~Dray~ ~In Charge~
|
Sitting cross-legged, Rin meditated in his room, three candles burning around him as he calmed his mind. Something fuzzy prickled at his mind. He had always felt this and thought nothing of it as he pushed it away, welcoming the deep black emptiness. Concentrating on his breathing, he relaxed, deeper into the darkness. He listened to the thrumming of his heart, silencing everything else. Something pricked his mind, irritating Rin as he tried to recede deeper still into the darkness, but that prick wouldn't let him. It was actually pulling him up, out of his relaxed state. A soft flutter, almost like wings, touched the back of his neck. His eyes popped open out of surprise. He didn't have anything with feathers. Besides, his long black hair was laying against his back before he had started. His ice-blue eyes went wide as everything spun around him. Feeling sick and unable to recognize anything, he closed his eyes once more. Realizing the floor felt different, thicker and plusher compared to his flat, hard floor, Rin opened his eyes. He stood up, cautiously, as a room full of couches, chairs, televisions, stereos, and other recreational items came into view. He was surprised to see that the room even contained a pool table. Rin noticed the chairs and couches were made of slick black fabric that he didn't recognize. There were red-wood tables dotted the room, making it look almost like a living room or study area. Turning about, Rin had no idea where he was. He had just been in his room at home, killing time before he had lunch. It had been about eleven. He glanced around and caught sight of a clock. Seven o'clock. "Hello?" He called out, turning to glance around the room, again. He was beginning to panic, being somewhere by himself without knowing why. The school transported students to the lounge when they were new. Most of the students didn't know they had special powers, let alone that it would bring them here. Powers blossomed in each person at different ages as they grew. Rin might be an older one of the students at seventeen, but it wasn't uncommon for a student to be as old as twenty before they're brought to the school. Rarely, the powers would manifest later than that. It was normal for students to be scared, having had no prior knowledge nor time to even say good-bye before they were transported to the school. |

Veronica was exhausted. She had just gotten off a double shift at the restaurant she worked at, and in a few hours she would have to be at her second job. She sighed loudly as she walked through her empty house to her room. 'Of course they're not home, probably out at another charity event or something.' She thought to herself as she plopped down on her favorite chair. 'Guess I might as well get a little nap in before I go.' She closed her eyes and suddenly felt nauseous. "Oh boy, I hope thats not the stomach bug thats been going around." She said to herself as she opened her eyes and almost had a heart attack. This was not her home, not her room, not even close. It looked like she had woken up in a chair in a big rec room. 'I must be dreaming, this can't be real, can it?' She thought as feelings of panic begin to rise. She sighed inwardly at herself, even though things were weird and she was panicking, she felt a little glad that she could feel something at all. She heard someone say hello behind her and she finally got out of her chair to look around. She saw a boy she'd never seen before, who looked just as panicked as she was. 'What is this place? Ver thought as she tried to muster up something to say. She settled on "Uh, Hi. Do you know what the eff is going on here?" She gave him a nervous smile as she smoothed down her black tank top. It seemed silly compared to what was going on, but at the moment she was just glad she had changed out of her work clothes and into some faded jeans and her converse. She took a few deep breaths trying to calm herself while she waited for an answer. |

Now this is just odd, Gabrielle Marwick thought as she examined her new surroundings that seemed to have changed in the past five minutes. No longer was she comfortably lounging in her house; she was now in a giant room that did not resemble any place she had ever been before in her life. The decor was not that of her cool-toned beach house. Rather, it sharply contrasted her childhood home with its reds and blacks. Hands on her hips, Gabrielle slowly took in her surroundings. No, it most certainly was not any place she had been before. She was positive she would have remembered if she had, as she prided herself in having an almost freakishly precise memory. On her fifth birthday, her mother had spun her around with glee, calling her 'my little elephant'. Gabrielle could practically still feel the wind on her face, and her pig tails whipping against her face from the speed. However, now was not the time to reminisce over days past; Gabrielle needed to get to the bottom of the sudden change of location, and fast. Two others were already in the room. One, a boy with long hair that Gabrielle considered to be quite feminine, and the other a girl in jeans. Neither seemed to know exactly what was happening, so it seemed pointless to ask any questions as to where they were located. "Well," Gabrielle began, a nervous smile slowly growing on her face. "This is a surprise." Quickly glancing down to make sure she was still wearing her white dress from before, Gabrielle soon returned to examining the other two. |

