The Embodiment of Earth
|
You'd be surprised... in many cultures it's actually considered rude to blow your nose outside of your own home. Many suffer through the sound of sniffling for hours in countries like Japan and India because they feel that blowing the nose releases the germs from your body. They also feel your body is able to handle the germs effectively, so keeping the germs inside at all costs is viewed as optimal. |

I understand that, and when I go to other nations I'll keep that in mind and keep my mouth shut. However where this happened was in the US... and I'm pretty sure that Hispanics blow their noses in public... At least I'm fairly sure I remember seeing many Hispanics blow their noses in public. *has many Hispanic friends and have seen many with handkerchiefs*

Wow... mother... A while ago you said you wanted to try out this restaurant that I like... You asked where I wanted to go for supper tomorrow... You know, my BIRTHDAY... And when I suggest something that I've wanted you to try and you wanted to try, you're backing out on that?! Really?! I call bull! You just don't want to try anything that you could potentially like... You ALWAYS do this with me recently and it really ticks me off that you do this... I mean seriously! I say I want to do something that you agreed that you would want to do too and you back out because of some lame reason or another. What an effing surprise... What an effing rude surprise... /sarcasm |

(For the record, I don't intentionally mean to insult anyone, merely expressing my feelings) You know what I don't get? Why some of the members on VE are just so blunt and harsh, intentionally. I don't think people realize that that's actually quite harmful to more sensitive people like me. It's seems to me that the common misconception is that sugar-coating the truth is a bad thing, but that's only half true. You see, the truth hurts, and that's all. It doesn't help, it doesn't motivate, and it doesn't change people for the better. What most people really need is love and support, and you're not gonna get that from bluntly stating the truth, or rather I should say, what you think is the truth. Now I realize too much sugar-coating isn't gonna help either. There's a fine line between sugar-coating and saying it as is where it's just enough of both to help others out. I understand that's hard to find and takes time, as it's different for each person. But some, if not most, don't even realize that line exists. Which just seems rather thick to me, but I digress. And since I'm talking about this kind of stuff, some of you have called me an attention whore in the past, and scolded me for my mistakes. But plenty of people make mistakes on here and I hardly ever see anyone get treated as badly as me. (hardly ever does not mean never) I know the world doesn't evolve around me, I was never seeking attention. You guys lead me to believe that I was, but now I know better. I've been reading a book on personality lately, The Color Code. It categorizes personality into four colors, based on their core motives, needs, and wants. I'm Blue and White, core motives being intimacy and peace respectively. Blues, my primary color, need attention in a way, specifically acceptance and approval. They want to reveal their weaknesses and limitations to better emotionally connect and be accepted. I didn't realize it before, but I made my 'attention seeking' posts for those exact same reasons, and what did you guys do? The exact opposite of what I needed you to do. You rejected me. You put me down and scolded me. And while some of you may be too stubborn to realize, that steered me away from my true identity and prevented me from discovering who I really am. While I don't blame anyone for it, what you thought might have been helping me was only adding to my troubles. Without the comfort of knowing who I am, I was lost in an on and off depression that had no end. I was without a purpose to guide me, and had no clue which actions represented me and which ones didn't. Thanks to The Color Code that's all changed, looking back now, I know who I really am; but it's just a little bit too late for that. Because I wasn't aware of my true self, I was unable to properly interact and express myself to others. And I lost the most precious thing I will have the pleasure of obtaining. Aero, if you're reading this, I'm dreadfully sorry for what I've done to hurt you during what might as well have been my darkest hour. I hope you understand that... And I hope you understand that those actions don't reflect me. Perhaps they did at one point, but not anymore... As for the rest of you, I advise you not to say anything mean or provoking as a response, if anything at all. This is a rant topic, not an argument topic, but I refuse to take such treatment any longer and I will stand up for myself just as I've done before. I deserve better, everyone does. |

*sigh* Okay small Halloween based rant here. I don't care if you think you're trying to be funny, but forcing trick or treaters to tell you a joke to get candy is rude. And even when the person says they can't think of anything you continue to say "no joke no candy"? You don't do that. That's not a good Halloween edicate... Just saying... |

Ok, Bro? Brother, brah, brochacho, Onii-san? It is one thing to save money by buying less than perfect goods. That is one thing. But for FUCKS SAKE, If the paper plates cannot support their own weight, and are torn in half by a gentle breeze, it is then that we have crossed the line between saving money with less than good supplies and WASTING MONEY BUYING USELESS BULLSHIT. The same applies to paper towels that require you to use 4 layers to be able to soak up a teaspoon of water. (Also, who the flying hell buys toilet paper that is RIGID? Are you Daft, or are you just stupid? I would rather not have it feel like im cleaning my ass with a cats tongue, thank you.) Edited by Ryoukai, Nov 25 2013, 08:04 PM.
