Ever wanted to recreate an image from your favorite spy-cam TV show? Well now you can. All it requires is a photo that's been shot at a high angle and a copy of Photoshop 7 or higher.

Start by opening your aerial photograph, which we will use as the basis of our spy-cam shot. If you don't have an aerial photo, you can play around with the perspective of a regular photo to get the same effect. TV images are made up of hundreds or even thousands of tiny horizontal lines, so adding these will give your photo a grainy effect.

Now, you could use the Line tool to draw hundreds of these little lines, but that would be a waste of time. A much quicker option is to duplicate the main layer then go to Filter -> Texture -> Grain. Set the grain type to 'Horizontal'. Exaggerate the strength of the lines by increasing the filter's contrast and intensity settings.

Now set the line layer's blending mode to 'Screen' to emphasize the lines, and then desaturate the original layer to get a wahsed-out video style image suitable for any spy-cam show. I hope this has been useful. Please post your results and ask any comments you may have.

Somebody please submit this to Pixel2Life and Good-Tutorials.com
you'll need to create an icon for it though...
