Alternatively the Syl- could stem from the Word Sylvan, which sometimes means 'Pleasantly rural', which adds further backing for Normal typing. Really, we have little choice but to wait and see. |

I'm... Actually thinking that Sylveon might be a Bug type. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but... Its German name is Feelinara. That could be reaching for a pun about insects with feelers. Its French name is Nymphali. Nymphali are not only a type of butterfly, but a nymph phase is part of some insects' life cycles. Ninfia could also be a stretch of Nymph with an -ia suffix as with Leafeon and Glaceon (Leafia and Glacia respectively.) Sylveon... Well, to be honest, I don't have much for that name. As mentioned before though, the "Syl-" suffix generally has to do with the forest. Insects do still live in the forest. It also deserves mention of its bows. They certainly look like butterflies if you look closely enough... And its eyes kind of look like an insect's compound eyes. Now note: I'm hoping I'm incorrect. I REALLY want this to be a Flying type, or maybe even a Poison type. A lot of information kind of points to Bug typing at this point though. I don't care how wrong you think I am, though, I do NOT want to be combated. You can state your reasoning otherwise. If you get haughty with me, I'll ignore you. I've presented possible outcomes for certain other things before in a pleasant manner and was met with volatile responses. This is not a place for arguing the matter. Go to some other board if you're going to get snippy. Edited by Gaia, Feb 17 2013, 01:23 PM.

Fairly sure I've given up.

I say there's no need for that. Keep your bets in posts. I'm thinking Sylveon is either the rumored new 'Light' type.. Or it's Eevee's normal type evolution. The colors just don't fit any of the other types, if you ask me. Psychic would also be a good idea, but Espeon already covers that... |

I honestly don't know why they would think people wanted a Normal Eevee evolution though. People evolve Eevee so it WON'T be Normal anymore, right? It could possibly be a flying type. It has a similar color-scheme to Togekiss and all... The only thing it's lacking are appendages to fly. In addition, it'd be at a loss for Flying type attacks to use, considering the lack... I've also realized my hypothesis of a Bug type was probably idiotic. I dunno. |

Well I'm okay with Sylveon being a normal type, as it's obviously going to be stronger than Eevee so it'll be more usable as a Normal type... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let there be an AMAZING Dunsparce evolution... |

I'm surprised there isn't already a dunsparce evolution, though it isn't the most popular pokémon ever. I'm kind of hoping for a farfetch'd evolution. I really like farfetch'd, but it's so bad, and evolution would hopefully give it some use. |
