Conoree didn't know where the worgs came from; there was nowhere to hide along the path through this desolate land. All she knew was it appeared seemingly out of nowhere, already in the air in a leap for the hapless Carrine before anybody saw it. But it didn't reach her. The ever-vigilant Kaeley spun around from the front and threw her shield like a discuss. Luck or skill found the shield dead-on as the worg took the hit in the head. It's neck snapped and it dropped dead at Carrine's feet.

To the side were three others, snarling in preparation for attack. Conoree conjured forth a forearm-sized spear of ice and released it, allowing her spiritual essence to guide the magic projectile's trajectory. It speared the warg in the neck just as it began a leap, shattered a moment later, and dropped the beast to the ground in a bloody heap. The last two turned their attention from the diminutive Carrine as she seemingly faded into obscurity, choosing instead to pounce on Kaeley. One latched onto her sword arm while the other barreled into her torso and tackled her to the ground, amid curses and grunts of agony.

"Get off her, you thrice-cursed felthirs!" Conoree spat as she conjured another spear and let it loose. The spear deflected off of the worg's hide, but succeeded in drawing its attention to new prey. It dropped Kaeley's arm and ran for Conoree, who frantically worked to conjure another spear despite her mental fatigue. Even as it began forming in midair between her hands, she knew the worg was coming too fast. She saw the air shimmer before her. It leapt towards her with a snarl.

Barely a foot in front of Conoree the worg stopped and fell to the ground as it collided into something that simply wasn't there. Thank you, Carrine! she thought with a glance to the mute sister, presently down on one knee, hands extended, focused on maintaining the spell. Conoree gripped the ice spear in her hand and resolutely jammed it through the stunned creature's mouth into its cranial cavity. As it gurgled and twitched, Conoree looked toward Kaeley, fully expecting to see her standing victorius over her opponent. Instead Conoree was shocked to see Kaeley unconscious beneath it, sword fallen out of her limp hand, as the creature ravaged and tore at her shoulder.

"No!" One panicked step toward her sister was all she managed before dropping to her knees, exhausted. Carrine was at her side in a heart-beat to help her to her feet. Her sister's gentle touch channeled the energy of some divine being, and gave Conoree a brief second wind, who pulled the spear out of the still twitching beast and feebly hurled it end-over-end as they ran to Kaeley's aid.

Carrine, full of trust in her sister, lay her hand on the eldest, heedless of danger to her own life. Her eyes closed as she reached deep within and focused on the NEED to save her sister.

Conoree snatched up Kaeley's sword, took a swipe to her stomach from the worg's claw. The blade was heavy, far heavier than anything Conoree could use effectively. She marveled at Kaeley's ability to wield it single-handed as she fought to bring it to bare with both hands. Time seemed to slow, and endless moment stretched into near eternity as she locked gazes with the Worg. She felt empty, staring into those soulless, black orbs. She drew the weapon up over her head with both hands, noted with a distant part of her consciousness that the worg was favoring a wounded leg, and swung the weapon down...

Conoree, or "Connie" to her friends and family, is the youngest of four children born to Vanlen and Alemenia Firewolf, the Baron and Baroness of the mid-sized western shore town of Laikershaily. Her older siblings are her sisters Kaeley and Carrine, and her twin brother, Daniel. Kaeley, woh excelled at the use of weapons, became the Captain of the Guard. Carrine, mute from birth, joined the church and learned to channel the divine healing magic. She picked up Barrier magic and alchemy as well, though she won't tell where or how. Daniel fulfilled his obligation as the first-born son of a noble by serving Queen Orintha in the military. At the age of 12 he ws squired under Lord Bartholomew Fordragon.

Despite her pyrophobia born from an accident as a little girl, Conoree grew fascinated by elemental magic. She spent a number of years at the Guild's Sanctum in Laikershaily, perfecting her craft. She was not Sagemaster Darian's brightest pupil, though she nursed a crush on the one that could claim that distinction: a fellow by the name of Goldham. He could weave earth and electricity into a web around a target. (Just try getting those elements to play nice!) There was no doubt that while not the brightest pupil, she was his most enthusiastic. There were times when she became so engrossed in her studies that she wouldn't leave the library for days on end. When she finally would emerge here eyes would be baggy and sleep-deprived, but wild with excitement and ready to test her next theory.

Conoree showed a special aptitude for water, ice, and wind-based magics. Most of the techniques she's theorized reflect her preference for non-lethal resolutions, as they are geared towards impeding or disabling, rather than killing, an opponent. Despite this preference, she fully understands that others have no such compuctions, and the first spell she perfected is as deadly as any blade if aimed well. The finesse required for non-lethal techniques came with numerous nights of practice.

Eventually, word came of her twin brother's completion of training and her parents left for Duhan to make preparations for his Knighting ceremony. Kaeley, Carrine, and Connie were to follow a week later to attend it. They were three days away from Duhan when the horizon flared white, nearly blinding them. The Flash had just struck, though they themselves did not understand what happened. Three days later, a short way out from Duhan, they were commenting on the desolation when they came under atttack by previously unknown creatures.

Kaeley was disabled by the creatures' slow-acting venom, but Conoree and Carinne were able to get her to Duhan's sole-surviving inn, Luna's Light. To make matters worse, they learned their mother and father perished in the Flash, while Daniels's whereabouts remain unknown. Carinne has her hands full keeping Kaeley alive with a round-the-clock vigil. The task of determining the fate of her father's heir has now fallen square on the shoulders of the youngest remaining Firewolf.