Cynder was sitting at home, all alone in Shadowrider Manor. She had been lounging on her bed, staring at the ceiling and wishing that life wasn't so boring. Sure, she had her driver's license and all, but even going places was getting old quick. Suddenly, she felt nauseous, as if she were going to throw up. Swinging her legs off the bed, she reached for a trashcan to barf in but never made it. Her hands looked like they were moving in slow motion, and as Cynder stood up her reality vastly changed. One minute she was lying on her four-poster bed with the black hangings, and the next minute she had vanished and reappeared at a strange place that was most definitely not her bedroom. Shakily, Cynder placed one hand on a wall and looked around. Her face was pointed toward the ground so no expression could be seen. As she lifted her head, she looked around at the room. It was done up in red and black, like a Goth person had gotten ahold of the paints. Then she saw some black couches that appeared to be made of leather until she touched it. Nope, not leather. Sitting down, she thought to herself, What the hell just happened? That’s when she noticed the other three people. One was a boy with long black hair (which she thought looked great on him), and the other two girls were both blondes. One was wearing jeans and Converse, and the other was in a white dress. Cynder smiled at all of them before checking to make sure her piercings were still in place. And they were. She herself was dressed in her usual outfit of black leather pants that looked poured on, a short black T-shirt that said AC/DC on it in green Old-English style writing and showed off her flat stomach, a cropped black leather jacket, and knee-high black leather boots that zipped up the side. Her tongue ring was pure silver and had an emerald in it, which could only be seen while she talked. Cynder’s eyebrow ring and lip ring were pure silver with spikes on each end, and her belly ring was pure silver with an emerald at the top and the bottom of it. Massaging her forehead, she looked up again. “Hi. So um…does anyone know what happened?" she asked. Cynder was eternally grateful that she hadn’t taken off her boots and jacket before lying down on her bed. She looked at a nearby clock that read 7:07am. OK, now I’m worried, she thought. It had previously been 3:07pm in the afternoon before this happened. Pushing up the sleeves of her jacket so that her Anubis tattoo on her left forearm was visible, Cynder pondered what to do. Staring up at the ceiling, she wished really hard and tried to make like Dorothy from the Wizard Of Oz, picturing herself at home, in her bedroom. But nothing happened. “Well, crap,” she said to herself. Edited by Cynder Shadowrider, Dec 6 2010, 12:28 PM.

James had been hanging off his bed trying to read his comic book and ignore his twin brother, Skyler, at the same time. It really wasn't working out. Skyler had been going off about some comet arriving in the next three years. Like he cared. But that was Sky's love affair the stars and crap. James flipped a page of his comic not really reading. He was hoping his brother would get the hint that he really didn't care but Sky was in his own world. "And I probably won't even need to use my telescope to see it because it'll be so bright. Of course if I want a detailed look on it I'll need to bring it along with but it's still quite amazing." Sky looked at his brother with glee. James looked up at him. "What? You saying something?" Skyler glared at his twin. "I know full well you were listening James. Now just pretend to be interested for once instead of reading that garbage." James sat up and shoved the comic in his brother's face. "The Adventures Of Captain Underpants is not garbage. It's pure genius. If I was a superhero I would tottaly just go around in my underpants. Think of the freedom!" He stared off dreamily. Sky pretended to gag. "Yeah right. I think it would-" But he stopped short. Sky pressed a hand to his stomache. For some reason he felt nausous all of the sudden. Weird, he had felt just fine a second ago. James ignored him. "Well I for one would just want to pretend to be a superhero for one day so I can run around in my underpants and go save people. It's just classic." He smiled at his brother and then quickly frowned. All of the sudden he felt like he was going to hurl any second. The last thought that went through his head before he shut his eyes was how big of a laugh it would be if he threw up on Skyler. When he opened his eyes to try and take aim he realized he wasn't feeling sick anymore and more importantly not in his room. He looked around and saw Skyler was staring around in shock and just as confused as he was. It looked like a teenage lounge more than anything. But the boys could not figure out how James' room suddenly turned into a lounge in just a split second. James looked over the couch they were currently seated on and saw they weren't alone. There was another boy and three girls. James grinned, things were turning around all ready. Skyler looked around with a scared look on his face. If there was anything that would cause him to have a nervous fit it was meeting new people, let alone four people in an unknown place. James got up tugging his brother with him. He pushed his black hair out of his blue eyes and smiled at everyone. "Hello. So uhh anyone else find this incrediably strange or is it just us?" Skyler shifted beside him. He let his blonde hair fall on his face covering his green eyes. The two boys were identical expect for the hair and the eyes. James wore scuffed up converse with black ripped jeans and an Iron Maiden t-shirt. Skyler sported similar shoes with unscathed blue jeans and a green button down shirt with the sleeves pushed up and untucked. He slid himself behind his brother unsure on what was going on but being completly aware that everyone else looked just as confused as he felt. |

