At the start of next game, characters will be given the opportunity to collect a back log of Talons. Specifically, one weeks worth, using the rules detailed below. Firstly, let me distinguish and define some terms. A Talon is an item with a bound spirit, which grants some minor power or benefit. Almost all Talons are one use only, and all talons have an expiration date. A Talisman is an item of mystical properties which does not have a bound spirit. Most, but not all Talismans are one use only, and some have expiration dates. A Talisman is not a fetish, and need not be given the same respect; that is not to say that a talisman is not valuable or important to hold dear; just that because they do not directly contain a spirit, they are of less importance. Talismans are a broad class of items; his may include items created by vampire magics, wizards or specific rites. The most commonly encountered Talismans by Garou are those created by spirits - Almost all such Talismans are composed of Solidified Gnosis, and can in someway be broken down for its component energies. They are not particularly common, but I mention them so that an important distinction can be understood. To create Talons, a character must possess the Rite of Binding. In Downtime, a character may choose to create various items, which may include Talons. They will be allocated a number of ' mystical production points' equal to there permanent Gnosis times there Rank. They may exchange these points for Levels of Talons. For example, a Fostern with Gnosis 5 would have 10 Production Points, and be able to make two level 5 Talons, or three level 3 Talons and a level 1 Talon. All Talons made in this way have an expiration date 4 weeks from there creation. They will operate exactly 4 weeks from the date of their creation, and is not usable on the day of expiration (regardless of the time of day the crafting was done.) Characters may choose to extend this time with additional points of production, at a rate of one point for each additional 4 weeks. A talon's maximum expiration date is its level times 4 weeks. As a benefit to players, items created during downtime are considered to be created on the day of game. If a character wishes to craft an item in downtime, Staff will assign a level to the item and 'mundane production points' are expended to build/assemble/craft the item in question. Mundane production point totals are equal to the characters Mental Traits (Maximum Counted is 10) times there Crafts Ability. Characters should be sure to have all the appropriate Resources, Rites, and tools for all forms of crafting, mystical or not. After next session, all Crafting should submitted with Downtime. Production totals may be lowered if a character is busy with lots of other tasks, at the discretion of Staff. If Downtime is not submitted, the player may request Half their normal capacity upon arrival at site. Talons are specifically at the discretion of staff on there powers, levels and other effects. This may supercede LotW. Items, Talons and Talisman creation must always be done with a narrator present. |
