A lot of people on our street were shooting off fireworks.. Around 5 am someone thought it would be fun to shoot off some more.. I was glad they didn't wake Mark up cause he would have charged outside and shoved a firecracker up someone's ass.. I had visions of me having to bail a naked, pissed off man out of jail. |

I don't care what someone was doing, no way I'm running outside naked in -20 weather. ![]() I caught some bug that is kicking my butt right now. I usually don't get sick, so maybe this will be the last for a few years. Basically a cough with a fever, but I coughed so much Sun and Mon every part of my body hurts. |

if its a cold, get some ZICAM, it its the flu, take care of yourself cause its bringing a lot of people to their knees.. I have been lucky and have not really gotten the flu in years, thank God, and knock on wood! I had the Hong Kong flu when I was in the 9th grade, and it almost killed me, literally. I ended up in the hospital and was out of school for 6 weeks. I also had the Swine flu in my early twenties..I worked at a Pharmacy and caught it there. I was out of work for a couple of weeks. It wasn't as bad as the Hong Kong Flu was though. |

I'm still alive.... barely. No, it's still hanging on but it's just a cough and lack of energy for the most part. Been going to bed early every night. One side effect is I have been having some wild dreams. I love having dreams. Only had one where after I woke up I was relieved it was just a dream. On a sad note, my Dad died last Thursday. They had given him two years to live and he made it 3 and a half. He went quietly at home. Supposed to be a pallbearer at the service, if my truck can make the trip on Tuesday. |

I am so sorry to hear that, but am glad that you got that extra time with him. As for the funeral, I hope you make it.. rent a car if necessary. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

That may well be, but you will still grieve.. so know that you have a lot of people thinking about you. Carmie lost her password to get in here and asked for me to pass her condolences to you. |

Crispy2.. Who the hell is that? ![]() I still have that damn lingering cough, and I'm into week three! Nowhere near as bad as it was the first week. Finally got some snow yesterday. Took me almost an hour and a half to do my normal 10 minute drive in the morning. Most of it is gone now, with upper 50s forecast for the weekend it will all be gone. Been busy at work this month, which explains my absence. Hope it will keep up for next month. Here's to life, eh. |

I will take your snow over the temps we had this weekend... -51F on Monday with a wind chill factor of -60'ish.. Half the cars in town froze up. I got to work to find several people out because of that.. on top of that, there was a power outage on Friday night that shut the heat down in the building where my office is housed, for the entire weekend.. Saturday and Sunday had temps around -42. When I got to work Monday morning, you could see your breath IN THE OFFICE. I was practically sitting on a little space heater in an attempt to stay warm.. seriously.. I had the heater, on a box. between my legs. As for your cough.. every time I get a cold these days, I end up with a hacking cough that lasts for several weeks. Wish I could tell you something you can take, but so far I have found nothing that will send it on its merry way .. hot soup would probably help.. it can't hurt at any rate. |

Doesn't all the pipes in the building freeze and break when that happens? You can keep those temps up there. I don't mind the cold, but that is beyond cold. My brother stayed at my house last night, he's from San Diego. When I got home he was sitting in the living room in his parka and wool hat. I keep the house at 59 when I'm not home. Granted that is not very comfortable, but it's not parka weather. I just asked if he was cold, and he said everyone keeps asking him that ![]() He headed back to his warm California sun today. |

I would think the pipes would have busted, but they didn't. I am guessing that they must have either wrapped all the pi[es in heat wrap, or they had hot water flowing through the pipes to keep that from happening. We already had pipes bust in the building before this last deep freeze. 59 probably was a wee bit cold for him.. That is comfortable temps up here, mainly because its dry. You would see people donning their bathing suits and laying out in the sun if it got that warm up here.. Hell, it got up to +10 yesterday, the sun was out and it was really nice. I stood outside and enjoyed it. |
