I just wanted to know which operating system platform you all prefer. I like to use the Mac OS, but for programming I like to use Linuz. In a way, each has its own advantages. I can't wait to start testing Longhorn. Tekimagic, didn't you say your dad was part of the developer network, and that he has a legal copy of it? |

i haven't voted, i've never used Linux, i've used an older Mac at school one time, the only thing that i know about linux is that you need commands to operate it, and i was wondering if someone could get me a screen shot or 2 of a linux OS... i'll look on google, too |

the topic title and poll are different in a way. I use all three main OS at home, but I prefer to use Mac OSX as Macs have been my prefrence for about six years, ever since getting into graphic design and film editing. Most Linux OS have a GUI for users. |

Hacker-X, Linux OS' are not command driven. They work just like any other operating system, and are most related to Windows. They are open source, which allows for editing and command input, but they are not command driven. However, my dad used to have an old C64, which was completely command driven |

Zeerus, they are basicly command driven in a way, but your are right as they are mostly GUI based and similar to windows. Like how early, actually most, Window OS are dos with a GUI. |