Last one onto the ice, and the last one off, Jordan Rogers edged his way through the tunnel and his teammates, and into the locker room. He listend to the coaches post-game speech and then shucked his goalie pads into his locker, making a hasty retreat into the showers before pulling on slacks and a button up. Done before the rest of his team, he grabbed his skates and other various bits of gear and left, yelling goodbyes to the guys he had known for years. Skirting the group of parents and girlfriends, he made his way out of the arena and into the clear and cold air of Canada. He tossed his things into his truck and made for the rink across town to pick up his twin from work. Emma was ready to leave, hair braided around her head and out of the way, gear bag by her feet as he pulled up to the iceplex. Her bag joined his as she climbed into the cab and greeted him with a smile and a cup of coffee from the stand in the rink. They didn't talk much as they headed to the small apartment they shared near the primary school, and silently unloaded and headed up to their house, dumping gear in the living room and then heading to respective rooms to sleep. Emma was the first to lay down to go to sleep, and soon after she had relaxed and gotten comfortable, her nose started to itch like crazy. Reaching up to scratch it, she sneezed and opened her eyes. She bolted upright, the room looking nothing like her room at home. For one, there was a group of people in it, and for another, it was large. She had arrived in time to hear the black haired boy speak and shook her head. "Nope. I'm pretty much lost too." Jordan had been playing games on his laptop when he began to feel a bit sick. He stood up and went to grab a drink, swallowing the entire glass of water with his eyes shut. When he opened them, he was standing next to a boy with long hair, his hand raised as if he had a glass. Glancing around, completely confused, he caught sight of his sister and quickly made his way over to her. "What the hell just happened?" he asked her, glancing around when she shook her head. This was freaking weird. |

Rin glanced around as people began showing up, seemingly out of no where. He didn't believe that, however, as he took another glance around. He guessed there were about eight people in the room, now. With a sigh, he shook his head. "Apparently, no one knows what's going on or why we're here." He informed the group, his cool, collected demeanor firmly in place. Turning, Rin's eyes lit on each girl before he took a breath. "My name is Rin Sanguis." He glanced at the clock. "It had been ten in the morning before I arrived here where that clock" he indicated it with a nod of his head "Read seven in the morning. It seemed instantaneous, but there's really no telling. It could have been sleep gas, anything. We need to play it cool until we figure this out." He resisted the urge to smile at his ability to manipulate people. (I have three ppl I wanna bring in but IDK when, yet. And PMing Cyn, so don't worry. Just don't mention anything bout powers, yet.) |

Jordan nodded slowly and glanced down at Emma. "It was near 11 at night back home. We had just gotten in. I'm Jordan Rogers. The little thing by my feet is my twin sister, Emma. We're from Canada." He jumped out of the way as Emma wacked at his shins and glared at her. "Doubt it has anything to do with being knocked out. I took a drink of water and opened my eyes. My guess is that there was a time change of some sort between home and here." he patted his pockets. "Seem to have lost my cell as well." Emma rolled her eyes and picked herself up off the floor, surveying the room around her. There were a few boys, another set of twins it looked like, and a few girls who were quite pretty in their own rights. She would die to get the white dress the blonde was wearing. The back of her neck prickled as her gaze landed on the long haird guy and he shook her head, picking at the oversized shirt of her bothers she wore over ratty pj pants. Wordlessly, Jordan pulled his sweatshirt off and handed it to Emma, who pulled it gratefully over her head. Not wanting to talk, she moved to look around, poking in book shelves and generally searching the room for things that might tell where they were. Edited by Emma Rogers, Dec 5 2010, 11:36 PM.

