Is Webfuzion Media possible? What do I mean by this? Is Webfuzion Media actually a real, legal company, run by Zeerus? If it is, is it actually registered by the government as a small business? This is necessary, because its required to register the name and business type, or something similar, so the government can make sure that no other businesses are running with the same name in your geographical area. Do you pay taxes? I don't know too much about taxes, but when your in a part time job and you earn a certain amount of money, you have to pay taxes. Businesses are also required to pay taxes, or at least the business owner. The company employees have to pay taxes. What im getting to, is the state of Webfuzion Media. Is it a legitimate company, or just labeled as a company, but really just a gathering of members, who are paid for their work. Working online sounds like an ideal job. But in a way, its probably illegal if you dont pay taxes or if the deal isnt legit. Even as a freelancer, you have to pay taxes. So in a way, if Webfuzion Media isnt actually a real, legit company, aren't you cheating the system? This post was not intended to be offensive in any way or form. Its purely food for thought. |

WebFuzion Media is a legal company, and is in the system (we actually just purchased our business license, and it is being processed now). We do pay taxes, and do everything a normal business would. We even get tax reductions on purchases made through company funding. For instance, If I were to buy a computer with my own money, I would get no tax reduction, but if it were purchased as a company product with company funds I would get a tax reduction for that item. I hope this answers your questions. And I'm not sure when you have to pay taxes in Florida. I believe I have to pay taxes once I make more than $5000 a year, or something like that. |

Freelancing situations are different. Let me dig up some info for you. You live in Australia, right? your place of employment has no effect on your immdiate taxes. You could work as a garbage man, but as long as you make a certain amount of money yearly, you have to pay taxes. |

Okay I've been digging around and some more questions popped up. Do you have to be of a certain age to apply for a business permit? I'm not looking into getting one, im just interested. Also, do your parents financially assist you? I found that freelancers have to pay both employer and employee taxes, seeing as how they're their own boss. Taxes don't affect you if you don't earn a certain amount each year right? So you could go around posing as a freelancer or whatnot without being hit by taxes. But then, something else contradicted this. Basically I read that you could get a hefty fine, for doing business without a permit. Does this apply just for people who are owning a 'business'? So if I did some freelance work for my uncle or whatever, and got payed, it's legal? I'd appreciate any help. |

Hacker-X, I make all clients sign a contract, which is then legally notarized by a state notary. On top of that all clients must pay a certain amount before I start with the design and setup of the website, to make sure I don't get screwed over. And if they don't lik ethe design, I just make more samples until they see something they like. Bird-E, you don't have to be of a certain age to get a permit, though it does have to be signed by a gaurdian, at least in Florida that's the rule. You can legally work for your uncle and get paid, and you won't need a permit, but if you continue to do freelance work and make a career out of it you'll need a business permit. |

LOL, this is the reason when I do consulting, graphics, or teachings I try to do them off the books (usually cash). Easier that way as I am still a minor (come oct. 8th I will be 18) |
