The new guitar hero came out in the UK on Friday and Louise bought me it for our anniversary! Woohoo! Anyway I thought if anyone else had the game they could share their own tips, hints and tricks that work for you on the game.

Here are a few hints from me.

  • Practice mode is brilliant, use it. It may be a little boring to play songs on slow, but if you practice you will be able to complete immense solos.
  • When you only have to hit the fifth (orange) button only once but need your hand on lower frets straight after try stretching your pinky over without moving your whole hand. On sweet child o' mine this is a great trick for the intro riff.
  • Master the Hammer-ons and pull-offs you need them to master the later solos.
  • Keep your fingers on the lower frets when playing the two handed tapping sections for you can easily do pull-offs without having to strum or move your fretting hand too much.
  • Relax, and don't rush. Probably the most important rule, even if you are failing relax take a deep breath and start again. Never rush, watch a pro guitarist, even when they play ultra fast parts it all looks natural.

I couldn't imagine playing with a real pick, however I do play guitar. I'll give that one a try sometime.