Veronica looked on in astonishment as new people kept arriving. They all seemed to be teenagers which comforted her and scared her at the same time. She noticed that the blond girl who arrived after her seemed pretty calm about things, and was wondering if she knew more when she heard her say she was surprised. 'Well, guess not.' She sighed inwardly and kept checking out the people who showed up. After the blond came another girl who seemed completely opposite, who also had no idea what was happening. A cute set of twin boys showed up next, and Veronica couldn't help but smile. "Definitely not just you that finds it strange, this is pretty crazy." She said as she smiled at the twin with darker hair. 'Maybe this won't be so horrible after all.' She thought then blushed. What a stupid time for teenage hormones, they could all be sent here for something bad, and all she could think of was cute boys. She pushed the thoughts out of her mind and tried to once again focus on the task of observing what was happening. She smiled at the brother and sister who arrived and was suddenly grateful she didn't put her pjs on to take a nap like she usually did. She met Rin's glance as he spoke, noticing that he seemed to have a take charge sort of nature. She couldn't quite figure out what sort of vibe she got from him yet, it wasn't bad, but it didn't seem like a good one either. She looked at the clock as he pointed out the time. How did I not notice that before? She wondered as she tried to remember what time it was before she got here. It was certainly hours ago, and she had definitely missed work. 'I don't know how i'd explain this to my boss.' She nodded hello as Jordan introduced himself and Emma. She checked her pockets for her phone when he mentioned his, but didn't find it. "Hello, I'm Veronica, and my phones gone too. I laid down for a nap, felt nauseous and suddenly, well, I think you know..." She trailed off, knowing that everyone knew the rest. She ended up here, just like they did. Edited by Veronica Porter, Dec 6 2010, 01:05 AM.

Cynder shook her head and looked at what appeared to be a set of twin boys. “Nope, this is crazy. I wish I knew what to do or where to go.” As the boy with the long hair spoke and introduced himself, she spoke up too. “Terribly sorry. My name is Cynder Shadowrider, and I’m from the UK.” Rin motioned to the clock and she sighed. “It was 3pm when I was at home. One minute I was lying in bed wishing something exciting would happen, and the next minute I felt sick and appeared here.” She shook her head. “It was really weird. Everything seemed to slow down, like I was moving in slow motion.” Cynder glanced at the little group. “Anyone else have that happen? Myself, I was lying in bed and staring at the ceiling.” Then another set of twins appeared, fraternal ones this time and introduced themselves, saying they were from Canada. As the first blonde-haired girl spoke and said her name was Veronica, she was the second one to mention that her cell was gone. Panicked, Cynder patted her pockets for her phone and found it. She flipped it open and punched some buttons. “Shoot. I have mine, but it won’t turn on. I know the battery’s not dead, because I had just gotten off the phone and it was fully charged.” She looked around. “Do you suppose this is magic?” |

Skyler looked over at the new set of twins that appeared. 'Canada?' Things were defintly getting stranger. James smiled at the new comers. "Aw look Sky, we're not the only people with the same brain! How exciting." Skyler rolled his eyes at his brother. Sometimes he can just be so dim. Skyler patted his pockets. "James.. my phone's gone." James frowned, Sky always had his phone. "Well I would say my phone mysteriously dissappeared but I chucked it out my window and haven't seen it since. And that was two months ago so I'm not completely shocked I don't have mine." He looked over at the girl who called herself Veronica. She was defintly up his alley. Blonde hair, blue eyes. She was his type, well usually girl was his type but she was defintly someone he wanted to know. Sky nudged his brother noticing he was getting sidetracked. "I'm Skyler and this is my twin brother James. We're from London and it was about 3pm too." He smiled at Cynder grateful that there was someone that could speak properly without adding eh? to everything. James grinned. "Well isn't this fascinating. We're from England. Cynder's from England. And then we have two Canadians." He looked over at Ver. "Where you from? Maybe this place is in America and they're trying to kill all the forgieners because they're jeolous of our accent." He winked at Cynder. "I would want my sexy voice if I didn't already have it." He looked over at Rin and wondered why the boy never bothered to cut his hair like a proper bloke. Millie turned to look at Tristan, her brother. "Tristan, I'll be right back." She told him, kissing his cheek in a silent message between them. She went off to hide in her room. Her father was mad and Tristan was going to take the blame for something she had done. Turning with her back against the door, she flinched at the BAM that sounded downstairs. Her breath caught as she felt sick, her eyes closed. When she opened them again, she found herself leaning against a wall in a huge room full of people. Millie had done her long golden brown hair up in braided pigtails that morning and now she felt foolish. Feeling like a little kid around a bunch of strangers, she swatted her braids behind her back. "Hi, my name is Millie." She murmured softly. "And I'm from the US." She added in a disapproving voice towards James' comment. Rin smiled as he watched everyone. He pulled his hair back into a ponytail before he straightened his black shirt. He wore blue jeans, so at least no one could mention his all black he usually wore. He glanced at the girl in all leather. "Do you believe in magic?" He murmured before glancing at the group. "My phone was on my night-stand, so I don't have mine. And I'm from the US as well." He added. (We can do the orientation reactions any time now. ^^) |

