hi I was just wondering if it is possible to embed a flash swf into my signature. If looked around and so far none of the embed scripts i've tried have been successful. |

No, sorry As a security measure I've disabled the posting of flash files in signatures. Because of the action scripting Flash leaves itself vulnerable to attacks from hackers. These hackers can run exploits on the files and in turn, they could crash the entire forum system, or break into the users acount. I can get the code for you to use on other forums though |

The flash script does leave vulnerabilities, and I remember recently a big artist (can't remember name or his site) was hacked because of the vulnerability. THe only thing I could suggest is making it a .gif format... |

The only trouble with .gif files, is the fact that they are just so unbelievably huge, in some cases they crash the shitty IE and are generally pretty ugly. If you want a well don sig just use a static image or simply use text. |

yep, static images are the way to go. unfrotunately all of the bands I work for want animation, and I can't stand it, these fade-in fade-out banners are just so tacky and ugly, it makes me want to vomit |

I disagree, some images with animation are pretty cool, and they catch the MYSPACE SURFERS EYE. Remember myspace is crap..and when you have something moving that looks nice among all the crap, it cathes there eye. Therefor, the animation serves its purpose. Plus, every band has some sort of flash banner or something to promote themselves. |
