Unless you'll be actually needing the portability of a laptop, id suggest going for a desktop. For a gaming PC, a desktop is a better investment because they can be upgraded and are clearly more powerful. By all means, get a notebook, but just remember the majority of the cost is paying for the technology that went behind making it portable, and if you dont actually need that/use it that much, then your money could be better used for desktop components. With 4 grand, you could go nuts with parts. Customization can be a big thing for gamers. Scrap stock parts and build the thing from scratch. |
