I'm having troubles deciding on a name for my upcoming portfolio site. A while back I came up with- studioHYBRiD and HYBRiD:GEAR studios/design. Im keeping studio/design in both names, and right now things are leaning to the first. It kills two birds with one stone by incorporating the word studio at the front. But I personally think that Hybrid:gear studios suits the creative theme of the site. However the 'gear' part has no relevance, except for the logo being two gears. Which sounds better? I thought Id get some feedback while its still in the works, so it doesnt suddenly clash against the design. |

i like studio hybrid, sounds abstract, people can interpret it different ways... do a google search for concept cars, i'm sure desgins name them, maybe you can come up with a name that way |

yeah, studioHYBRiD definitely sounds better. it's shorter and to the point, and just flows better. I definitely suggest updating your sig so it says 'Name finalized'. anyway, good luck |

Just been thinking about this for the past few hours, and I realised that the presence feels different when I apply text style and colours. Ive dropped hybridgear, because the 'gear' part is irrelevant and doesnt describe what I do. Something happened while I was playing around with text colours, a new name popped up in my head: HYBRiD:PIXEL I know the word pixel is overused, but its a little more descriptive of digital art, where as studio could be music studio, art studio, etc. Well take a look for yourself- any thoughts? The little subtitles (interactive, design, studios) arent actually part of the name, but just little descriptions which may make an appearance here and there depending on the situation. Playing on this idea, Im beginning to feel that Hybrid:pixel has more versatility. Here's what I mean- HYBRiD:PIXEL studios is the generic name. Not everyone wants flash/multimedia in their site, so it could be labelled specifically as HYBRiD:PIXEL design. This could also be a label for print work or things unrelated to the web. And HYBRiD:PIXEL interactive for sites that will incorporate media, or CD-roms/ other multimedia devices. I dont know... I think I'm beginning to like hybrid pixel because the word 'studio' doesnt make an appearance each time. [edit] Updated picture with more alternative colour styles (little differences), and added logo. This isnt the original hybrid logo, its my personal logo but Im thinking about using it for my site. Added little pixel font styles (hope you all have good eyes) [/edit] yes, the colours are bright, but I'm following the colour scheme of my personal logo. I was also trying to emphasise the colour, as if saying that one of my main focuses is colour. ![]() x_x |

nice logos, as far as choosing one... StudioHybrid designs, its a professional name, is this going to be a forum or just a website or both? what is the font you're using? (not the pixel font, the other one) |

This is going to be a website showcasing my work. A small forum might be added so I can talk with potential clients. As for the font, I believe its called Pump Demi Bold LET. |

Thanks for the feedback. Still cant decide. I like hybridpixel, but pixel is overused nowadays and the name might not be one id be willing to mention in real life, if I choose to keep this name for future business. Going to get some feedback on a few friends, but right now studiohybrid sounds like the way to go. |
