Because of the action scripting Flash leaves itself vulnerable to attacks from hackers. These hackers can run exploits on the files and in turn, they could crash the entire forum system, or break into the users acount. I can get the code for you to use on other forums though

Newbie Posts: 29 Group: Members Member #86 Joined: August 6, 2005	The flash script does leave vulnerabilities, and I remember recently a big artist (can't remember name or his site) was hacked because of the vulnerability. THe only thing I could suggest is making it a .gif format...

Newbie Posts: 21 Group: Members Member #113 Joined: April 21, 2006	The only trouble with .gif files, is the fact that they are just so unbelievably huge, in some cases they crash the shitty IE and are generally pretty ugly. If you want a well don sig just use a static image or simply use text.

Remember myspace is crap..and when you have something moving that looks nice among all the crap, it cathes there eye. Therefor, the animation serves its purpose. Plus, every band has some sort of flash banner or something to promote themselves.
