oh crap, I forgot about that.. I really don't know why the state of Alaska participates in it since it doesn't really have an impact on us in terms of daylight.

I think I will refuse to participate this year.
That will show them.

If I could refuse to participate, I would.. I hate that feeling of being off when the time changes..

I didn't do it! I didn't change my clocks!
To celebrate, I am going to go to work an hour early from now on.

Ironically I actually did that today.. I wasn't due in to work till 9 am, but my boss called just after 7 with an emergency and wanted to know if I could get in asap.. she was even willing to pay for me to take a cab.. I got there just after 8 am.

That is cool.
Maybe it's time to hint about a pay raise..

no chance of a pay raise as they technically are not my employers.. I am actually employed by a program called MASST(Mature Alaskans Seeking Skills Training.) After being unemployed for 4 years and not getting anywhere, it was clear that I needed to upgrade my computer skills with the latest versions of Excel and Word, plus I needed to get some training on Outlook and Quickbooks. So I joined MASST as one of the things they do is give their employees computer training.

That's cool. So do you just get training, or do they train you while you are doing work for another company? Wonder if they have anything like that around here? I may be in need of something like that soon.

Just stepped out for lunch, beautiful day out today. Blue shy and sunshine. :)

Most people who come to the MASST program have never held down a job, so the program is set up to give people on the job training as well as various classes the MASST program offers, such as the computer training I received.. plus I have to take a resume writing workshop and an interview workshop..

That may be a moot point as I have a job interview Monday with a state agency that does exactly what I did at one of the Non Profits I worked at for 15 years when I was in Florida..

Cool. I hope you get the job.
Almost summer like today, mid 70s. Think I am going to cut out of work early and enjoy some of this. :)

Thanks.. Part of me wants the job and another part of me doesn't want to leave where I am.. If I have to though, at least I am going to a good job

we woke up this morning to -13 with a wind chill factor of -30 cause it was windy as hell out there.. We have had this wind blowing through town on and off like a banshee for 3 days now. I bet there are going to be a lot of kids that have earaches by the beginning of next week..

That sucks. I hate wind storms. I'll take rain, snow, even hail over wind.