Veronica raised her eyebrows as the girl in leather who she now knew as Cynder talked about magic. I mean, this was really weird thats true, but magic? She had a hard time grasping that. Although the fact that she mysteriously appeared here had her seriously thinking about it. She mentally shook her head to clear her thoughts and started paying attention again. She couldn't help but let out the smallest chuckle at James accent comment. "Well actually I'm from the Us too." She said after Millie, smiling at the girl who just appeared. She heard Rin speak, then saw someone new approaching. He seemed to be the only one who knew what was going on, so she listened to him intently and sat down in front of the tv when he told them to. She looked around to the others seeing how they were reacting to this. She tried her best to soak in all that was being said on the tv but found herself more and more confused. 'Powers? I have powers?' She thought to herself, wondering what on earth they could be. And those side effects didn't sound like fun. Plus, learning about how she could easily die didn't exactly sound good either. She got up as her name was called and managed to return the mans smile as she received her watch. She couldn't believe this was happening. All this time, wanting to get out of her house, to not be ordinary, it was finally happening. Sure, it was a lot to handle, but, this life sounded much better than her previous one of double shifts and absent parents. She looked at each one of the people she'd be spending what she assumed would be a lot of time with. "So, what now?" She said with a sort of nervous chuckle. James pouted at Millie. "Ruin my idea." Skyler rolled is eyes. "Ignore him. He's a prat." Skyler looked at Rin. Magic? No there was no such thing. That was something that people pretend to do on stages. It was all an illusion, none of it was real. But this, this was very real. He was very much not in his brother's room at his house. He looked up at the newcomer and nudeged his brother nodding his head to the boy. They both listened to him speak. Powers? That wasn't possible. James grinned crazily at his brother and Sky new exactly what he was thinking about. He shook his head at his brother warning him. "James this isn't Captain Underpants. This is real with dangerous side effects. Who knows what could happen." He stopped when James' name was called up. James bounced up and received his watch excitdly and waitied impatiently for Skyler to get his. Sky stared at his. This wasn't real. This couldn't be. James was being oblivious to his brother's inner termoil. "Bloody hell Sky! This is my chance. I can be Captain Underpants for real! Oh this is genius." Skyler shushed his brother at looked at Veronica. "Hang on so we're just expected to abandon our lives and work on this power? What about family, friends?" James placed a calming hand on his brother. "Relax Sky, I'm sure we'll find out sooner or later whats going with that." He looked up at Veronica. "Well why don't we get out of here and see the school. Maybe it could help us understand what else is going on." |

Millie smiled at the boy named Skyler. She shifted, realizing she was in her overalls, half-covered in dirt from working with the horses. "Magic depends on how you look at it." She whispered and then cleared her throat. She glanced at the girl, Veronica, and smiled back. She was shy and didn't make friends well, but maybe this was her chance. Then the guy walked in and her world turned upside-down. Rin glanced around to each of them. He was glad none of them seemed to be freaking out too much. He kept himself mostly out of the conversation, unsure as to what he should say. The guy showed up and everyone seemed to converge to watch the TV, even the girl, Millie who had sat next to Ver. Rin had stood behind the rest as the program played through. What is going on, here? Is this some sort of joke or prank? Millie wondered, suddenly frightened. She wanted Tristan more than anything, which reminded her of just before she arrived. He was getting punished for something she had done and she couldn't even thank him. When her name was called, she stood with her head down and retrieved her watch before returning to her seat silently. Rin had listened intently, keeping his mind open as the man on the TV talked. He received his watch without a word. At Ver's question and James' suggestion, Rin thought to pipe up, "It would be a good idea to look around the school, but should we split up or stay as a group?" He questioned, looking them all over. |

