If I'm not mistaken, a graphics card not only is used for gaming, but it enhances visual performance when running a multimedia program like flash. I was reading an article- http://apps.ati.com/ir/PressReleaseText.as...eleaseID=772964 and basically they created a liquid nitrogen cooling system which allowed them to seriously overclock a graphics card. Does heat play a major role in your computers/computer parts' performance? I mean, some graphic cards have their own small fan. As do processors (I think). When doing design work ('design' referring to web, graphic and interactive design), my notebook (been truckin along for almost three years now) takes a huge strain. Multitasking is almost impossible without optimizing my 128mb of ram. The fan hardly ever comes on any more, but it does get quite warm. If I backed it up into the front of my airconditioning, would that make any difference? (giving it five or so minutes prior to work to cool down and reach the lowest possible temperature). I once left my aircon on and returned some fifteen or so minutes later to find that windows ran slightly smoother (also, the palm rest was a lot more comfortable instead of that eery, kinda gross warmness). I'll try it anyway next time I have a project to work on. A quick fix solution would be to upgrade, but Id rather wait around and save up for something worth spending on. Besides, Id probably only upgrade the ram (which is only expandable to 384mb).
