It had been many long years since the Akatsuki had made a major appearance. Their plan to kidnap Naurto was thwarted by Jiraiya that time, but nobody was around to protect him today As the Chunin hopefuls awaited entrance into the Forrest of Death Uchiha Itachi and his partner Kisame wandered through the plain of barren trees, searching for food. Itachi was prepared to capture Naruto at all costs, even if it meant the destruction of his younger brother, Sasuke. His lips quivered as the name peeked through them. Kisame looked around. It was the first time he had heard Itachi speak in days, a surprising break from the usual nods and grunts. "Kisame, listen closely... Orichimaru is up to something. His fear of me has driven him farther and farther away from our organization. He'll be leaving soon, which puts you second in command, next to me of course. I want you to leave the forrest, and watch out for the goons Orichimaru sent in. Whatever you do, don't lose them. I want to know exactly what that fool's up to... Now go, and don't look back!" The shout echoed through the woods. At that very moment Naruto Uzumaki was leaning against the giant steel fence. A slight breeze was coming through just as the distant voice reached his ears. Deeper in the forrest all that could be heard were the laughs of a cold-blooded killer. "Naruto Uzumaki, your Biju will be mine, and so will the power that comes with it..." Itachi's Sharingan twinkled in the moon's light. The time had finly come... |