Emma had wandered back over to the group when the guy arrived and had sat silently between Veronica and Jordan, one eyebrow raised the entire time. She felt Jordan tense beside her when it was stated they couldn't leave, and knew that he was thinking about work, school and hockey. Elbowing him, she stood to get her watch. Slipping it onto her wrist, Emma studied the watch carefully, wondering why this was given for a school, even a magical one. Wouldn't they be able to keep track of time on their own? She shook her head and glanced up, still standing by her chair. "I say we should do groups of a few guys and a few girls. They said there's two dorms, so we could tell the others what we found. If not, than we should stick together. At least until we know what this place is all about, and get to know others." Jordan had been fiddling with his watch, buckling around his right wrist as he listened to his sister speak. Lifting his head, he looked at each face in turn, studying them and matching names to faces. "What's wrong with Canada?" He asked James, raising an eyebrow. "Our parents moved there from the outskirts of London in the 60s. We grew up spending summers out on the ocean in England." "Shut up, Jordan." Emma replied with a roll of her eyes. "He doesn't like people talking crap about Canada. We got enough of that growing up. The queen is the queen, mate, no matter where you're living, I reckon." she smiled slightly and sat down, beginning to unravel the braid around her head. |

"Gabrielle, from France." The girl introduced herself, noticing that the rest of the group had already moved past meeting each other and had begun the quest to move on. Gabrielle had been to absorbed in trying to understand the introduction to the school to really pay attention to what had been said by the rest of misfits, so she pretended she had been in on the conversation the whole time. At the mention of splitting up, Gabrielle shook her head fiercely. "No, I don't like that idea. I feel like it could lead to problems. People always die in movies when they split up. Big groups with the buddy system are better," Her hands were clasped as she tried to gather her thoughts into a cohesive and understandable sentence. "That way everyone keeps an eye out for each other." The heavy watch now on her wrist seemed like a reminder of the life she had apparently left behind. No more summers by the beach, or trips to the city to spend time ogling the tourists that seemed to gravitate to the country. Whatever powers she was supposed to have were far from her mind; powers were illogical and therefore she could not comprehend what she was even doing there. Though fun loving, Gabrielle considered herself grounded in logic. Magic powers just did not seem plausible to her. "Powers...?" She said to herself, eyes wide. No, it just did not seem real to her. |

Cynder looked up as a man came in the room and introduced himself as Brad. She watched with a slightly bored look on her face as the program played through, but eventually the look changed to excited. Powers? For real? This was awesome! After Brad left, she looked around at the group. “Well, that was unexpected. But I think it’s kind of cool. Just think, I was wishing for something exciting to happen, and now it has. Brilliant, I say.” She took the offered watch and fastened it onto her left wrist before thinking how great this would be. Of course, being who she was, she had completely ignored the part about the possibility of death. Then, in perfect French, she turned to the girl who had introduced herself as Gabrielle and said, "Ooh, France? Vraiment? Je n'ai pas été là pourtant, mais j'ai entendu c'est beau. Est ce vrai?" (Ooh, France? Really? I haven’t been there yet, but I heard it’s beautiful. Is that true?) Cynder looked at James and said, “Er…Captain Underpants, mate?” Then she gave him a smile before looking over at Rin. He really was her type...tall, long hair, and charming. Or at least he seemed to be charming. She definitely wanted to get to know him better, so she shot him a flirty smile before looking at Millie. “Hi, I’m Cynder. Pleased to meet you Millie,” she said, holding out her hand. Maybe while she was here, she would be able to make some friends, real friends that liked her for who she was, not for what she could buy for them. If they didn’t already know she was the Shadowrider heir (and possibly only James and Skyler would know that since they were from England as well), she wasn’t going to advertise it. Nope, this was her chance to start with a clean slate, so to speak. She looked over at James’ twin brother, Skyler, who seemed to be on the shy side. “He has a point. Our families are going to notice we’re gone, and then we’ll have Scotland Yard everywhere panicking and turning the world upside down looking for us.” Cynder looked thoughtful. “Well, who knows? Maybe since magic is apparently real, maybe they’ve got robots who look like us taking our places at home. Personally, I really hope something like that has happened. I’m an only child and my parents are way over-protective…they’ll freak out.” Cynder gave a grin. “Brilliant! Four Americans, two Canadians, four English people, and one French person.” As Rin spoke, she said, “Personally, I like the idea of splitting up, like Emma said. Then we can do twice the exploring.” She nodded to Emma as she spoke. “I doubt we’ll have any problems…after all, we’re magical folk, right? But I wonder how we discover what our powers are. I just hope mine’s something cool, like the ability to fly.” |

