It just doesn't flow well to me. Static is used a lot on the web, and sounds kind of newbie-ish now. I would suggest something that combines two unique words. Or just mess around with words. Like Gizmodo is a popular website based on the word gizmo, relating to gadgets, etc.

just be creative and take notes on what you do and don't like

I agree with Zeerus' comment, but I myself havent seen static used that much. Ive only ever come across static in the name 'scionStatic'. I kind of like the name cold static, but it probably could be more original with an uncommon word replacing static, or a different structure. You dont have to listen to my suggestions though, I'm probably the worst at coming up with names. But I know how hard it can be to think of a good one, that wont leave people with that 'ugh, not again' feeling. Try googling the word static and words that relate to what your forum is about. I usually do that to get a general idea of how common the word is used. If you do use Cold Static as a name, you could probably pull it off if the design lives up to it. Good luck.

wow, that's a lot of results. And just because there is already a ColdStatic.net, you should find a different name.

to be honest i can't change the name because the banner has Cold Static on it and i dont have the PSD, i suppose i could make another one but i have to decide on a name

so far the names that i WONT choose are
-Static Designs
-Static Fusion
-Cold Fusion

what terms, that i could use as a name, are associated with a computer?

i think i'm going to stick with Cold Static i dont think it'll matter that much if a site www.coldstatic.net has the same name

well the site for coldstatic.net is for a band.. i think. It might not matter, I dont know. I mean the two are totally different things. If you do decide to think of another name, think of some words, that appeal to you, and try to incorporate them into the name. If they're taken, check a thesaurus- thesaurus.com. If you are absolutely out of ideas, try googling 'random word generator'. I tried using one of those when I was out of ideas.
