don't play with fire, kids.
Every media uses sequels. Not just one studio.

In my opinion, the sequel does not ruin the original. Pocahontas is still a good Disney movie despite Pocahontas 2, which is possibly the worst animated film in existence.

@BH, Lion King 2 was pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. Rescuers Down Under is better than the Rescuers, in my opinion. I think one of the Aladdin sequels was okay? I'm not sure on that last one. But Disney has an especially terrible habit of sequels. Also squeals. There are a lot of pigs in Disney movies, but I'm relatively sure Candy meant sequel.

I haven't seen Shrek 2 in forever, so I can't really comment on that one. Anyways.

I'm only stating my opinion, or rather, I'm only ranting my opinion, if you don't agree with it, that's fine. To me, when they constantly make sequels like that, it feels like they're only doing it for the money. And I never said all sequels are bad, which is what some of you guys seem to think I said. I only ever said DreamWorks sequels are bad, because they make so many of them. They could never match up to even a fraction of what the originals were.

In my opinion, most movies are better off as stand alone. Especially when there is nothing good left to add to it, as is the case with a lot of DreamWorks movies. And it's not just sequels, either. They made a Monsters Vs. Aliens TV show, a How to Train Your Dragon TV show, AND a Kung Fu Panda TV show; you simply cannot tell me that that is not ridiculous. Also, weren't any of you aware of the massive amount animate shorts DreamWorks makes after they release a new movie? Seriously, there was like 4 How to Train Your Dragon shorts, 3 or so Shrek shorts, a MegaMind short, 2 Monsters Vs. Aliens shorts, etc. There's gotta at least be one for every movie They've made (or at least every one I know of).

With that said, I actually did a little more research on the upcoming How to Train Dragon trilogy. To be honest, I'm a little curious on how's it's gonna pan out. Still pissed off, but also curious.