Rin glanced around as he listened to everyone. He glanced at the clock once more, then frowned. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm hungry. Whether it's a real meal or just snacks, I'm going to the cafeteria. If any of you want to join me, you can. After that, I'm going to go find my room in my dorm before exploring." He took a breath, looking around, again. Seeing Cynder's flirtatious attitude, Rin smirked. Maybe I can use her... He thought to himself before he cleared his throat. "If there really is 'magic' in us and this... school, then maybe they have spelled our parents to think they approved, not remember us at all, not care, or perhaps no magic was used at all and our parents really do know exactly where we are." He concluded thoughtfully. Millie smilled and shook Cynder's hand. "I'm Millie." She turned to the rest. "I'd really like to become friends with all of you and get to know each of you, but from the sounds of it," she glanced at the TV before returning her gaze to the group, "We'll be spending a long time here." She glanced down at her dirty clothes. "I was working with the horses today and could use a shower and some clean clothes, so I'm up for going to the dorms." She unconsciously stroked one of her braids as she smiled at Emma. Millie took a deep breath after Rin had spoken. "I could use a bite to eat, I suppose, as it was nearly lunch time before..." She trailed off, taking a deep breath to calm herself. "If you would like to go to the dorms, I would be more than happy to join you. If you would like to eat first, then that's okay, too. I just don't want to be by myself right now." She admitted, talking directly to Emma and the other girls. |

James looked up at Rin at the mention of food. "Ohhhhh foood!! Skyler let's go get food. Explore later, eat now." He started tugging on his brother's arm. "Come on Sky!! Food!" Skyler rolled his eyes. James had an endless stomache. He could always go for a meal and look like he hadn't eaten in days. His mother had always talked about how him and James had an unnaturally high metabolism but it had to be worse for his brother. Skyler let his twin guide him out of the room. "Guess we're eating first. See you all around then. James, seriously? You ate an hour ago your not going to starve." James groaned at his brother. "But that was a whole hour ago! And with this stress of being poofed everywhere, oh dear god I need some comfort food." Skyler rolled his eyes and let his brother tug him down to the cafeteria. |

Veronica had been thinking to herself through most of the talking, but she had managed to hear what people were saying. "Well, it seems like we could all use some food. Why don't we all just go to the cafeteria, then split up from there?" She said looking to see if anyone agreed. She felt kind of in a daze and couldn't help but wonder if this was all some really weird and vivid dream. While she was off in her own world, she managed to stop paying attention to where she was going and walked right into one of the twins. She fell completely on her butt, and couldn't stop blushing. She looked up and saw that it was James that she ran into. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention, and i'm kind of a klutz." She said quickly as she continued sitting on the ground in embarrassment. |

While everything was happening, Faye and Luca had been in the backyard of their simple country-side home; Luca sitting on the grass and reading a book he borrowed from the library nearby, while Faye had been beside him, playing with their pet cat. All in all, it was a regular afternoon for them. Faye was the first to break the silence. "Fratello, si sta facendo tardi, penso." ['Brother, it's getting late, I think.'] the blonde mused, lifting her head to look at her brother. "Hm?" the other responded, putting his book down to look back at her. "Ah ... Vuoi tornare dentro ora, sorellina?" ['Ah... Would you like us to go back inside now, little sister?'] he finally replied, a small smile on his face as he stood up. "Sì!" She said back, standing up with a bright smile of her own. However, before either one could get more than a few steps toward their home, in the blink of an eye, they found themselves definitely not where they were a few seconds ago. A few mutterings and walking around later, they came upon a room where the only other inhabitants they could find where. Faye was the first to react, blinking rapidly before turning to her fratello. Seeing the question in her eyes, he nodded back, gesturing to the others. Entering the room hesitantly, they pretty much just stood there, close enough to the wall that they wouldn't be a bother, yet near enough to hopefully be noticed. As much as they were curious as to what was going on, Faye was much too shy to approach the group, and Luca was too cautious and was too busy trying to figure things out to bother with the limited social skills he possessed. |
