The Embodiment of Smugness

![]() Huge Logo is huge What is SD Gundam Capsule Fighter? SD Gundam Capsule Fighter, or "SDGO" for short, is a third person shooter created by the South Korean PC Game Company Softmax, launched in the summer of 2007. The premise of the game is giant robots beating up other giant robots in quick reaction PvP action. The covers all the timelines in the Gundam franchise. It eventually reached out to outside borders, starting with Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau in January 4th 2008, run by Shanghai-based game company "9You", followed by publisher CJ Internet on March 20th 2009 in Japan, then finally to North America in October 19th 2011 by Game Publisher OG Planet. PvP rooms can hold up to 12 players, limiting up to 6-on-6 battles. There are also co-op 4 player missions that you can do if you're not in the mood for PvP Each individual Mobile suit can go up to level 12. With each level, you unlock custom parts you can give to your units. There is also "Mastery", which acts like your secondary EXP gauge, only spend it to filled up "EXP Packs" to help speed up the level up process. All mobile suits have a rank, going from lowest to highest: C, CR, CS, CU B, BR, BS, BU, A, AR, AS, AR, S, and SS. Ranks with "R" and "S" are alternate versions of certain mobile suits. An example of this would be Impulse Gundam, with Sword Impulse, an AS, and Blast Impulse, an AR. "U" units are mobile suits with an alternate color, and slightly different stats. All mobile suits have their own set of "Skill Parts", third skill part always being "special", the first two always being a different pair. An empty fourth slot exists for you to attached any skill parts you have acquired in-game to help further your mobile suit's performance. Is this Free to Play, or Pay to Play? This is a Free to Play game, so that means most of the really good game content have to be purchased with, in OG Planet's case, Astros, which can only be bought with real world currency. Sadly, this is also your only other means of getting an S Rank Mobile Suit without having to spend long hours of grinding just to so you can play with it. Then again, S Rank units are practically the game breakers of SDGO. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, GOD/BURNING GUNDAM. What timelines does SDGO cover? As I said. All of it. Universal Century (Gundam 0079, Stardust Memories, War in the Pocket, 08th MS Team, MS IGLOO, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Gundam F91, Gundam Crossbones, Victory Gundam, and Gundam Unicorn), Future Century (G Gundam), After Colony (Gundam Wing, Endless Waltz), After War (Gundam X), Correct Century (Turn A), Cosmic Era (SEED, SEED Astray, SEED Destiny, SEED Stargazer), Anno Domini (Gundam 00), and Advanced Generation (Gundam AGE). SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors, which is not part of any of the mentioned timelines, has also been included in SDGO, and according to the SDGO wiki we'll be getting Gunpla Builders as well pretty soon, starting with the Beginning Gundam. Unfortunately, like S Rank units, you can only get the Sangokoden units by Astros, which you can only get through real world currency. GAAAAAAAAAAAME!! Are there any other features in this games? Yes there is, and it's in the form of "My Room", which acts like your character select menu. You'll start off with four pages worth of Mobile Suits to have handy (Six units per page), but you can expand that by getting a "Hanger Expansion" from the Shopping Room. In your room is "Launch", which just takes you to the PvP/Mission screen, "Battleship", where you can assign your units to a battleship that you can use on Expert PvP channels, "Blueprint" which lets you create mobile suits at the cost of 3-5 weaker mobile suits (though the "Key" unit is always kept), "Factory" lets you customize all of your mobile suits to your liking, from adjusting it's stats to giving it your own personal paint job, and slapping stickers on it (Warning, some stick locations can be very skeptical), and the newly added "Research" which allows you to get a free Mobile Suit... At the cost of having to wait for a certain period. This can go from a minimum of 20 today, to a month, TO A WHOLE MONTH AND A HALF. DID I MENTION THAT THIS TIME PERIOD IS IN REAL-TIME? You can decrease the duration, but like a lot of other crazy useful content, it costs real world money. Jeez SDGO, greedy much? Oh, don't worry guys. There is an in-game currency that you can spend for items that don't require you to buy Astros for. And lastly, there is the "Capsule Room", which is a gashpon based "character unlock"-ish menu that gives you a mobile suit (depending on which capsule you have selected) at random. Most capsules are just 3 C ranks with a B Rank, and even rarer to acquire A Rank, with a sixth "hidden" unit that's only displayed as a silhouette. If you're well knowledged with the Gundam franchise, you'll quickly recognize what the mystery mobile suits just by looking at it. There are a few capsules that are all B Ranks and all A Ranks, but they're much more expensive than the regular "Capsules", so if you want to use these, get ready to throw a ton of in-game money at the screen. There's also the "Custom Capsule Machine", which is like all the other Capsule Machines, except you can choose what six units you want from it. The more high ranking units you put into the selection, the higher the cost will slowly become. There are also be two "expansion" slots which you can us to put two more units you so desire into it. I strongly suggest using these for any units between Rank B and AS, since these WILL NOT affect amount required to use the CCM. Unfortunately, these slots can only be used of you have a "Slot Expansion" item. GUESS WHERE YOU HAVE TO GET THAT. YEAH. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!! Are there guilds in this game? Yes there is, along with a Clan channel for PvP between clans. So if anyone wants to put "Awesome vs Corruption" on Giant Robot steroids, you're welcome to do so. However, to form a guild, you have to have 20,000 points handy, and you can only make a guild via the SDGO website. Is there a guild for this forum? Why yes, there is. It is called "FlagsVSZulus", possibly the first ever guild designed around the idea of Union Flag player and Geara Zulu players beating the ever loving crap out of eachother! It's kinda like "Pirates VS Ninjas", really. Hmm... You have piqued my interest. Where can I acquire the program needed to install SDGO? BOOM SHAKA LAKA!! Did you really need to do that? Yes.
