Deleting cookies will log you out of websites that you have downloaded cookies from and will also help to rid your computer of spyware. It can also help to control SPAM (stupid, pointless, annoying messages) in email. To do this on your Windows PC click on the start icon at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Please note that this is the default position of your toolbar. Once you have opened the start menu click on My Computer. You should see images of drives. Click on the drive that says C(Local Drive), and then click on Explore" Click WINDOWS, then click Temp, then click cookies, there may be an "Index.dat" file notice when you try to delete it, it wont go away... this is because it is a .DAT file that stores all computer related tasks. Leave this file alone. Deleting it could cause your computer to crash. To get rid of the cookies click the first cookie, then press and hold "Shift" on the keyboard now click the other cookies (while holding Shift) and delete them. You can either use the delete key on your keyboard or right click and click on delete from the pop up menu. Now go to the recycle bin and click "Empty the Recycle Bin". This will permanently delete all stored cookies on your computer. Please note that InvisionFree forums have an option to delete all cookies set by the board. This can be found at the bottom of the main page of any IF forum. |
