This was the general question I had within the IRC chatroom for my site just a few seconds ago. One of my fellow RPers threw out the idea that two of the same thing can't exist....that it isn't possible. Explain your take on this below. If you think it is, explain how, if not, explain how also.I will start by telling you my argument against this... Yes two of the same thing may exist, some suggest eyeballs, maybe ears. But ears can come in a different shape, and the eyeballs can have a different sructure then the other, but what happens if we bring a more valid point....like || these Parallel Lines... For those of you with basic Geometry, we all know that Parallel Lines are two lines that never cross and go on forever. Those two lines are both the same shape, size, and structure. Thus proving themselves to be the same. If one was slightly off, it woul throw off the balance of Parallel and end up not becomming Parallel after all. Now...he then brought up the fact that one of the lines didn't come from an 'original' line, thus not making them equal.... Ok then...If one of the lines was to come from an original line, that wouldmean they touched eachother at one point or another, which is something Parallel lines cannot do, thus not making them the same. Therefore, these || two Parallel lines right here are the same in each and every possible way... Anyone elses thoughts on thei subject? |

But if you know basic geometry you would know that parallel lines are on seperate planes. They dont exist in the same space in a geometrical sense of the word. Eye balls and ears occupy the same space and are on the same plane, this space and plane being your body and face. Same with your ears. 2 of the same cars can sit next to each other but they also occupy a common area. |

But the general question was. Can the two same items exist? *Nod* Sure they arn't on the same path as one another, nor at the same place. But they both do exist...therefore answering the question. Yes they can exist... |

Ah well there you have it. Its a very general question. multiple of the same items CAN exist but not on the same plane without sharing a direct relationship. So the answer to this question has to be yes and no... or simply 42. |
