Hello, I've got a couple of questions that have popped up while browsing these forums and WebFuzion Designs. From previous posts, I've gathered that some of the people that work for zeerus are older than him. This is no concern, but what interests me is, how do you go about making websites or web layouts? Does one of you specifically follow it though, or do you all work together using expertise of each staff member to create it? I've been interested in webdesign for quite a while now. I find it remarkable that zeerus and crew work at such a young age. A few more questions, mainly aimed at Zeerus. I've found many others my age who are interested in webdesign, but you're the first one I've found who actually is working in the field. Kind of inspirational in a way, but do you ever get attitude just because of your age? For example, will clients look down on your work just because of your age? Its a shame that WebFuzion Designs is down at the moment. I'm looking forward to see more of your work. Also, where do you get the money to pay your workers? Did you get your parents approval and they've been helping fund it? I've been wondering how you went about this because it seems very successful. I'd like to work with you, not for money, but for the experience. Maybe when I've finished my personal portfolio site, you could have a look and consider this. By the way, my name's Ryan and im 14. |

I could possibly answer some of your questions. Zeerus and I develope sites based on the clients needs. Since this site is his, he does the majority of the work while I do simply flash work. I can do everything Z can, but since I am experienced in an area he is not, my greatest contribution would be in the area he isnt experienced in. This being flash, and therefore being that which I do. Z will do most of the site as mentioned, but he will send me the materials I need to do what ever it is to be done in flash. I used to run a site called ShadowGrafx and hopefully soon I will be opening my new site 12one Media |

hmmm I see. On the topic of flash, what types of things do you do in flash? Page transitions, menu animations, introductions? |

If your asking what I do specifically, I add effects to navigations and banners mostly. If I where to do transitions between pages or menues or things of that sort it would require me to integrate the entire design in flash. The majority of the work at that point would go to me. If your asking what flash is capable of, you can make advertisements, banners, navigations, games, movies, presentations. There are just so many things to be done with flash. |

funding comes completely from the Clients. We complete the project first, and upon reciept of payment I send whatever money is owed to my employees. So far I have been very succesful, and Shadow12one has only worked with me on one project. If you would like to work with us for the experience please send me a PM and we can discuss that in more detail. |

the part were you mentioned people around age 13-15, making websites, is certainly true, i'm extremely interested in making websites, maintaining them, exploiting security holes (check my name), just joking about that latter part i'm 14 as well, and if you dont mind Zeerus, i'd like to work along with you, as Ryan said, not for the money but for the experience this leads me to suggest, we all should be involved with some of Zeerus' projects, well the people who know about web design, we all have our certain fields: shadow12one, flash... me, general web design, meta code, a little PHP/MySQL experience, site security... Zeerus, a little bit of everything? i dont know |

sounds good to me. I'm always open to having people work for me for free. Like I said send me a PM and we'll talk more. I'm at the Apple Store in Tampa International Plaza right now, so I can't talk much |

I am currently the age of 18 and I started all this when I was 17, so you kids have it better than I do considering your starting this at a far younger age than I did. If you look at things however, there are far more 18 to 30 web designers than 13 to 17. |

I'm mainly talking to those who haven't moved out of their parents' house in this question: Do your parents approve of you doing such work? Did you consult them before starting work? Did they disapprove? |

I havent moved out just yet and since I began this, my parents have been 100% behind me. They even had opportunities to make use of my knowledge or skill. |

My parent are completely behind me on this, and encourage me to do it. They have even offered to buy me all the programs I need, but then I'd have to cut them in on future profits, so I'll be buying them myself. And yes, I have experience in pretty much everything. I specialize in XHTML, HTML, and CSS along with simple, professional graphics. If it comes down to it I could probably do some Flash and PHP. I also do computer programming, mainly making video games |

lol My gawd, you''ll all think I'm a walking museum when I tell you MY age ;-). I'm 37 I've been programming since I was 7 (back in 1975, few months before I hit 8 lol)...I've seen all the micro computer industry begin, including the internet and well I think it gives me a unique perspective on why things are the way they are today :-). I've been doing HTML/DHTML/XHTML, XML/XSL, ASP, JSP, JavaScript and VBScript, Java, PHP, Pearl/CGI, Ruby, Python along with a couple other web related scripting/compilable languages. I also know all databases known to man (well close to it lol). DBase III, IV, V, Clipper, Paradox, Foxpro, Clarion Database Developer, Superbase, 1+1=3 Integrated, flexbase, Access, SQL Server, PostGres, Ingres, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and more that I can't think of right now ;-). Programming languages? indeed I know those too ;-). C, C++, Pascal, Delphi, VB, QB, PowerBasic (all BASIC dialiects really lol), Ada, Modula, Fortran, COBOL, AP/L, ALGOL, PL/1 and PL/2, Oberon, (some assembler, not enough for my taste lol) 4GL, and the list goes on and on :-) What can I say, 30 years (alomost, couple months to go), in the industry gives you that kind of background :-). I also know many devleopment tools as well, like UML and other development tools and utilities. I knwo Standard, Client/Server, N-Tier architectures, CORBA distributed design, blah blah blah :-)..... When you start in this industry don't ever think you know it all. always gotta learn and know well whatever comes out :-). |

wow. your design skills in graphics may not be the greatest, but if you know that much programming I'd be more than happy to let you work with me for experience. |

Just wondering though, what's so bad about using Microsoft FrontPage? Almost everywhere I go, everyone's like 'Frontpage sucks!'. Coding definately isn't my strong point. I understand the concept of it and know a few html tags, but most of the time I let FrontPage do the coding, and I dont think anyone can tell the difference in the end, unless FrontPage leaves like a unique style of html. I've always been more into the design side. |

Frontpage, as most Microsoft products runs great with anything Microsoft related but leaves compatability gaps else where. From what I heard, frontpage causes some problems with certain browsers but for your level of programming you shouldnt come across anything major. I suggest learning to use Macromedia Dreamweaver. It supports various web programming languages. Another option is doing things the old way, manually with notepad. Editors like FrontPage and Dreamweaver are WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), meaning you can see whats going on. They do however make things a hell of alot easier and faster. |

Yea I think I'll try learning Dreamweaver. What I like about Frontpage is that because it makes html easier and faster, I can focus more on the design point of view. I'll pick up on coding later on, but for now its not my highest priority. |

As a designer you starting off on your own you should make it a priority to get better with HTML at the very least. When you create a website, the design aspect is only half of the project. The other equal portion is the coding. If your coding suffers, so does your design. |
