I just surfed over to Slickplaid's website, http://slickplaid.com, only to find that it has been hacked by some Brazilian hacker group. hopefully it's back up soon. I called Slickplaid, but he didn't answer. I wonder if he knows?

If you don't know, Slickplaid is a goo dfriend of mine who occasionally visits the forums. He's a great designer, and every now and then I check his blog. Anyway, when I went to his website there was nothing but the hacker's names, a brazilian ASCII flag, and a paragraph of brazilian text.

Now, I'm portguese, and Brazilian and Portuguese are fairly similar, so I translated what I could. So, here's the rough translation:

Quote:

In Brazil of them you finish decades, the misery had diverse faces. It had a time where, romantic, it it beat our door. It asked for a food plate to us. Some times, roupinha requested for one old. We knew our beggars. They fit in the fingers of one of the hands. They were part of the neighborhood. To the alimentálos and Vestiz them, we alliviated our consciences. The urbanization of Brazil gave to the certain misery impessoalidade. It started to present itself as an element of the landscape. Something to be seen by janelinha of the car, however esparramada on the sidewalk, however refugee under the viaduct. Modernity brought new forms of contact with the wealth. Soon the misery was beating, dirty, ragged, in the glass of our car. The traffic lights had gained an unexpected function social. We start to exercise our infinite goodness dripping almses in hands routes. We continued of good with our pillows. With the time, the misery conquered the pipes of image of the TV devices. To the few, it was losing the docilidade. The street offered something to us beyond canalized water and electric light. The telejornais had started to pour violence on the carpet of the room, to the feet of our sofas. It was as if we made use of an efficient system of canalized misery. So simple how much to turn a tap or to set in motion an interruptor, was enough to press the button of the TV. Although violent, the misery in the excluía. Suddenly, the misery tired to donate. It now does not ask for; she demands. It already does not request; she takes. The misery does not beat more á our door; it invades. It ahead does not extend the hand of the glass of the car; it pulls out the clocks of the detracted arms. Acuada, the city passed of oppressor the victim of the mounts. In Present-day Brazil, the wealth is hostage of the misery. The constitution of the profile of the misery in Brazil directly is related with the increasing modernization of the parents.

MD5 isnt a type of PHP database but its a form of encryption.

This excerpt taken from Wikipedia.com
Quote:

In cryptography, MD5 (Message-Digest algorithm 5) is a widely-used cryptographic hash function with a 128-bit hash value. As an Internet standard (RFC 1321), MD5 has been employed in a wide variety of security applications, and is also commonly used to check the integrity of files.

Some other forms of encryption are Base64 and SHA-1

same as WFD
basically, Slickplaid is his business portfolio. He deals mostly with CSS based websites. The site was down anyway, but the blog was up and powered by WordPress

hopefully his site has an IP log so he can see who those hackers are but it may not make a difference if he knows their IP most likely the hackers are using a super safe proxy

why not just turn his server offline and then start all over again, that starting over again part would be a pain, and to restore everything or atleast some of the things...
